The location was pretty open and barren of greenery, but at least there were a few patches like this here or there. "Hey Ivysaur, long time no see," she remarked with a sarcastic smirk. She was surprised to find him glowering back at her. Quirking an eyebrow, the smirk vanished from her face. So much for starting on a light and friendly note... What the hell? "What? Did you want to be training?" she asked, frowning. What was up with all her boys and their passive aggressive attitudes today?
Ivysaur pouted and looked away, and she rolled her eyes, pushing off the pokecenter. Now do you want to train or not?" she asked, frowning and giving an annoyed gesture of her hand. He stared at the ground, then climbed up to his feet, giving a nod. "Saur!" he decided, and she rolled her eyes up. "Okay, good... Think you can be patient enough to wait a gym battle? I want to get it out of the way real quick," she continued, and saw his expression falter a bit. What... did he think she didn't mean right away?

At least she had done some traveling and was making decent progress. Not to mention, this time finally her work interests and Zak finally aligned in that he possibly had some info on this mysterious thief that she needed to investigate.

Well, if that wasn't incentive to train, Scarlett didn't know what was. As for his comments on her mystery thief, she had to laugh a bit as he accused her of denying his company and attempted to use that falsified fact to bribe another favor from her. Well, to be fair she didn't expect him to give her a freebee for that sort of information anyways, and she was willing to owe a small favor. Who knew, with all the flirting between them both, it might even end up being a favor she'd actually like to do....

She sent the text with a smirk and then moved towards the inner city, making her way towards the gym and entering. She returned Koga and Dotty for the time being, having to shuffle around her battle team a bit for the upcoming fight, however, annoyingly enough, she found that there was no direct path to the gym leader. If anything, Scarlett found it ironic that this gym was actually styled after a boxing gymnasium, filled with scrimmage rings and punching bags. If Scarlett wasn't so focused on getting her battle over with, she might have been inclined to work out a bit. Little did she know she would actually get the chance sooner than she expected. A lot of the punching bags were actually blocking her way, and moving them just by simply pushing was just too boring. She very much preferred to just kick or punch them away as hard as she could, and then watch them slide away along their railing. Eventually, she was able to clear the way to Maylene, who greeted Scarlett a small smile. "Hello, pleased to meet you challenger. I am Maylene. It's good to see you have a fighting spirit of your own, I can tell by the way you attacked those punching bags with such controlled ferocity." Maylene gave a courteous bow and then struck a fighting pose.

Scarlett's shrewd gaze assessed Maylene, a smirk on her face. So this was the gym leader? She seemed so young, but Scarlett knew better than to underestimate her due to age. She had to be a gym leader for a reason, right? "Are you prepared for battle?" Maylene asked, drawing her first pokeball up and sending out a Lucario. "Ready as I'll ever be." Scarlett said calmly, detaining her accent for the time being before choosing her first pokemon as well. "Gamma." Scarlett called out simply, releasing the eerie colored Golett in her possession. Gamma was a nice choice against these fighting types, being part ghost made him immune. Going up against a Lucario though... That would prove to be difficult. Gamma would need a bit of a boost, so Scarlett dug a heart scale from her bag, a last second change to be sure, but this wasn't the first time Scarlett had pulled something like this. She tossed Gamma the scale, which he caught and absorbed before starting the battle off. Though Scarlett had come into the gym feeling confident, if not rather cocky, she soon discovered that this was going to be a harder fought battle than she initially anticipated, and it got her frustrated, having to resort to using two sitrus berries from her stock. Eventually she won Maylene over, but she wasn't nearly satisfied with the way the battle had gone. She had expected Rave to wipe the floor with Maylene, but with two of Maylene's pokemon knowing rock type moves to crush the little noibat with, it hadn't been as easy of a victory as she'd first anticipated. At least she'd won in the end, otherwise Scarlett would have been even more frustrated than she already was.

That battle had been tough, for her and her pokemon, and had served as a reminder that she still needed to do a bit more training if she wanted to become a great gym leader, which she did. "You and your pokemon really put us through the wringer," she continued on, moving about as she spoke to collect Scarlett's items. "I'm not much of a bug fan myself, but that Mega Scizor of yours was impressive! His moves were great." By the time she'd finished her little fanfest the young girl stood in front of the redhead, one hand on her hip while the other proudly displayed the badge and TMs, she went on to explain what they were. "Congrats! Here's the gym's badge, the Cobble Badge, the HM Fly and a little extra: TM60, Drain Punch. It oughta come in hand, at some point."

