Nanaska and her pokemon slowly strolled into the dark cave once more. Nanaska really had hoped they wouldn't have to come through her again, however, it seemed that her luck was never really any good. In order to get to the lake of rage she'd just have to put up with the cave for the moment. Leo brushed up against her, reassuring her that he was there and that her pokemon would help her if needed. She smiled at the thought, it was a nice gesture and she really appreciated it greatly. Nanaska made sure to keep the egg close to her chest, her arms wrapped around it protectively. Lately the egg seemed to be moving a but, maybe that meant that it was close to hatching. If that was the case, she certainly poked that the little bundle of joy hatched outside the caves. After all she didn't want it to be greeted with darkness, she wanted it to be greeted by sunlight. She smiled fondly at the egg as they continued to walk, what kind of pokemon would come out of it?

Nanaska continued to imagine what kind of pokemon would pop out of her egg. Her pokemon also seemed to ponder what would come out, and they all watched the egg intently. Leo was personally hoping for a little brother, someone who had could play with and protect. Not that the proud fire type would ever admit that out loud. Akaor looked over his shoulder, and tilted his own head to the side as he pawed the egg. She smiled "It seems like it's going to hatch very soon" she commented, humming a bit. Akaor puffed a bit of fire, before nuzzling his small cheek against the egg. After a few more minutes of walking, Nanaska stopped in her tracks as the egg started to shake. She looked down as cracks appeared on the eggs shell. She gasped, as the egg began to hatch "It's hatching!" she exclaimed happily. She watched the egg seemed to almost shin as it cracked open. A small purple like bat appeared in her arms, its small eyes closed. She couldn't wait until it opened its eyes up at her.

The Union cave was fairly dark, but there was still plenty of natural light that filtered in, giving a adequately supplement of light for one to see where they were walking. With Xiao and Lan se in her arms, and Fen on her shoulder, the group didn't have to worry any about getting separated. Wori Wori seemed the most eager to explore, but despite that hyperactive nature, she didn't seem to wander to far from Wei. The path through the Union cave seemed to go straight forward, meaning regardless there was no way to get lost unless they decided to explore, which Wei wasn't to interested in at the time being. She'd prefer getting out of the cave and to the next town, where she could look into finding that ball smith and getting a friend ball crafted for Xiao. Sure she could use a normal Pokeball, but when it came to a friendship evolution it was best to use the proper equipment. This wasn't to say Xiao was the only one that was going to get special treatment, she was intending to find Friend balls for everyone.

As Wei continued on her way though the cave, she found herself humming gently, sub-consciously drifting to a calm day back at the temple. Lan se and Fen didn't mind the humming, settling in as they listened. Xiao had wiggled herself free, leaping down to ride upon Wori Wori's head, a bumpy ride, given the croc's high energy, but Xiao didn't seem to mind in the least, actually chuckling and coaxing Wori Wori to move faster. The croc was of course mindful of the baby on her head, but being a baby herself it wasn't long before the two of them toppled over... well, they did several times, each time both got back up and laughed it off.

It wasn't long before the group finally saw daylight once more. The end of Union cave was a mere hop, skip and a jump away. Though, it wasn't like anyone really noticed until they reached the mouth of the cave and the soft downpour on the next route awoke Wei from her daydream. "Oh dear... It's raining." She stated, tucking herself back under the cave's mouth. With a slight sigh, she glanced upward towards the sky. "Doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon either." What were they to do now? Wandering around in the rain wasn't a good idea, she didn't want to chance anyone getting sick, and with Lan se still weak, it wasn't in her best interest to head out there.
"'Ello Miss." Echoed a voice from within the cave. "You were the one a humming all the way through the cave weren't yea?" Wei turned to find the voice belonged to a man dressed all in brown, head to toe in pockets. Wei nodded, though she felt slightly embarrassed to hear she'd been humming loud enough for others to hear. "I was." She replied "It was mighty soothing, me' Onix and I loved it, but anyway.. you were heading to Azalea town correct?" Wei once more nodded. "I was..." Well, there wasn't anywhere else to go was there? "Well, if'n you were thinkin' of waitin' for the rain ta stop, you'll be here for awhile. That rain never stops." Wei found herself grow wide-eyed. "Yep, don't rightly know why, but it only rains outside of the Union cave for about half a mile, 24/7. Best just run on through it till you reach the sunnyside." He chuckled some at this. "Of course, You could borrow my umbrella." He stated, holding out a bright yellow object. Wei tilted her head some. "But... what will you do?" She pondered. "Don' worry none about me." The male stated, waving his other hand. "I'm used to the rain, won't bother me none, me' wife just makes me carry one just encase. Jus' leave it with tha Nurse Joy at tha Pokemon Center, I'll pick it up before sundown." Wei was still a bit hesitant, but in the end she extended her hand and took the object. Wei had dealt with Umbrellas before, it rained pretty often up on the mountain, though the umbrella she used was usually made from bamboo it still had the same concept, just push up the center do-dad and it holds the rest of it open. Fen didn't mind holding it while Wei gathered up Xiao. Wori Wori was perfectly find in the rain, already outside dancing around in the soft drizzle. With a bow and another thank you to the man, Wei set off, able to finally make her way to Azalea.

