Not long after the sound of Thunder resonated within the cave, a Zubat came flapping it's way towards the small group. Lexera attempted a Thunder from standing up, finding herself loosing balance, nearly missing her target. When she finally recovered Avikna was there with a nod of approval this time. Lexera might not all quite be there, but she certainly felt something was off about Avikna, she found no warmth in her trainers eyes; at least not enough for her to feel the praise was 1oo percent genuine. The sheep ignored this though, quickly getting distracted by a Geodude.

The Geodude wasn't alone however. It was actually joined by another Rattata. Sending Zelda forward, Avikna motioned towards the Geodude. "Zelda you use Surf, Lexera, hold your ground." Holding her ground was the most of Lexera's troubles. Felling the crash of the waves behind her, she stumbled forward falling to her belly. The foe's taken cared of, there wasn't much worry over Lexera falling over, though it did upset Avikna some. Failure wasn't something she cared to have around her, though.... she subsided her displeasure, she wouldn't take it out on Lexera... it was a lot to ask of her to take that hit. Knelling down the red-head began to heal up Lexera, looking instead towards Zelda with a nod of approval.

Pressing forward after Lexera was all healed up, Avikna and company came across a split in the path. One way lead straight forward while the other turned to the left. She opted for the straight forward path. Though she was quickly halted by a Geodude. All by itself, Avikna motioned Zelda forward to take care of it. A quick wash of water later, and the Geodude was gone. Resting a hand on her hip, she thought about turning back and trying the other path, feeling this Geodude had been an omen. However, she shook her head of the thought, finding it was purely silly to think of things like that.

After continuing forward some more she actually found the straight forward path curved, leading to a path that intertwined with the earlier path... they'd both lead to the same place. Letting out a sigh, Avikna folded her arms. "Are ye los' miss?" Asked an unfamiliar voice from before them. A man stepped forward, a large grin across his bearded face. "I'm a hiker, lass. I know all 'bouh 'hese caverns." He continued. Avikna narrowed her eyes, more or less curious about his speech patterns. Eventually with a shake of her head, she replied.
"I'm not lost. The path looks pretty straight forward." The hiker nodded, his doopey grin never wavering.
"I, suppose ih is. 'hen how abou' 'his, we have a baddle?" He seemed to have troubles.... or simply the lack of ability to say 't's', which was very... awkward for Avikna. She'd never heard of anyone with a problem like that, unless it was with h's'. Whatever the case she was going to judge a potential opponent. He might just hold some good experience for Zelda and Lexera.
"Sure, I'm okay with that." She replied.
"Good, good! 'hen lez begin." He replied, tossing forward a poke ball which contained his first Pokemon. A Marill.

Of course Avikna choose to send forward Lexera, being she held a type advantage. The male called the first attack, and the Marill moved at a quick speed, slamming enough power into Lexera's body to send the poor sheep tumbling backward. Just how strong was this Marill? "Lexera, Return." Avikna quickly called, returning the Flaaffy to her ball. "Zelda, go." Zelda nodded, floating forward with a narrowing gaze.
'Oh, was I 'oo rough on 'heh liddle one?' The hiker grinned... he'd planned this. What was this guy doing here with such a strong Pokemon? Oh, Avikna knew... bullies like him were abundant in the Pokemon world. Come to some low level cave, and bully new trainers into giving up something precious to them. Well, this guy picked the wrong person to bully.
"Zelda, Sludge bomb." Zelda narrowed her eyes at the Hiker and his Marill. He'd pay dearly for harming Lexera in that manner. Spitting up a ball of sludge from deep within her body, she tossed the orb at the Marill, covering it in thick goop.
"Marill, Aqua Ring!" The Hiker shouted.
"To late, you pissed me off." Avikna stated, motioning forward. "Zelda, Sludge Bomb!"

As the hiker's Marill fainted, Avikna crossed her arms. He appeared absolutely speechless. "I'm not a new trainer, you a*****e." She stated her eyes narrowing with fire held within them. "And even if I was, bullying new trainers is not something you should be doing. Leave this cave and never return. Go someplace with trainers your own league. No, better yet, just don't battle anymore. You're a pathetic excuse for a trainer." Pressing forward, Avikna passed by the speechless man. Mave made it her mission to ram into the man, knocking him flat on his a** to join in his Marill's humiliation.

Though as soon as they were far enough away, Avikna stopped to quickly used a revive on Lexera. When that was done, she released Lexera, to check for any additional wounds. Lexera herself seemed fine, letting herself be pulled and pushed either which way as she was looked over. Mave sat down beside the redhead with a grin. 'That was certainly unexpected.' She stated. Avikna nodded, glancing up towards the wolf.
"I despise bullies like that." Standing up, Avikna was satisfied with Lexera's condition. For a moment she stood there, thinking more on the male before finally pressing forward.