Ajicka raised an eyebrow at her pokemon, who seemed to be having a waffling moment of uncertainty. Luckily, though, it only lasted a second, and he nodded again. Pff... What, had he been trying to act tough or something? She didn't need the act; she knew he was a bit of a scaredy bulb, but she also knew he had the potential to get a lot stronger. "Alright, good," she said, eying him a moment, "... And thanks for dropping the attitude." Ivysaur flushed a bit and shuffled his feet, but gave another nod. Ajicka turned and started towards the gym, but came to an abrupt stop when she saw another trainer entering. No... Noooooo!!

She gritted her teeth, grinding them together a moment. That meant she would have to wait. In which case... She might as well grab some food, for herself and her pokemon. By the time they were done eating, whatever battling was happening would probably be over, and the gym leader would have been able to heal her pokemon. She still wasn't happy about this... but at least it was a good reminder that there were other trainers around.
Releasing some of her other pokemon, she motioned for them to follow, leading the perplexed group back into the pokecenter.

Scarlett for the most part ignored Maylene's post battle speech. Blah blah blah yeah the battle was tough, thank ya so much far rubbin' it in. Where the hell is my badge. She let her team out so that they could go eat, though she stopped Aero to check up on his growth status. "How do ya feel Aero?""Stronger certainly, though it isn't enough...." Scarlett chuckled a bit. "I'm not suggestin' t'would be at this point, just checking in on tha progress. Said ya felt more powerful right? You should be ready ta evolve about neu." She observed. "Do you really believe so...?" Aero asked curiously, looking over himself. Ivysaur sat, his bowl of food in front of him, watching all the pokemon Ajicka had let out eat. There... there were a lot of them. She wasn't kidding when she said she had even more pokemon. He recognized Jolteon, and Bayron (well, sort of), and obviously he knew Elle. But... there were even more fire types now, and some... black hole monster that wouldn't stop eating. Ajicka was glowering at it but it just kept eating. He gulped, looking down at his own food. It was probably a good idea to eat his before it went... noticed. He took a bite, glancing at Fearow, the only other pokemon he was familiar with, then looked down. How much had he missed? Had Ajicka been through anything else? Elle informed him she had got all her badges... So would he be helping her on her next eight? Would he even be able to help? He didn't really have the best move set....

