Mavie made her way across the plains, the sun was scorching and the ground was hot on her paws. She could almost feel the heat thick in the air, clinging onto her pelt. She felt the sweat build up under her coat and she decided to go into a light run until she could find some shade or water.
She finally came across a small pool of water surrounded by very few trees. She made her way across and straight into the water. She felt it's shallow depths creep up to her belly as she made her way in, sparing no time to the cool water soak into her fur. She dipped in and gave a good shake before coming out to sit under the shade of the trees.
She felt renewed and refreshed now that she could escape the sun's heat.
