Returning her fallen pokemon the young girl couldn't help but look sullen, the effects of several of her pokemon falling finally getting to her. Still though, after a moment the expression was replaced with a large, triumphant grin and soon she held a new pokeball in her hands. Grayson quirked an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing slightly before he shook his head and jerked his head, his indication that they should continue. "Alright, let's show 'em what we've got, Seadra!" With a dramatic toss up the blue seahorse was released and looked down at Morta with poorly hidden disgust, it looked as if they had a primadonna on their hands.
Grayson frowned, absently rolling Charon's pokeball in his hand, before he pocketed it and replaced it with another. "Morta, return," he commanded, releasing Styx at the same time. "Ah, huh?" Grayson looked up at the girl, meeting her confused face with neutrality. "What? It's not a crime for me to switch up my team," he pointed out, Styx taking the place of a disappointed Morta. "Oh, uhm, yeah... I know. I just--""Use Absorb." In a flash Styx shortened the distance between herself and the Seadra, lashing out with a tentacle before she all but disappeared, reappearing directly at Grayson's side. "C'mon. This battle's almost over, right? Send out your next pokemon."
With confusion still in her eyes the girl slowly turned to look at her Seadra, who shuddered and then collapsed to the ground, unconscious. "Wha-what? I don't.. When.. why?" Grayson turned back to look at the picnicker after returning Styx, deadpanning when he saw that she still had her Seadra still out. "You do have another pokemon right? Bring it out already, I've got to get going."

Grayson held back a sigh as he faced off against an Omastar, the young girl's last pokemon and yet another water type. "You've really got a type, huh?" he mused, sending out Styx once more. He'd been hoping for a bit more diversity, since he'd wanted to train Morta a bit more but he wasn't willing to risk having to take her to a pokecenter to get healed, he just didn't have the time. Which was exactly why he relied on Styx, who took care of the fossil in a single move. "Well, thanks for that." Giving a stretch Grayson returned Styx and the irritable Charon, who was none too pleased he hadn't gotten more of a chance to battle. "Oh, uhm, yeah... no problem." It seemed Charon wasn't the only one upset at the outcome of the battle, and with a tilt of the head Grayson watched as the girl recalled her pokemon and gave bit of adjustment to her items.
"That was a good battle, thank you for agreeing to it." It was hard to tell if she was sincere, considering she was all but pouting, but nevertheless Grayson gave a nod before he turned around and started walking away. Well, that had been his first official trainer battle. It had been... anticlimactic.

Starting his walk into Jubilife back up Grayson reflected on his pokemon's performance throughout their battle, one hand absently moving up to gently adjust Magikit when he felt the feline start to slip off his shoulder. They had done well enough, though that was simply due to the fact that the young girl's pokemon had been pathetically weak and they'd had the advantage of speed. Up against pokemon their level he doubted things would go as smoothly, his team would need to update their moveset before he got much farther. With this decided Grayson pulled out his phone, a different style and color from his personal one, and pressed down onto the '1' button, the screen of the phone switching to display the call screen as it began to ring; ah the convenience of speed-dialing.
Though it was a bit too soon to start calling in requests, he figured it wouldn't be too hard to convince his commander to send him at least a few items. Though he was far from being the man's favorite, at the very least he knew Grayson would put the items to good use, which was better than nothing. The insomniac stifled a yawn as he waited for the line to pick up, the phone ringing twice more, and on its way to a third, when it was answered. "Finally..." Grayson muttered, rolling his eyes as a voice was cleared on the other line. "What was that, Stoker!?" Grayson hummed lightly to himself, pursing his lips and biting down onto the tip of his tongue. "Nothin', sir."

