Word Count Till Page 13:
Nikita: 18195
Riot: 15487

The sun had just begun to crest over the hills, casting it's golden rays over the forest and into the deserts. Above head, the thick canopy of leaves filtered the golden rays into an emerald glow below them. Cracks in the overhead cover leaked this golden light in spot-lights here and there throughout the wood.

The birds also begun to stir. Each with their own soft song to sing about where they might find the early worm.

Nikita's ears twitched to the sudden rise in chorus of woodland sounds. Her eyes soon followed suit in becoming more aware to the surroundings. At first, everything was a blur of colors. It took a moment for the world to come into a clear view, in which she could see that Riot's paw was still securely on her brow and her frame had not moved an inch.

It had only been about three hours since she had initially drifted to sleep. The time could still be felt on her eyelids, as they demanded to fall closed again. However, Nikita refused to grant them their wish. She had slept less before. This had been the deepest sleep she had gotten and for the most part it was pretty peaceful. At least this time it was not plagued with nightmares.

Her sides rose as she drew in a deep breath, than, slowly deflated again as she released it softly.

She glanced over to Riot to see what kind of state he was in, if he was even awake. Did he still sleep like a rock?

As Nikita own ears shifted, showing she was waking, Riot's own ears angled towards her. She would wake to the sound of Riot's rocky purr rattling intune with the chirping of birds. His maw, remained unmoved as not even a inch from her own.

Wide azure and staring eyes, watched Nikita as she slept. Yes, he had been awake for a few hours, taking that time he just watched her as she slept. His mind was cleared of fog, and he looked on her as if the first time he had seen her in a cart long time.

Tail tapped alive, as she took in a breath, and the warmth was heaved on his own maw. Riot's heavy and deep purr only rattled and shook the earth more, if it was at all possible. His own breathing quickened in excitement, hind paws shifted as if wanting to claw himself closer. He remained still.

She was waking!

The heavy paw on her harder then rock like head, it flexed slightly gripping gently....

Nikita had yet to focus her eyes on the large azure 'gems' watching her carefully from merely inches away. It was as if her own mind's fog had prevented that while she was listening to the birds and waking more herself. However, as she looked forward and suddenly felt that large paw gripping at the top of her head, she held her breath than released it a brief moment later.

Crimson eyes watched carefully at the other's contrasting orbs. She than noticed the subtle vibrations in the earth with each given 'purr' of Riot's. What was that all about?

Those bright crimson eyes narrowed on him a moment. Yet, she did nothing to knock the large paw away or to move her nose away from his. Instead, she continued to watch him silently. Even her breaths seemed to quiet while her entire from mirrored this 'stealth mode' which, again, likely helped gain her infamous nickname.

No, Riot didn't sleep like a rock anymore. Now he slept like a mountain, avalanche rumbles and all.

In all this staring, she had not noticed that a good amount of time had passed whithout a word.

Blue eyes contained to take in the wonder that was Nikita. Her white and Crimson fur and how it seemed to unnaturally glisten by the few Rays that sneeked past the leaves of the trees. Her Crimson eyes seemed to blaze settled against the black scalra of her eye. The narrowed eyes she gave him, Riot couldn't help but smile regardless.

"It really is you...." Left Riot in a whisper, the purring paused as the words left him and retuned as his maw closed. His paw kindly flexed and released on the Nikita's head, his paw remained on her head. He didn't dare move it, not just yet...

Riot had always watched the sunrise, but-even such a beauty couldn't remove his eyes from the Nahtill that narrowed her own at him.

"The sun its self can't compete with the breathtaking fire that is your eyes." Left Riot, as the adult that was once the vary cub, that asked her if 'it hurt, when she fell from heaven'.

Tail tip shifted in a little raise and tap. His other paw gripped and flexed in the soft grass...

Nikita's eyes closed briefly while Riot flexed his paw atop her forehead. She didn't mind it at all. In fact, like him, she did nothing to remove the paw from her brow. Her head remained unmoved.

Slowly Nikita re-opened her eyes as Riot begun to speak. She drew in abreath in preperation to respond, something along the lines of "Were you expecting another to wake up to", however, the words were dropped from her tongue before even her maw could part a fraction. Really? Did he just go there?

Once again her eyes narrowed.

"... You and Bob spend this long time practicing sweet words?" Nikita inquired with a quirk of her brow.

