Oh gosh! It felt like it had been FOREVER since she had been to Beach-A-Palooza. The sky was a deep shade of blue without a cloud to to cover the bright sun in sight. All in all, a beautiful day! She made it to the theme park a little bit earlier than planned, so Allix just aimless wandered around, her thumbs tapping away at the lit up screen of her phone.

Pressing the 'send' button, Allix slipped her phone back into her purse as she made a quick little beeline towards the dart game stand. Unlike the last time where she won that tiny cat plushie, she for sure was gonna get the big prize all by herself! Coming up towards the wooden stand, Allix slapped down a few dollar bills and was given a few colorful darts in exchange. " Alright, Allix. You gotta get the top prize today! You can do it! " The woman thought encouragingly to herself while she tried to focus. While a few of the players beside her seemed to just toss the dart all willy-nilly, she actually tried to pinpoint her target before throwing the dart forward. Alas, the first dart didn't even touch a damn balloon! Whatever, she had 2 more. Again, Allix lined up her dart the best she could, tossed it aanndd.... nope... nothing! " Oh, what the heck! " Her cheeks puffed up slightly in frustration and she simply just tossed the last dart aimlessly. To her surprise, she actually struck a balloon! It got her a tiny little rinky-dink prize, but it wasn't a big deal. She'd just play another round! Slamming some more money down on the counter, the raven-haired girl decided to give it another go.

Finn looked around as he leaned against the railing of the ferry, shuttling him across the ocean to the island neighboring his home. The sea breeze ruffled through his hair, as his golden eyes watched the waves roll by. Everything slowed down. Everything was smooth. Normally things moved too quick for him given his ability. It had to if he was going to have any hopes of good reaction time. Granted, he hadn't been keeping himself in the best of shape and thus his abilities have suffered, but his eyes saw time in quicker motion than the average person. He didn't move at super human speeds, he didn't talk faster, he didn't necessarily do anything different from anyone else; his brain just processed things at a faster rate than normal. While people were watching single waves roll by, Finn had seen three, sometimes even four, already fade into the sea. It was his divorce that made him want to slow down. Now that he was single again and all that ugly was behind him, he wanted to live his life. Just like Bree was doing. The night club lifestyle had offered him that opportunity. The seedy underbelly of the island gave him access to plenty of connections to slow his world down. Golden eyes shifted to a couple that came up beside him, cuddling close as the sea breeze was chilly despite the hot day. As he lamented on his divorce for a moment, his thoughts changed when he heard his text notification tone go off. Everyone in his phone had a different tone, some he would never heard again; the golden boy fiddled with the pendant now hanging around his neck. He never did get the chance to give it back and now wore it religiously like Ty had done before him. He didn't know why he did, if anything, it should be the last thing he wanted to wear since he had even thrown away the key that had once belonged to his Pasadena house, but here he was. He kept his wedding ring, locked up and out of plain sight, but he kept it, so maybe it was a memento in that regard. Reading the text from Allix, he slid his phone back into his pocket and pushed away from the railing. They were about to dock and he was crashing.
Slipping into the bathroom of the ferry, Finn looked himself in the mirror. There was a bit of facial hair lining his jaw, eyes slightly discolored from the long nights at the club and hardly any sleep between. His already floppy hair, was partially clean shaven and styled to one side. He looked a bit more mature with the new style he was trying out, but not by much because everything was still growing out. Running a hand through his hair, Finn locked himself into a stall, only coming out once he felt the ferry hit the dock. Adjusting his over shirt, Finn casually strolled out of the bathroom and filed off the boat just like everyone else. He had someone to meet after all, and there was no way she would let him get away with being late; unless they were drinking. Taking his phone out one more time, he reread the text: where he won her the plushie. The golden haired man tucked the phone away and took a moment to think. Where was that again?
Tapping his chin, Finn decided that he would head towards the games and see if he could spot her. It hadn't been terribly long since that day, but a lot had happened between then and now. Passing by plenty of people, the carnival being crowded because of the nice weather, his eyes roved over the head of them trying to seek out that luscious mane of raven. When he was finally able to spot it, Finn smiled to himself and was quick to close the gap. He was coming up behind right as she ferociously slammed money down on the counter and he chuckled softly before coming up beside her and kissing her cheek. "Don't mess up now~..." he teased without an ounce of shame.
Determination laced with frustration shrouded Allix's mind as she tried her best to stay focused without losing her temper too much. She didn't want Finn to see her get angry over a trivial little carnival game... at least not yet. She had no clue why, but she always felt a bit ashamed whenever someone saw her angry. Well, anyone besides her family that is. Felix saw Allix pissed off to the max before, and boy was it an ugly sight. Their parents also saw her worst, especially when they got her back after that traumatic incident. They mentioned her having temper tantrums as a small child before, but they made sure to note that once they got her back, it was almost 100 times worse! Having an angry child with the abilities of a powerful feline predator definitely wasn't something that her mother and father were used to handling. Hell, her father still had a few light scars from when he had to pry Allix and Felix away from each other during squabbles and fights. Just thinking back to it made her feel guilty to her very core.
Before she was able to throw the first dart of her second game, her ears picked up a familiar voice while a warm kiss pressed against her cheek. A smile crept up on her face as she gave Finn a little snicker in return. " Heh, the first round was practice! I've got my head in the game now, and I'm gonna win that big ol' prize~ " The confident girl replied as she threw her first dart. Annnnnnd.... IT STRUCK! Good thing, too. If she were to miss that first shot with such a cocky statement, Finn probably wouldn't let her live it down for the rest of night. Now, hopefully she could make the other darts connect with their target. One after the other, Allix threw the rest of the darts. Some missing and others hitting a nearby colorful balloon with ease. In the end, she didn't rack up enough points to win the HUGE panda plushie, but the medium sized lucky-cat one would do just fine. Hell, it was a lot better than her little rinky dink prize was that she won in the first round. Looking down at it, she finally realized it was one of those quirky Chinese finger traps. As a kid, they were fun as heck, but as an adult? Not so much. As the clerk handed her the plushie, Allix caught it with one hand, while the other slipped a finger into one end of the trap while she slipped Finn's index finger in the other end.
" I might not have gotten the big boy prize, but I came out with two really good ones in the end. " Allix said as she wiggled her end of the finger trap and then leaned over to return the kiss on his fuzz covered cheek. Obsidian eyes scanned over the golden male's features with an approving smile. " I'm really digging the new look, Finn Finn. Heh, we even have the dark circles to match now, too~ " He must've been working hard at the night club. He seemed like a workaholic, but that was something that Allix could closely relate to. Besides working her a** off, she was also just not good at sleeping in general. Sleep was such a luxury that her reoccurring night terrors just wouldn't allow. Welp, thank the makeup lords for concealer! " I'm glad you could make it out. It feels like ages since we've hung out. "