Grayson led the way back into Jubilife City, one eyebrow raising gently as his feet scraped against familiar pavement. So all this time... if he'd just gone North instead of East, he would've saved himself a hell of a trip. That being said, he wouldn't have had the chance to capture Gourgeist. At the thought of this Grayson turned to look at the pokemon in question, who had begun to walk almost beside him rather than directly behind. Aita was still floating through the air and he'd made a bit more progress, he had stabilized himself quite a bit. The teen rolled both his shoulders, taking the time to squeeze down on the sore muscles in an attempt to loosen their tightness. He'd returned Tartarus during their trek back, and considering how bright it still was the beast hadn't minded. With it now back in its pokeball and Aita in the air Grayson was free of passengers, for the time being at least.
A sudden sneezing fit forced Grayson to stop in his tracks and try to recover, his sinuses clearly still trying to recover from his trip to Floaroma; damn flower town. When the last sneeze rolled through the teen sniffed and then straightened up, his eyebrows furrowing when he realized there was a weight on his shoulder. He began to turn his head slowly, prepared to situate Aita with a hard stare for disobeying him, only to stop when he found himself staring at a much... smaller ride-hitcher, and one that certainly wasn't on his team. Grayson stared blankly at the Spinarak on his shoulder, who stared back at him, before ever so slowly he reached up to flick the arachnid off.
"Aita, deal with this." The kitten didn't need to be told twice, and with a 'mrrow' of delight he swooped down to attack the Spinarak, who was only just then gathering its bearings. The battle was over nearly as soon as it began, with the only damages Aita suffered being his fur as the kitten was forced to claw at the sticky strings of web that had been shot onto him. Grayson paid the Magikit's peril no mind, for the time being at least, and instead found much more interest in the retreating Spinarak, whose odd colorings certainly weren't the norm of its species. "Hm," he hummed curiously before he bent down to begin helping Aita peel the rest of the web off him. "Never seen those colors before."

Not soon after Grayson had finished helping Aita remove the webbing did his phone begin to ring, the ring tone, as well as the vibrations that shook the entire small section of his bag, enough to cause the male to stiffen. He huffed in irritation but instantly reached back to pull his phone from its confines, thumb pressing down firmly to accept the call. "Sir?"
Grayson yawned before he indicated for Gourgeist and Aita to follow him, figuring he could walk as he had his ear talked off. "Stoker, still in Sinnoh I see." He held back from frowning, his jaw tensing with possible excuses that he knew wouldn't fly. "I'm heading back to Kanto now, sir. I should be there in the next few hours," he explained. A dry chuckle echoed on the other line, but the man said nothing more on the matter. "You better be. But, that's not what I called you for. There have been reports of odd pokemon sightings and I want you to catch any you come across, for research." Oh, so now he was being told that. Guess it wouldn't be a good idea to mention the Spinarak from before then. "Yes sir," Grayson remarked diligently, albeit dully. "I'll get on it now."

Grayson resisted the urge to hang up the phone immediately after 'promising'--he used the term loosely, since that would mean he had a choice in the option--to capture any strange pokemon he came across. Instead he listened, as best he could at least, as his commander gave a few vague remarks and, then a few minutes later, reminded the grunt he needed to return to Kanto pronto before he finally hung up. Grayson gave a heavy sigh afterwards, and for a moment it looked as if he was even more tired than usual, if that was possible.
He wasn't allowed to stay in his dreary state for long as a Bulbasaur waddled into sight, immediately catching Grayson's attention. He stared at the pumpkin on the starter's back, momentarily contemplating just how one a mutation of this magnitude was even remotely possible, but didn't allow himself to become too distracted before he motioned for Aita to take care of the Bulbasaur as well. Quick as a flash the kitten dove in and delivered an effective attack that didn't fail to send the dual grass and poison-type head-over-gourd, and just as quickly Grayson chucked a pokeball at it. Once, twice, three times. Once the red and white capsule had grown still, indicating a successful capture, Grayson dropped down to pick it up, tossed it once, and then slipped it onto his belt loop. He'd carry the pokemon around for a bit, but at the earliest convenience he'd ship it up to his higher-ups.