The tip of her tail flicked in tune with the quirk. To be honest, she had been without such words for so long, the idea of sweet words were not as cherished to her. Or that she was aware of at the moment. For now, it seemed more odd. Partof her had expected him to give a marching order, or something along the lines.

Still, he was trying. Perhaps she needed to put some effort out there. She couldn't even begin to imagine what he was going through right now. He seemed happy... what to say... what did he like to hear again...

"... Your fat head is still grander than any mountain..." Nikita spoke in a hushed tone. Nailed it.

Riot's pur only rattled a chuckle at caused his eyes to close for only a moment. She was a lot quicker, and sharper then he remebered as a cub. Not that she was dull and slow as a cub, she was just more seasoned and sharpened now. she would do well to keep him on his toes...

"No, we didn't have time for such things...." Riot answered, opening his eyes he looked at Nikita's own narrowed one. Those where actually from his own thoughts when he had time to watch the sunrise everymorning, it gave hope to a new day, a hope for this....moment.

"Ah..." Riot's own brow rose, to the complament. He did well to hold back a laugh, to her attempt. As much as he wanted to laugh...

"Well, thank you..." He nodded, giving a smile to her. Bright eyes, wildly blazed with adventure and dash of arrogance.

"I take pride in my fathead." Riot stated, after all he went head to head with a fire triber...not a lot of Balam could claim that.

Picking up his paw he started to remove it from her head.

Nikita huffed to Riot's graqtitude toward her complament. Obviously it was a cubbish one. He wanted to laugh, how could he not? Even Nikita could see it was just silly.

As Riot begun to move his paw away from her forehead, Nikita shifted a little to bring her paw up and over his own. Carefully she begun to pull it back to her forehead. She wasn't done with that just yet.

"Well than, you have done well to practice with your reflection." Nikita added while she worked to claim that paw again.

There were still marching orders coming right? That part of NIkita still ingrained in the culture she had just fled from was still expecting some 'normalicy' to her day. this was the first day she had woken up 'free'. Technically. The previous nap didn't count...

Her tail flopped about on the ground again, this time still as soft as the last. Every movement, thought of or not, was as stealthy as can be.

"I can see where you would store such pride. It does well to maintain it's ......stature."

Riot let Nikita pull his paw back with out any resistance at all, his purring only hopped in a chuckle.

"Not too often, I would only have a river to assist me." Riot told her as she worked on her compliments.

Eyes curiosity watched her, as she stated and commented on his structure.

"Nikita," Riot chuckled once more, "You don't have to say anything, just was just mearily pointing out an observation." He let her know, his tail shifted as if to answer her own in a thud.

Though, he would call himself a lier, if he Said he didn't like it. It was a lot better then the narrowed eyes she had been giving him, and answering with the snarls.

It pained him to see her so...bound. It only resolved more in his mind to 'take care' of those that had done such a thing to her.

When he felt...one of Riot's ears flicked as he realized something. Wait...he -did- feel better.

Nikita closed her eyes as Riot's paw rested on her brow once again. It was like pulling the blanket over and asking for 5 more minutes. She drew in a deep breath than released it forcefully from her nostrils.

"..I thought I was doing a good job..." Nikita sighed.

The paw tucked under her frame flexed to be sure the ruby was still safely in place. Yes. It hadn't been lost.

Slowly she cracked open an eye to look back at the purring Riot. It was such a soothing noise. Yet, despite her attempt the other night to do so, her attempt now seemed more of an irritated growl. Which, Nikita promptly ceased trying and fell silent once more.

Her tail flicked again.

"You never told me where you were taking me..."

Though she brought it to light as if she were a prisoner, that too was out of habit. She was used to being told what to do and where to go. Now that she thought more on it, she really was more of a prisoner than a member of the cult.

" I didn't say you wheren't" Riot told her his pur pausing as he spoke, his maw cracked in move of a grin.

"I however don't want you to feel obligated to say something." The Tahtill soothed in a softer smile.

His tail rose and flicked, in thought.

"Well, -I am- going to see Bob..." Riot told her, recalling he asked as if she would come with him, in his fogged stated.

"It is still your choice, if you would like to come with me." The B'alam told her, not moving and letting keep his paw.

"If you wanted to stay here, however-it seems I would have no choice but to so as well." The Magus told her, gently gripping her head with his rough paw once more. She had quite a good grasp on it.

"I am okay, with that." Riot told her, his words drifting off in a purr as his tail swept in the air once more.