Nanaska smiled, still waiting for the little bundle in her arms to hatch. She was super excited about this, she had never actually hatched an egg before so this was going to be very exciting. The little bat pokemon took its time waking up, its eyes fluttering open ever so slightly before bright light flooded in. The little baby pokemon winced, burying its head in the nape of Nanaska's neck to hid from the sudden intrusion of light. Nanaska laughed, cuddling the little guy "there there, no worries you can take your time getting used to your new environment" she cooed softly. The bat pokemon's ears twitched, and his head turned towards Nanaska again. It seemed rather curious as to who it was that was holding him, so he tried again. He opened his eyes, this time expecting the sudden shower of light. He endured it and blinked a few times before his vision became clear. It was then that the little guy finally noticed Nanaska, and he seemed to be studying her intently. Nanaska remained silent, waiting for the new-born to do its thing.
Eventually the baby then started reaching up for her, nibbling a bit of her hair. She laughed again "ok ok, you're hungry right? You won't like my hair I promise, let me just get you some fruit ok?" she said, before turning towards he bag. After rummaging through it, she plucked up a fruit and held it out "this one good?" she asked, holding it out. The bat pokemon frowned, and cried as it shook its head "no?" she said, before looking through her bag once more. However, before she knew it the pokemon was diving into her bag head first, lunging for a very particular fruit at the bottom of the bag. Once it had its hands on it, it chowed down. Nanaska watched as it ate the thing in seconds, and then proceeded to fall asleep "huh, well then guess we'll let you get some sleep then" she said, before getting up. It was then that she left the cave, backtracking to violet city and towards her third badges location.

After a good night's rest for everyone at the Pokemon Center, Lucille and Samson started off for the Union Cave. While she was leery to get into another cave, the high from her first successful gym battle got her riled up and ready for another match. And, though she kicked herself for not recording her bout, she was still looking fondly to the next event that was coming around the corner. Nevertheless, she kept Samson from running too fast. I can't let you hurt yourself, old man! she had thought. So, the arcanine only dashed at a moderately quick speed, as the Legendary Pokemon is still lightning fast.
And they were lucky enough to find Union Cave to be much easier to traverse, as it was lit much better that the Dark Cave, and there was much more room to maneuver. It was much less scary when the mute could see the wild Pokemon that were hiding off in the shadows from more than a few feet away. As a matter of fact, one such Pokemon started coming for them, a Houndour barking loudly. Okay, Lil Gena! Let's go! Samson skidded to a halt, and his trainer tossed out the totodile and popped Helmy-chan out to sit on her lap for the relay. Use water gun to take out that Houndour! Helmy-chan relayed the information, and Lil Gena blasted two shots of water to faint the angry dog. With the foe dispatched, Lucille praised all three of them, and the team continued on.
Union cave was... Admittedly not what Natalia had expected. "I remember caves being a dark place with lots of rocks, not... Water." She commented. "I suppose so. Dark Cave is more like that, but Union Cave is known for its waterways connecting all the way out to the ocean. People have even reported seeing Lapras on occasion." Nyomii informed her. "I see... I suppose that explains the interesting rock formations." Natalia mused, approaching one of the walls near the water and admiring the ridges carved into it from time and weathering. "Yes, the salty waters here certainly erode their way through the cave faster than fresh water." Nyomii agreed, though she couldn't help but notice a different reaction from her psychic sight coming from one of the rocks, waves of strange energy reflecting back at her. "Hm...? What's this?" Nyomii put her paws on the rock formation to prop herself and get a better look. "Oh wow... What a pretty rock~" Nyomii seemed to have found a multicolored stone. It pulsed faintly with energy, but as they drew near, it flashed brilliantly.
Each of the colors fled from the stone, separating into small orbs of energy that began to hover around Nyomii, spinning faster and faster and enveloping her in their light. "Wah! Nyomii!" Natalia panicked for a moment, not quite sure what was going on, but thankfully as the light dimmed, Nyomii returned as well, though she certainly looked a lot different. A good different, Natalia supposed. "Oh... Goodness... Um... Are you alright?" She asked. "I... Er... I think so?" Nyomii sounded a bit dazed. She didn't feel too different, but her purple fur had been bleached white, as if sapped by the colorful energy that now floated around her. No, not sapped.... That wasn't the right word, Natalia thought. Purified... She was a dazzling white. She was.... "Beautiful..." Natalia murmured, causing the espeon to blush slightly. "P-pardon...?" Looking through Natalia's eyes, Nyomii saw herself and quietly gasped. "Oh... Oh my..." Whatever that stone had been, it had certainly worked wonders on her appearance.