Finn couldn't help the smile that spread across his face as she vehemently told him she would win. There was nothing wrong with determination and confidence; many would find such traits attractive. He was sure he did. Bree was like that, and getting to know Allix more and more told him she was like that as well. Perhaps his laid back nature helped balance such personalities out? For whatever reason, he seemed attracted to a certain type of woman. Golden eyes flicked to the game when he heard the dart strike its target. He cheered for her action and continued to do so until she was finished. It was blissful to see the world move as a normal person; he could really enjoy the moment. Even though she didn't win the top prize, he praised her all the same. Discouraging someone wasn't in his repitore. Well, unless he was discouraging bad behavior. That was something he was okay with then.
"Hm?" Finn lift his hand, Allix's inadvertently coming with as he inspected the Chinese finger trap. A softer smile replaced his earlier one and dropped his hand back down. He didn't mind being stuck to the designer, intact, he welcomed it. Perhaps it was her spunk, or how she helped him through his divorce, but he was easily falling for her. He wanted to be at her disposal, always near her. Of course, their lives didn't always allow it with them both running businesses, but he would cherish every moment he could. Finn chuckled as he used his other hand to rub at his forming beard, "Hmm, you do? I wasn't sure the stubble was the way to go, but when you have long nights and no time to shave, you gotta live with it." There was a small pause as he dropped his hand, sliding it into a pocket and looking down at the feline beauty. "You're absolutely right! I do feel like I haven't seen you in ages Allix, I hope you've been doing well. Nothing too crazy going on in your life." Finn never really noticed just how much of a loner he actually was until this job. He had always seen himself as the center of attention, a social butterfly of sorts, but now...Now he was content to hang out with himself. He still enjoyed being around certain people, but if there was a choice, he'd rather be at home, alone. Or with the woman currently trapped with his finger.

After his goodbye to Patrick at the Farmer's Market and had bought some extra supplies to take with, Saeki had hurried home. The last bit he had even ran just to make sure he had plenty of time to prepare. The young man had placed the perishables in the fridge and cleaned up the rest of the shopping before he went for a shower and got redressed. Since it was a date he wanted to look good for Patrick, but he also had to keep in mind that it would be cold later on. Deciding it was best to ensure he wouldn't risk getting sick he ended up dressing in a proper black pants with a short yukata on top. It would be nice enough in most moderate weather. After that he brushed his hair and for a moment he hesitated before he decided to keep it loose this time.
He always slept with his hair down too and since they would camp out it was probably best. The young man left the band on his table and checked the mirror nearby. He looked presentable enough he thought and after putting on a mild cologne that wouldn't be to intrusive he got up to pack the bags. This was a date after all. He would make the full effort. But he felt like doing it for Patrick especially. With a quick smile Saeki moved the preparations to the kitchen, packed the sausages, marshmallows and plums for the roasting, picked up his sleeping bag and once he was sure he had everything he left his house, locked it and made his way to the ferry. The young man was eager to get to their appointed place. Their last date he had been really nervous, now he was just excited and pacing the ferry a bit until they landed at the Island.
The moment the ferry opened again, Saeki walked onto the land of the island and walked closer to the Beach-A-Palooza. even though he was most excited about their date for spending the night, the young man had to admit the Palooza looked amazing as well. It reminded him a little of those big festivals at home. A bittersweet smile formed on his lips for a moment as he remembered those days, but it didn't lest long. After all he had an amazing evening ahead of him. It didn't take long for the smile to be more cheerful as he neared the spot they had agreed to meet at on the beach and he looked around if he could spot Patrick already.