Evidently, it worked, as when Adder noticed Mudkip in all his... muddiness, a rather disgusted and displeased expression took his face. Of course... that did take a bit. Adder seemed really... involved in whatever he wa sdoing, whenever he was doign something. It sort of surprised Mudkip-- the kid seemed like the sort of brat that would complain something was boring after five minutes of doing it-- but that surprise soon dodged any chance of becoming admiration when it turned into sour annoyance. He had been hoping his little counterattack would get more attention, faster. The mud was drying out... Eventually, Adder did glance back, and gave said reaction-- but even then, it didn't last long before he went back to... whatever he was doing.

And what he was doing, was researching. He had a portable little device that he used as his communicator, which was compatible with most communication devices. It also let him surf the internet, research, email, holo-chat, phone call... a bunch of stuff. His parents had anxiously insisted on it when he started his journey, and he wasn't going to complain. Pan seemed less than enthused when she was released ti change her pokeball, so Adder didn't bother keeping her out. Pan was... well, she was and she wasn't lazy. She was generally fine with moving and just walking around, she didn't seem to really care, but if she did care, and wasn't in the mood, then there was really no making her do it. This seemed one of those times, so he instead focused on the information he was getting. The next gym leader was... rock type. A type with a lot of weaknesses, but somehow, not one he felt exceptionally confident against. Probably because, in turn, a good several of his pokemon were weak to it...

The biggest city in the region, though it was still miles ahead of him. It would likely take days, it not little more than a week to get there. In the meantime, Saru would have to suffer the wilds for what they were. Untamed and dangerous. Within an hour of leaving Sandgem Town, he'd already been attacked be a wild Shinx. If this was any indicator of what was to come Saru wasn' sure he'd come fully prepared. Physically or mentally. He was confident he could make it from point A to B alive but he wasn't sure how his physical and mental health would be after the fact. It was natural for him to forgo the comforts a home could prodive such as a bed and pillow but out here a simple sleeping bad he quickly realized was so much more than a mere comfort item. It was a life saver. The days were mild but night would get cold. He'd need to set camp and build a fire or risk getting sick.

Saru couldn't help but over hear a pair of young trainers talking in the cafeteria of the Pokemon center. He'd just made it into Jubilife City the day before. The trip was relatively uneventful overall. No wild Pokemon had come to challenge him, he'd passed no trainers to battle, he didn't even find anything forgotten by other passing trainers. All in all the trip was boring. This talk of Thugs out to steal people's Pokemon however, sparked an interest in the monk.
"Excuse me, ladies. I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. What is Team Skull if I may ask?" Saru inquired with a bow. Hands held together in a motion of prayer. The girls seemed a little taken aback at first but smiled and made to answer the question. "They're a criminal organization in the Alola region." Replied one. "I hear they're rejects who couldn't finish the region's trails." This was all very interesting to Saru who propped for more and more answers until nothing more could be learned.

Jubilife was not quite like any of the cities in Amarantha. As she entered she spotted a large school nearby the entrance, students walking with school books in hand. It was good seeing young minds heading off to learn new things. She wished them well. She herself, was on a journey to get stronger, and perhaps find strong people to assist her kingdom. For now, she had to focus on getting stronger. While Jubilife was an astonishing city, and she greatly wished to explore, it was merely a pass-through. With no gym, there was no need to stay. According to her guide of Shinnoh, the first gym that most trainers started their challenge upon was in a city called Oreburg. So, it was to the west she set was going.