Her anger wasn't quite yet subsided, but after seeing a Zubat come flapping it's way towards them, she noted this chance for Lexera to gain some redemption. "Thunder it, Lexera." Avikna ordered, motioning forward towards the bat. She nodded, quickly launching her attack. The Zubat didn't stand a chance, falling in a heap after being electrocuted. Continuing forward, Avikna brushed a hand along Lexera's wool, feeling the tingle of static eletricity as she did so. She was getting more and more use to it the more she rubbed her hand along Lexera's wool. Strangely enough it was starting to feel good, like a gentle massage along her hand that tingled up her forearm all the way to her elbow.

Yet another Zubat appeared from the depths of the cave, this time joined with a Geodude. Feeling Lexera had had enough of getting hit, Avikna called for Play Rough from Zelda this time around. The move was perfectly capable of taking down the Geodude. Lexera of course dealt with the Zubat with Thunder. Two more Pokemon to bite the dust. Nothing was much of a challenge in this cave, even Lexera might as well be ready to take on some of the Geodudes all by herself soon enough. Gunk Shot being her only usable move against the rock and ground-types, it certainly wasn't going to take them out in one shot, but Lexera could also take a hits long enough for them to work on the rocks.

Seemingly the perfect opportunity arose when a Sandshrew dug itself up from the ground. Though, Avikna quickly recognized the danger revolved around Lexera getting poisoned. She had something to heal it of course, but she also rug the risk of it knowing a ground-type move. "Zelda, Surf." Floating forward to the lead, Zelda unleashed her watery attack, sending the Sandshrew back into it's tunnel. Folding her arms, she glanced over to Lexera. The sheep appeared to be staring absently into the cave, it's gaze reaching nothing in particular. Something she'd need to break the sheep from doing, it was a liability to have a wandering mind. Thinking of which, Avikna stepped forward, finding herself upset over her sudden distraction... was absentmindedness contagious? Likely not...

It must have simply been boredom settling in. The cave was monotone and humdrum, leaving little sense to Avikna's 'Trill-o-meter' Training on such weak Pokemon was likely another reason she was feeling off. Lexera took care of yet another Rattata as they advanced through the cave. The exit was drawing closer and closer. Reaching up her arms in a stretch, she glanced over to Mave for a moment, feeling the urge to speak to the the wolf... the silence in her head was starting to get to her. Mave quickly replied with a chuckle, pushing away Avikna's urge to speak to the wolf... Mave was quick to remind her of how annoying she was. 'Oh come on, I'm not that annoying, am I?' The wolf pondered, a grin appearing on her maw. Avikna folded her arms, turning her gaze away.
"You can be." She replied. Zelda glanced back for a moment, but her confusion was quickly settled when Mave grunted something audible. The kelp seahorse floated over to Lexera, keeping a slight distance from the static induced electric-type.
'You're no box of rainbows yourself.' Mave stated. 'I find you annoying from time to time myself. Mostly over how strubborn you can be.' Avikna shrugged her shoulders.
"You'd rather me be more of a pushover?" She asked. Of course this wasn't what Mave meant, and to ruin the risk of starting an argument, the wolf shook her head.
'No, I don't."

'I just wish sometimes, you'd be more open-minded.' Avikna thought on this for a moment, then with a concerned look she met Mave's gaze.
"Am I really that close-minded?" The innocent curiosity that came from Avikna's tone and look shocked Mave some. The wolf quickly shook her head.
'You can be, sometimes, but I suppose it's really only when the time calls for high speculation and suspicion.' Loosening her arms some, the red-head eventually dropped a hand to her side, the other to the strap of her bag.
'There is a lot I need to change about myself, I know that. It's hard though, I need to change, but I can't, not yet.' Avikna let out a sigh, glancing up to find they'd made it to the exit. It wouldn't be long before they were finally in Azalea Town.

With no need to linger around Azalea, Avikna planned on getting the badge and skipping clean over the Ilex Forest. She didn't really want to deal with woods stuck in perpetual darkness. Having been to both Goldenrod and Ecruteak before, she could make quick travel to the two cities which housed gyms. From Ecruteak however, she'd need to return to walking, there was something she wanted to check out along the route west of Ecruteak anyway, so it worked out.

Her pace was slowed to a halt as the sound of ever falling rain echoed into the cave. Three Pokemon stood in Avikna's path, set to be the red-head's final obstacle. The first was a Rattata, the second an Onix and finally the last,; a Sandshrew. The Rattata struck first, the Onix used it's body to block the cave, drowning out the sound of the rain once more. Avikna frowned, folding her arms. "Lexera." The sheep knew well enough by now what she was meant to do. a crackle of thunder later and the Rattata was gone. The Onix and Sandshrew however were not going to be so easily dealt with.. not with Lexera at least.