Nikita's eyes opened further to Riot's correction. Right, she was just following him to wherever. Not a captive, yet not sure where she was going really. Did she want to continue? The sudden thought of seeing what Bob night to in hearing of where she was, or what she had done, caused her heart to sink a bit. He would not be proud of her in the least. Bob was always so stern and proud.

Reluctantly (Very Reluctantly), Nikita moved a paw to Riot's and begun to remove it from her forehead so she could sit up right.

"I will not stop you in your task." Nikita answered more seriously. "But I will not go with you."

Her jaw tightened as if to hold back from verbally revealing her mind's conflicts. It would be so good to see Bob again, but how could she bare to see him so disappointed. She was far from what he had taught them to be. She was so quick to lean away from his teachings.

No. She couldn't go see him. Not yet. Not until she could figure herself out.

Riot's maw sunk as Nikita's own resolution left her own maw, his tail flopped to the earth in a thick 'thud'. Ears lowered, for a half of second. As she pulled his paw away, and sat up as if a string pulled him along with her, the mountain rose as well.

Wait. Why-

"Why not?" Riot inched himself closer on his hunches, his head leaned closer to her own. Turning his head, his light pink nose poked at her.

Wide, focused eyes carefully watched Nikita.

He wouldn't return so soon then....

Riot would only see Sir, Robert when he was back in 'one peice'

Nikita was not sure if she could tell Riot why she could not return with him to see their mentor. Would he understand? No, he would likely just be dissapointed as well. How could she answer him? What could she-

Nikita blinked as Riot scooted closer and begun to poke his nose toward her own. Though she couldn't help but look at that signature pink nose of his and not melt a little. However, slightly melted or not, her heart hardened and she was very quick to lean away from him once again. For a moment her nose wrinkled and she looked away from him. She couldn't look into those eyes right now.

"I-" She started to confess, but stopped. The words would not break past her tongue. At least, the right ones. "-will not. I think it best I go alone from here... "

Not really. She was dreading being alone again. That was the -last- thing she could have had on a list, and still not really desire it. When she broke down on his arm the other day, she meant every word. Still, her mind caused her emotions to become confused and tiwsted to match what condition her heart seemed to be in...

She also did not wish to be at the mercy of Morning Star and Cain. They wanted to kill her now, no doubt. But she wouldn't let them. Not without taking at least one with her, or scarring them.

"So you can report back to Bob. He must be worried about you."

The thought of Morning star and Cain made her fur bristle. She would kill them... maybe that should be her new task. She could just kill them and have their pelts.

Riot remained, unmoved as Nikita shifted and bared her nose at him. It was a empty guesture, and he didn't even flinch to it-either he knew it was-or didn't even care if she did something to him. As Nikita turned from him, Riot took in a slow deep breath, his own frame straightened and became more stubbornly pronounced.

"That's, all well and good..." Riot told her, letting her have her space. His paw raised to the side of his face. Singling out a diget, he unshifted his pointer claw and scatched the side of his maw.

"But, it's not happening." He added, letting his paw shifted to maw. Licking it, soaking it, he then brushed it over the tuff of pink On his head.

She was actually telling, him what to do?...really?

"I'm not leaving you." Riot told her, letting his paw settle in the grass. Telling her, what -he- was going to do.

The fog removed from his mind, the stubborn streak he had was as obvious as the pink ridge that sprouted down and along his back. He knew from his travels and rumors, that the group she was in, doesn't simply let B'alam 'leave' as they pleased.

Nikita's ear pointed toward Riot as she heard him shift his stance. Yet, she did not turn her head. She had not thought that her sudden pause in words would make it seem more like a command than an offer. At this point, she didn't care. Or didn't care to realize. Where Riot had a clear mind, her's was muddles with a thick fog that prevented clarity on the situation.

"So it is free will only when it complies with your demands?" Nikita inquired bitterly. The anger was displaced. The more she thought of Morning Star and Cain, the more her fur continued to bristle and her emotions within her mind to be carried out toward her tone and response.

Her tail flicked. The both of them should be the ones to die. Just as they had instructed her to do. Perhaps removing them could be a form of redemtion from everythig... maybe that's all that needed to happen to re-gain a clear mind again. To be happy. To forget about everything else she had endured over this long time away.

"What happened to 'only if you want?"

But what did she truely want? Nikita was unsure and only able to process everything slowly and what was not completely twisted about in the fog. Really, it was a lot to go through.