Scarlett then brought her thoughts to Cyrus. She'd wanted the information on him because she wanted to hunt him down and see about stealing the key from him outright, but Zak seemed to have already conveniently set up a meeting with him instead. Boo. Scarlett sighed and pulled up her Xtransciever again, this time intending to send a message rather than expecting to see one. She did need to contact this Cyrus guy after all if she was going to be meeting with him soon. Nimbasa City huh? Shouldn't be too much of a hassle to get to by flying. She flipped open the contact Zak had given her and started to write a new text. The question was though, how to go about introducing herself. As much as she would have loved to just drop into Nimbasa and introduce herself face to face, she needed to know his location specifically, otherwise she could mistake someone else for him.
So if we're going to make this transaction, I'm going to need you to be a little more specific than just Nimbasa City. Where in the city should we meet?
She sent the text. It was anonymous unless Zak gave Cyrus her info as well, but in case of the former, she hoped there were enough in there to clue Cyrus in for who she was. Now, as far as traveling... Scarlett pulled out the HM for Fly that she'd been given, but looking at her pokemon, Scarlett realized with horror that none of her pokemon were actually compatible with the hidden machine. Rave was the only exception, but there was no way that tiny Noibat was going to be able to drag her around. Gamma wouldn't get rocket powered flight until they evolved as well, which meant..... She couldn't... Actually fly. No! Scarlett stood abruptly. There had to be something she could do. Maybe the GTS would have something for her. She could have Cypher hack it and get her something temporary. For now, she let Rave learn Fly since it was a stronger flying type attack than Air Cutter. Afterwards, she returned her team with the exception of Cypher before moving out of the cafeteria and out into the main floor of the center. Up the stairs, Scarlett was able to find the online trade center area. She would make this quick. She searched through the available flying types, but really, nothing caught her interest. Everything available for trade currently was either too small to carry her, or was just too uninteresting to even serve as a temporary mode of transport until Rave evolved. Not to mention, there was a squirtle up for grabs, but she could only really steal one pokemon from there, because as soon as she did, she needed to bolt.
Grumbling with the conflict of interest, Scarlett decided a squirtle was too rare an opportunity to pass up. "That one," Scarlett instructed Cypher. "Captain, a Squirtle is not compatible with Fly." Cypher objected, and Scarlett shot the robot a look. "Ya don't think I know that? Don't worry, I've got this covered, just get me that squirtle and then we're outta here." Scarlett insisted, pulling up her xtransceiver again to make a call while Cypher worked. "Hey Skye, it's me." Scarlett answered when the line picked up. "Well if it isn't the wheel of fortune herself. To what, do I owe the pleasure?" Scarlett grinned. "Sorry hun, it's business this time, not pleasure. I need a ride to Nimbasa, think you and that fearow of yours can do tha job?" Scarlett inquired. "You got it babe. Where should I pick you up?""I'm in Veilstone city." Scarlett explained. "Ah perfect, I'm not too far from there. What's the urgency eh? You sound like you wanna get to Nimbasa right quick." Scarlett rolled her eyes and shook her head, though she was still grinning. "What else? I've got a date of course." She was obviously lying, and made no effort to hide it. "Yeouch! Dat hurts. It really does. How many times have I been acksin' ya to come over?" Scarlett laughed. "Oh get ova yerself Skye. Actin' like ya haven't done the same ta me. Yer a big blowhard, tha's what ya are." Scarlett giggled. "Yeh yeh, whatevuh. The grass starter ate his food in hurried, sporadic bites. He kept zoning off, getting lost in his thoughts-- and then he'd see Munchlax eying one of his teammates food, and remember to try and hurry and eat his. He barely finished, and yet felt incredibly full, when Ajicka stood up, deciding it was time to go to the gym. She recalled everyone save him and Elle, and the two fire pokemon from before, making sure she had everything on her before she started over.
Ivysaur toddled along beside her, glancing nervously back at the two fire pokemon bringing up the rear. And meanwhile, Elle looked so elegant just floating on along on Ajicka's other side. She must have sensed him looking, because she turned her head, offering him a smile as they neared the gym. 'Don't worry, Ivysaur,' she telepathically reassured him, 'Houndoom and Fritz are both very nice. They wouldn't use a fire attack against you.' The ivysaur bowed his head a little, embarrassed that she so easily picked up on his concern. Both looked ahead, though, as Ajicka entered the gym, issued her challenge, and the battle began.

"But in losing, I have learned a great deal. Here, please take this, the Cobble Badge." She presented the badge along with her TM. "This is the TM for Drain Punch, I hope it serves you well." Maylene gave Ajicka a short, courteous bow. "Hai! Thank you for honoring us with such a great battle!" Maylene straightened back up her face serious for a moment, but then relaxing once again into a naive smile as she bid Ajicka farewell and made to leave and heal her pokemon.

Scarlett eyed her prize with a grin as she took it in hand, clipping the squirtle's pokeball to her belt and slipping away quickly before alarm rang out. As she made her way out of the pokemon center, she returned Cypher to his pokeball and looked at her xtransceiver as she got a text from Cyrus, telling her he would be by Nimbasa's Ferris Wheel. Well that would be easy to find. She didn't text him back, figuring it was pointless since she would be there within a few minutes. Skye soon came around and picked Scarlett up, she climbed up onto the fearow, let Rave out to practice flying, and they were off to Unova.

Ajicka seemed to remain in thought as she continued tossing her badge and heading towards the pokecenter. She finally tucked the small piece of metal away as she entered the building, and returned her pokemon so they could all heal up, even those that didn't really battle. She was trying to figure out what her best course of action was... But ultimately, when her pokemon were returned to her, there was one thing she needed to do first. She was pretty sure she wanted to focus on training some of her lower level pokemon, though she might train the stronger ones for a bit first, but she would need to do research before starting on that, and she wanted to check in with Torchic before distracting herself with that task.
Releasing the little fire bird, she crouched down, resting her arms on her knees. Torchic flapped her wings and fluffed her feathers a bit as she was released, then looked attentively up at Ajicka. "Wanted to see how that Exp Share was working," the trainer explained, then raised an eyebrow and tilted her head to the side, "You feeling any stronger?" Torchic gave a chirp, and a nod, looking energized at her own news. Ajicka smirked. "Good. Glad to hear it."