Shifting forward, the Onix lowered it's head with a growl. Avikna quickly motioned Zelda forward. The Skrelp as well knew just what to do. The Onix, seemingly fearing for the Sandshrew's well being,coiled it's snake-like body around the little rodent, protecting it from the waters. Though as soon as it knew it was defeated, the rock snake took it's leave, heading deeper in the cave, leaving only the Sandshrew behind. The small creature was all that stood between Avikna and freedom from the cave. She unfolded her arms and rested one on her hip, the other on the strap of her bag. "Deal with that one too, Zelda."

While Zelda quickly dealt with the Sandshrew, Lexera's wandering eyes fell upon a group of mushrooms. Normally, a her diet would consist of grass and leaves, but this morsel just looked to good to pass up. Falling to all fours, the sheep lazily made it's way over to the group of fungai. Picking off a few she munched on them before moving on to another group, unknowingly snatching up a peculiar mushroom, one that gave her a slight boost in strength, but only for a moment.

Avikna's call for her to follow pulled the sheep away from the mushrooms. Rejoining the group she stood back up on her hind legs and followed, finding her balance was somehow better. This was likely due to her acknowledgement of her tail, the long ringed tail held a light blue orb at it's end, the greater storage of her electricity.

With all her Pokemon in tow, Avikna set out into the rainy route. Her badge was a stones throw away.

Nanaska and her team left the city after getting the first badge of the Johto region. It was also Nanaska's very first badge, and that made her very happy. Leo and Aurora, her friends had thought she wasn't serious about being a trainer or a ranger, and thus refused to follow her until she proved herself. Nanaska seeing them being so stubborn took on the challenge, and when she completed it she was confident she could try to get the other badges too. Leo and Aurora had given her an apologetic hug of sorts to apologize for being so irrational. They vowed to follow her after that, and she was happy to hear that they were going to co-operate with her from now on. After all she had missed their company a lot. Once the city was out of view, they made their way towards the Union Caves. Nanaska shivered, she wasn't a fan of caves, but that didn't mean she'd cower from them. She made sure the egg was warm and secure in her arms, as Akaor wrapped himself around her neck. Aurora hovered at her side, smiling softly as she encouraged her forwards. Tsuki jumped on her head, chuckling a bit at Tsuko's twisted up tongue. It seems that Tsuki thought it would be funny to tie it around his feet in one swift movement for revenge.

Nanaska shot him a glare, but the fox pokemon didn't seem fazed by it. Tsuko, who was very calm didn't retaliate, but you could tell he was very agitated to say the least as he untangled his tongue. Leo simply watched all this happen, and rolled his eyes. You could tell these two were like brothers in a way, more so to the fact that Tsuki the little brother seemed to want to tease the elder brother. Nanaska sighed "well at least they seem to get along" she commented. It was then that the dim light in the cave embraced them, and Leo thought it might be a good idea for Nanaska to ride on his back as they traveled through the cave. So he lifted her up and roared softly as Nanaska yelped a bit before balancing herself. She looked over at Leo "I could have walked you know, but thanks for the gesture. Now lets get going!" she said, as Leo walked forward, Aurora and Tsuko at their side.

Nanaska looked around the cave, as they made their way through it. It was a lot dimmer in here, so of course it was harder to see. Leo seemed to know where he was going, so she left it to him to lead them safely through the cave. Aurora on the other hand had become a bit sheepish. She didn't seem to like the darkness the cave provided, and so she was surprised to feel Aurora hold onto her sleeve as she floated through the air closely. Tsuko also walked closely to them, his arms crossed as he looked from side to side in order to see if anything was coming their way. She was thankful that her pokemon were so alter. It was always a good thing to be prepared. They continued forwards, "alright guys, we're almost there, so just a little longer and we'll be out of this cave" she said. With that, she looked forwards and started to see a bit of light come her way.

Nanaska and her pokemon trotted through the cave without any incidences. Nanaska was relieved about that, after all she didn't really want to have another incident like the one Tsuki caused earlier. That would have been a disaster. Worst case scenario they could have been separated and then they'd be looking all over for each other in the cave. She shivered at the thought, which gained Leo's attention. He stopped moving, and looked up at her a bit concerned. Nanaska blinked, and looked at him smiling softly "sorry, I was just thinking about how much of a pain it would have been if we all got separated, what a stupid thought right? We'd never get separated after all" she chirped. Leo growled in agreement, as did her other pokemon. She was just glad she had such understanding pokemon, after all she could have had a lot more troublesome pokemon. She was really thankful that she didn't have to deal with troublemakers... well except for Tsuki. He was starting to learn though, which was good. Eventually, a light could be seen as they exited the cave and entered into Azalea Town. She smiled "finally, lets go guys!" she said, as they left the cave.