As they walked along the stone-laid streets, Temperance spotted a nearby entertainer dancing for a small group of people. She stopped momentarily to watch him as he juggled an assortment of coloured balls. Spotting a young child nearby trying to push his way through the crowd, Temperance stepped forward, feeling obligated to lift him up so he could see the juggler. Leaning forward, Temperance lowered a finger to the boy's shoulder, tapping it gently until he turned around. "Would you like to see the performer?" She asked. The boy for a moment stood with his mouth open, in awe. A common reaction of boys when they saw a lovely looking woman. "Uhh... Yea.." He stammered. Temperance smiled sweetly, grabbing the young boys hand, she placed her hand between the shoulders of two adults before her. "Excuse me." She spoke. They parted ways, allowing her to advance, the young boy following along with red cheeks. "Pardon." Once more she made her way between two people. In time, she was finally at the front, standing with the boy at her side. She released his hand, and smiled down at him, then back to the performer. Azalev had followed along as well, finding it easier to climb over the people's feet, eventually popping out beside Temperance. He stepped up and watched the performer as well.
At the end, the young boy looked up, hands clapping to cheer on the Performer as he took his final bows. "Thank you, Miss." The boy spoke. "Here, you can have this as thanks." He stated. Fishing out a small hear-shaped scale he held it up to her. Temperance knelled down and held out her hand. The people of Shinnoh were surely generous. With the scale in hand, the boy then motioned towards Azalev. "Use that on your Piplup, and he might learn a new move!" The boy exclaimed. "Really?" Temperance replied. Looking to her side, she held down the scale, allowing Azalev to grab the scale in his beak. It sparkled for a moment before turning to dust. Azalev shook his feathers, looking to the left and sneezed up a Water Pulse.

Temperances' eyes widened by this site. though she quickly found herself chuckling when the unfortunate victim of the Water Pulse appeared. His clown make-up now smeared, his painted smile couldn't hide the uncomfortable frown on his face. "I-I'm so very sorry." Temperance spoke, standing up as she attempted to regain her composer. The young boy was also in a fit of giggles. "D-daddy, you look so funny!" The boy exclaimed. Looking between the man and the boy, it was hard to see a resemblance, but the older male had make-up on, though smeared, it still did it's job of masking his real face. "He he, I'll have to take your word for it. That was some awful timing on my part. Anyway, thanks miss for helpin' my boy get back to the front of the crowd, We've got to be headin' home. My shift is over for the day." The man explained. As he took hold of his sons hand, the male turned away, but for a brief moment he stopped and looked back. "You wouldn't happen to be a new trainer would you? Have you picked up a Pokétch yet?" The male inquired. Temperance titled her head slightly. "No, I don't believe I have. What is that?" The male then turned with a wide grin. "Well, miss... It's an essential to any new trainers. Actually, you're in luck. I'm one of the representatives for the company that makes Pokétchs. Follow me, I'll bring you to our headquarters.
Temperance really felt like she wanted to move on, but this talk of a device essential to being a trainer sounded interesting to her. Following along, she was eventually lead to a large building. Within she was greeted by a young woman, who chuckled at the older males face make-up. After a moments exchange ,the male turned to Temperance and told her to wait for a moment in the lobby. It wasn't more than twenty minutes later that the male emerged once more, this time in a suit and tie. His clown make-up all cleaned up to reveal a fetching guise he'd previous hidden. "Here you are." He stated, handing over what appeared to be a watch of sorts. "Is... Are you simply giving this to me? I have payment if it costs anything..." The male shook his head. "Actually, that was to be my eldest's when he started his journey... but he decided instead to follow in my footsteps. While I'm proud of that, Now I have this payed for Pokétch with no owner. This one still have three years before he gets to begin his journey-" "I wanna be like my dad too!" The boy interrupted eagerly. Tempernace still wasn't to okay with simply taking the device, she hadn't really earned it. The male could see that in her gaze. "Don't you worry a lick. I have a good feeling about you, I know you'll be a great trainer... You already have the look of a gym leader." He chuckled, earning a somewhat uncomfortable chuckle from Temperance. If only he knew. "Anyway, take it. It has several features that are pretty easy to understand once you go to them. That one has never been used, so once you turn it on you can personalize it all you like."
There couldn't be enough thank yous coming from Temperance as she parted ways with the male and his young boy. But eventually, she was finally on her way to Oreburg. As she walked, Temperance picked at the watch that was now strapped to her wrist. "It really does have many functions to it." She smiled, glancing down at Azalev. "A clock, a calculator, it even tells me your status. This really is an essentual to trainers. I wonder why Amarantha doesn't have something like this?" She grinned. All the way to a cave passage Temperance plucked at the watch, only to next look up when she'd reached Oreburg.
