Quote:
The Stormhammer is the pre-eminent super-heavy assault tank of the Solar Auxilia. Equipped with a fearsome array of weapons with overlapping arcs of fire, it is often found in the vanguard of the Imperium’s invasion and pacification forces and is able, and often expected, to plunge into the heart of an enemy force and obliterate multiple units in short order.

The Solar Auxilia Stormhammer Super-heavy Assault Tank features nine independently firing weapon systems: a turret-mounted Stormhammer cannon with co-axial multi-laser, a hull-mounted dual battlecannon, a hull-mounted multi-laser and six sponson-mounted multi-lasers arranged in two broadsides of three weapons. Each of the sponson-mounted multi-lasers have the option to be upgraded to heavy flamers, heavy bolters or lascannon – all of which are included in the kit.

This is a complete multi-part resin and plastic kit. The rules for using the Solar Auxilia Stormhammer in games set during the Horus Heresy can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Four – Conquest.

This model is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 27th February.

In my personal opinion I think it just does not have enough guns.

Stick on any more guns and people will cheese_whine plus the price of the thing would go up even further! At 555 pts right now it's already a massive point sink and that's before the obligatory BS boost (+20 pts) and the anti-melta coating (+25 pts).

Though people did complain an awful lot about the turret only having one gun instead of two, as the old design did. The turret is perhaps a bit too weedy to have two main guns.

edit.

Ye olde designe:

I like the old design, but I also thin k the new one makes more sense.

The old design was certainly one of the more heavily armed tank of that era: four main guns, four lascannons and twelve heavy bolters

So those are Lascannons. I had always wondered about that.

Minor correction, it didn't have twelve heavy bolters, but rather twelve boltguns. emo