Seeing Nyomii in her beautiful new form, Natalia felt a surge of inspiration. "Can I draw you?!" She asked. "R-right now???" Nyomii felt a bit taken aback by Natalia's sudden enthusiasm, albeit flattered. "Hm..." Natalia looked around the cave, actually debating if she would even feasibly be able to sit and draw Nyomii under this environment. "Why don't we at least wait until we get to Azalea Town." Nyomii insisted with a light chuckle. "I don't think it would be a good idea to attempt a portrait here." Natalia supposed the espeon was right, but.... "The lighting won't be quite the same in town. I love the contrast between your white form and the dark cave." She explained. "You're right though... It'd be hard to draw you here.... Maybe when we get to Ilex Forest? It'll have a similar lighting at least, especially at night. Plus it'll be more comfortable for both of us~" Nyomii nodded, seeming fine with this compromise. If they were to do natural portaits, she would much prefer the forest.
Blaze perked up at the idea of Natalia taking some time to draw them. ('Hey! What about me? Can't you draw me too?') Natalia chuckled at her enthusiasm. "I don't see why not~" She agreed. It wouldn't be fair of her to draw Nyomii only after all. Natalia knew she did want to draw each member of her team at some point. Maybe that would help her remember them better. "That sounds like a fine idea. Maybe we can pack a picnic?~ Make an evening out of it." Nyomii suggested, though she admittedly had ulterior motives. The longer Natalia spent in Ilex, the more likely she was to run into Aiden instead of escaping and eluding him as she'd planned. "Sure~ That sounds nice." Thankfully it seemed Natalia didn't suspect a thing. It was as if she'd all but forgotten her plans to escape Aiden. Nyomii wasn't sure why that was exactly, but she wouldn't question it when she could use Natalia's lapse in memory to her advantage.

The cave was very straightforward and much better signage, so Samson and Lucille made great time through the cave. It would be not but another hour or so before they would make it to Azalea Town in no time. The path forward was clear for the most part, so the Arcanine dashed with effortless skill to the other side of Union Cave. They only stopped when a wild Pokemon appeared in front of them, looking for a fight. The mute sent out the Helmetion whilst still mounted up on Samson, and watched the battle unfurl. Helmy-chan was to go up against a Stunky, a foul-smelling Pokemon that Tried everything it could to land a hit on the ghostly helm, but not even its Poison Gas affected it. Hon hon hon! Pardon moi, but let's end this, shall we?
Helmy-chan let out a battle cry as she tackled the Stunky into submission. Hm! Hardly even a challenge! Shall we continue, my lady? Lucille smiled and offered a nod of agreement, and they sallied forth.
As they neared the end of the cave, Natalia felt nervous, though she wasn't quite sure why. "So... I've done this before, right?" She asked Nyomii. "Yes. We got as far as Goldenrod City, preparing to fight Whitney--the next town and gym leader after Azalea and Bugsy." Nyomii clarified. "So.... This might seem like an odd question, but... What happened last time we came through here?" Natalia asked curiously. Nyomii kept calm, but she knew exactly why Natalia felt so nervous. "Last time...." Nyomii sighed. Last time, they'd encountered a mysterious masked figure who had blocked their exit, and then everything went downhill. Natalia re-encountered Isis, escaped her, only to fight off an old Void acquaintance. Though Natalia had lost her memory, it made sense that such an experience would leave an impression and evoke uneasy feelings as she passed through here again.
('Found you.')
It seemed they weren't about to escape Union Cave without yet another reunion. Black feathery wings extended, blocking out the light at the end of the tunnel, a red eye glinting menacingly at the small group. "Ezio?" Nyomii frowned. "Who's Ezio?" Natalia asked, though she had a pretty good feeling. ('How convenient for you to forget.') Ezio snapped, pacing back and forth along the exit with his haunches low, as if ready to pounce. ('You left me for two years, but I've been waiting and training for this day. The day I'll defeat you in combat....') He growled. "That's quite enough." Nyomii hissed. ('Shut up and stay out of this, you old blind hag. This is between me and Vesper.') Ezio snapped. "Vesper?" Why did she have so many names? Nyomii wasn't paying much attention to Natalia's confusion though, she was more offended by being called an old hag. "How DARE you!" Nyomii prepared a dazzling gleam to put the absol in its place, but Ezio was faster. Much faster. He came in with a sucker punch that knocked Nyomii to the ground and kept her there. ('Too bad all those pretty colors don't give you any real strength.') Ezio smirked. "Nyomii!" Natalia raced to her side but Ezio turned on her, pouncing and tackling her to the ground with a claw pressed against her throat. Natalia struggled under his weight and gasped for air. ('I thought you said you could defeat me any time you wanted? You disappoint me Vesper, though, this wouldn't be the first time.') He sneered. ('You've grown too soft, too easy. All I've had to do was bide my time.')
Blaze had extinguished her fire in order to sneak around in the dark of the cave and attempt to attack Ezio from behind while he was distracted. She attempted to punish the absol with a devastating brick break, but Ezio had detected her and blocked the attack. ('Pathetic, all of you. Is this the best you can muster?!') He released Natalia with disgust and turned towards the entrance of the cave. ('Let's go already. You aren't in good enough shape to fight Whitney, much less Void.') He growled lowly.
Natalia was still gasping for air, wondering what the hell had happened. For a moment, she thought she was going to die, but now he was... Sparing them? Or maybe it had never really been his intent to kill them in the first place. Natalia returned Nyomii and Blaze into their pokeballs quickly, quietly promising to heal them once they got to the pokemon center in Azalea. Why she was following this absol who'd just attacked her, she wasn't sure, but... Somehow she felt like his intentions weren't necessarily bad, even if she didn't really like being attacked.

