Volkner, the gym leader seemed the lethargic almost lazy type yet he held an obvious air or power and skill. This man he thought had to be Ko's match as a trainer if not her better. It gave him reason to push more then to just catch up to Ko herself. If he wanted to become powerful then gym leaders like Volkner would be his end goal to beat. He held no real desire to beat the elite four. To much publicity and fame. He might take them on one day but nothing official, besides it held no real purpose to his dreams beyond proving his skill as a trainer. Once in the arena Ohmarow stood back rather then taking a seat. Qungra was sat atop his shoulder. Kezia was to help in the battle it seemed, no question due to her strength. He didn't have anything he could really say to her so when she turned grinning rearing for the fight to come all he could to was give a nod and a thumbs up. Qungra on the other hand. Taking a deep breath she stepped up to the field, looking back towards Ohm. Returning Kezia to her ball, the blonde then turned back towards where Volkner would soon stand. She could feel her heart beating a mile a minute, as if it was fighting to get out of her chest. Raising a hand to her chest she took several deep breaths in. She knew this was going to be hard, and she was okay with the fact that she may lose. That didn't make it any less nerve-raking. At one time Ko knew Volkner's team like the back of her hand, but after her accident and the time she'd spent traveling the word, she couldn't say with any sort of confidence what he'd start with. She knew for a fact that Uth was going to play the biggest part in this battle. She was on the fence about Yakule, being he was fairly new to her team still, and that split-second temper worried her as well. He'd be her last resort if anything. Emyore, the strongest on her team, wasn't a good candidate for this gym, being part water he was weak to 1oo% of Volkner's Pokemon, but the penguin was resilient.. he could deal out plenty of damage before meeting defeat. Viska had Trace, an ability in that she can 'copy' another Pokemon's ability. How that would be useful she wasn't to sure yet. Mila, perhaps was going to be useful as well, with Hurricane... Sunyshore had seen their fair share of those... wouldn't Volkner be surprised if one sprouted up in his gym? Finally Kezia.... Perhaps her Illusion ability could fool Volkner as well, given the way her team was arranged, she'd appear as Uth.... Electric-type moves would be avoided at least.

Volkner entered into the arena from a door on the far side, a Jolteon already at his side. The electric dog pokemon barking and running circles around its trainer who lazily made his way to the gym leader battle square. A blue box painted on his side of the the arena floor. His lazy attitude was quite prominent as he sat atop a stone block left on his end of the battle field. "So Miss Tavenwood your ready to take me on, id expected you sooner. What kept you ... it doesn't matter. Lets see if the wait was worth it humm. Ill start off with jolteon here." With that the Jolteon still cheering around his feet toke its spot on the battle field. Ready to go.
As soon as she felt herself get calm, Volkner appeared. Clutching her hand into a fist ,she kept it resting over her chest. What took her so long? So much.... Lowering her gaze she quickly shook her head of the impending thoughts and motioned her hand forward. "I had to be sure I could withstand a round with you." A show of self-awareness, of her weakness, yes.... perfect for the nerves. Lowering her hand to her bag, she pulled off Uth's ball and tossed it forward. She had no more revives... save the revival herbs, but she didn't feel like risking her connection with any of her Pokemon, especially Uth, by using them. Whatever the case, Uth was her best bet for some quick and decisive knock outs.
The giant serpent dragon appeared with a wave of his bulky and flat tail, letting it wave along the ground. His scales began to light up in a random pattern. It was as if Uth knew how intense this battle was going to get, or perhaps he could feel the tension in the air. It was thick enough to be cut with a chainsaw. 'I may not win, but I'm not going to lose like I wasn't trying.'

It struck Uth in the head having jumped and rolled into a spiking ball only to come slamming down into the legendary's face from above. The dust hadn't even had chance to settle before the pokemon was zipping to a safe distance, out of the Zygarde physical reach. "Good work."
Uth's head lowered with the attack, but it hardly seemed to phase him. He'd grown used to ramming into large boulders of clay or rock, sometimes even the steel beams that held buildings up. His scales flared though, after the attack had struck him. Lowering his head down, he waited until the Jolteon was in view to let out a low hum. "Uth, Earthquake!" Ko called out. Unphased by how very ineffective the attack was Volkner mentally formulated a counter attack. This wasn't going to be a battle he could win by speed or force alone. He'd need to combo the two and press any advantage he could gain. Jolteon wasn't going to win this round but his speed and endurance would earn him rank in understanding his opponents strategy. He had the assumption Kotensa would be opening with that move, though he held hope she would have used a support move first, no such luck. She was going for force of combing her pokemons moves. Jolteon had been left on the ground to recover from the impact of the kinetic energy send at him. "Again, This time aim low." The Zygarde hadn't even flinched from the head strike so he could assume its weak point was perhaps its chest or tail. The lizard held down the Jolteon, unleashing another pulse of energy into the earth causing it to shake and ripple, putting an end to the Jolteon.

Uth, though strong, couldn't withstand the extreme cold and fell forward, his coloured scales dimming. "Uth...." She'd have to use a Revival Herb now.... but, when? As Uth fell Volkners lazy board attitude might have lifted if ever so slightly. A small grin to replace his scowl. Perhaps he had expected more of a fight from the legendary or was simply happy to find he strategy had worked. "Electrode Discharge." The ball pokemon zipped off as Kotensa released her next pokemon, giving it the command for a lucky change. He wasn't concerned with the the move to greatly but it would pose a problem if she revived Uth and sent him back into battle so quickly. Electrode could have him a second time but depending on how soon or how later into the chants effects he could foresee a whide array of out comes not the les of which would be Uth return with a protective field that would greatly hinder and slow his advantage.

Caught by the electrical attack, Mila coiled. She was paralyzed right off the bat, but at least she'd managed to put up her barrier. She'd be able to endure a few attacks at least. Ko in the mean time, nodded towards Qungra's boast of encouragement, holding up a thumb before going threw her bag and pulling out one of the revival herbs... she didn't want to use it, but it had to be done.. once this Electrode was out of the way, she could bring Uth back into the battle, for now Mila seemed unable to attack anyway. Calling Uth out of his ball, she knelled down and pushed the herb into Uth's mouth. It worked like a charm, bringing him back into action. He coiled his body around Ko after seeing Mila on the field. "Mila, here!" Ko called, tossing her a Full Restore. This would get rid of the paralysis at least. "Now try and use Hurricane on that fake Pokeball!" The fox spritzed herself, feeling the medication working almost instantly. She turned with her wand out held and started to muster a small tornado before her, it was quickly growing however, soon it was going to take the full form of a Hurricane.... if she wasn't stopped from doing so at least.

The smile grew as the battle progressed. Ko wasn't a lucky novice at least that much was evident. She timed each move perfectly. Granted he couldn't do much else beyond spam Discharge. The end result were for not as she healed the Delphox returning the playing score back to 1/1. He couldn't help but feel this might actually be an entertaining battle after all. When it seemed the discharge attacks weren't getting him the desired results he switched tac. "Singal beam." He was hopping to confuse the pokemon but to no avail.
Before the attack could take full effect, she felt her muscles cramp again. The Electrode had unleashed another flurry of Discharges, once more paralyzing her. The Hurricane before her died down only a bit, allowing a Signal Beam to get through. She slid back, her claws digging into the floor. "Mila, try again!" The fox growled, pushing through her sore muscles as she built up the Hurricane once more, this time able to launch the attack, she sent a full force Hurricane towards the Electrode. Hopefully it would hit. Hopefully it would confuse. She couldn't afford being confused and paralyzed herself.