Near the exit of Union Cave, Helmy-chan ended up in another fight with another Stunky. It didn't end up being all that exciting, but Lucille was happy to see the victory nevertheless. Once everything was said and done, the team took a break. Samson lied down on the side of the path, and Lucille sat down, leaning on him gently. You know, it sure is weird that we keep getting attacked by Dark-type Pokemon. And it's been mostly Dark-type Pokemon, too. Helmy-chan perked up at the thought, and mulled it over. Well, isn't that interesting, she commented. Perhaps you've cursed yourself, madame. But, that would mean you'd have meddled with something you shouldn't. Lucille thought it over, and snapped her fingers. Oh yeah! I lit that fancy licorice incense! Once I lit that, I've been attacked! Helmy-chan gasped. You lit some mysterious incense?! Madame, that was very foolish! I'm afraid to say, but we'll be hunted down for quite some time because of those cursed things! Lucille's face got red, and she hid her head in her beanie. Sorry, everyone. Helmy-chan wasn't sure how to respond, so she remained silent. It was Lucille herself that perked back up as she stood up. Oh well! At least we'll get lots of training in, right? Let's go! The mute lead the way, and the group found themselves leaving the cave and heading into Azalea Town. Exit to: Azalea Town
Lucille stepped confidently into Union Cave, which was the quickest way to get back to Azalea Town from Violet City. She had a real spring in her step, and she felt like she was going to make great time! That's right! Nothing's gonna stop me now! It was then that the Zubat swooped down and tried to attack her beanie. Ack! Get away! Lil Gena, help me out here! She tossed out the Totodile's ball, and she didn't need orders to know what needed to be done. Lil Gena leered at the Zubat to get its attention, and in turn got attacked with a swing of the bat's wings. That just so happened to put it in perfect chomping range, and Lil Gena chomped right on the Zubat. It was knocked out clean in one go.
But then, a Sandile emerged from the darkness, ready to fight as well! Lil Gena fired a scalding hot spray of water at it, which took it out of the picture quickly. Wow, who knew that TM would be so strong! Good work, Lil Gena! Lucille picked up the gator, and continued forward.

Lucille sprayed her Totodile with a potion to take care of the scratch it had gotten from the nasty little Zubat. You sure are scrappy, Lil Gena, Lucille commented to herself. When I first got you, a move like that would've put you out of commission! You've gotten so strong recently. Lil Gena reacted to the nurturing by taking a bite at Lucille, who was still too slow to see it coming. She let out a silent "ow!" and set Lil Gena back on the cave floor. Fine, no snuggles for you, mean girl! The Totodile didn't seem to mind; she seemed to be all sorts of riled up, and itching for a fight. So, when a wayward Geodude popped its head up from the dirt, Lil Gena let it have it with Scald. It was KO'd immediately. The same thing happened to the second Sandile that showed up as well. Lil Gena! What's gotten into you?

Once again, Lucille and Lil Gena were beset upon by a wild Pokemon. This time, an angry Rattata jumped out, blocking their path. And once more, Lil Gena took care of it. She ran up ahead to fight off a retreating Sandile as well, dispatching it with ease. Geez, you're kind of a bully, Gena, Lucille thought. She thought a little harder on it, however; maybe she's close to evolving? That might explain why she's getting herself so worked up. Well, that's fine! We'll have a real work out when we reach Azalea Town! As if to put a point on it, the exit of the cave came into view. Lucille returned the feisty Totodile, and popped out into the afternoon light. Alright! Here we go!