Patrick took his shortcut to the docks to arrive on time and not have to take the ferry. Strapped on his shoulders was a large camping backpack from his college days and a zipped up lunch bag in one hand. Hiro was back at home comfortable and content for his first night home alone in a long time. "Going to find a spot on the beach to set up camp once I meet up with Saeki" he thought to himself and rubbed his beard a bit. Looks around for Saeki because the guy is usually here before him at the meeting spots. Walked a bit to the end of the docks eyeing the area of where the best spots to pick up firewood. He doesn't know if his friend has ever had s'mores, but he wanted to surprise him with having the ingredients to make them by the campfire. Hopefully his friend will like them especially with the chance of roasting the marshmallows the way he would like them. Didn't bring a bag of marshmallows himself since he didn't have one at home, but he was hopeful his date would since it was one of those things people like to snack on at campfires. Homemade honey grahams for the bread of the s'mores and ham & potato salad sandwiches. When it came to beverages he had to be careful since his date isn't of age so he went with a bottle of alcohol free sparkling wine and a bottle of Hot Apple Cider Tea Bags accompanied with a tea kettle and two mugs. "Saeki!! Ready to start the date" he called out the other's name as soon as he spotted him then said the rest when he approached and smiled widely.

As he expected, Saeki was to early. He had been so set on being on time and his usual punctuality that he arrived early enough to see a few ferries go up and down, bringing people to the Palooza and bringing them back home. Not that he minded waiting for Patrick, it just added to his excitement. It also gave him some time to get used to the environment of the night. He had placed his bigger than usual bag on the ground nearby. The forecast was promising with only a few clouds in the sky so star clarity should be great too. The young man always did enjoy stargazing, but now he would be stargazing with Patrick it felt somehow even better. The young man was sitting next to his bag looking through it as he once more made sure he had everything, when Patrick called from a distance.
The young man looked up from his bag at the familiar voice and got up with a wide smile. "Haaaay!" he called back like he used to back at home to friends as well, closed his bag and got up so he faced Patrick once they reached him and nodded at their question. "All set and ready and eager to enjoy the time together." he replied cheerfully. It was true, he looked forward to this trip a lot. It was amazingly coincidence that they got matched up again, though Saeki was secretly considering it fate as well. He did feel well at ease around the other and he could no longer deny how he felt about them with them as close as they were. Still he was greatly inexperienced in this episode in life with just a few, innocent, relations and he wasn't so sure Patrick was happy to deal with that, if they even felt the same.
Where he came from relationships were not something that happened very early. In fact if you were unlucky you would still be betrothed, especially if you were a girl. Thankfully his parents weren't that traditional. It didn't take Saeki long to turn his mind back to the other though, he hardly thought of much else lately. "I'm not sure if camping here is the same as in Japan and even from there I know most from other sources. So I'll have to trust on your expertise about this." he admitted rubbing his head a bit as he looked at the large pack on Patrick's back. "Isn't that incredibly heavy?" he asked curiously as he looked back up a bit to Patrick who was slightly taller than him. But then he regained his smile. "I'm ready for our date and our night at the beach." he confirmed and waited for the other to let him know what had to be done first.

Patrick held back a chuckle when he initially heard Saeki's response. "Never heard such a greeting word before" he thought smiling. "Great" he replied. "I've camped about a handful of times so I guess I qualify to be in charge" he said accepting to be the lead on today's camping trip. He is the new manager at his new job so he was used to being in charge by now and plus he wasn't dealing a with a group of people. Raised eyebrows to the question, "No. No worries of such a thing. My physique isn't just for show" he reassures him. "Also look nicely dressed for it too, Saeki" he complimented him. Personally he dressed for the camping rather than for the date itself. "We'll start off with finding a spot. A good one would be sort of the middle. Not too close to the trees and not too close to the shore" he said as he started leading the way. Glances back to him, "Of course I would like your assistance in putting up the tent and collecting firewood" he said to him. Took a couple of moments to pick a spot away from most people out of habit in wanting plenty of privacy and space from others. Gently set down his bag then opens up the bag the tent is in to unpack it. "I didn't ask beforehand, but I hope you don't mind us sharing a tent" he said to him. "I'm not a snorer, I promise" he promised and he didn't mind if Saeki turn out to be one.

Saeki smiled when Patrick mentioned he camped before. He was glad that they weren't subject to his own feeble knowledge of the activity. At least they could rely on Patrick's expertise. Still he was relieved to hear the bag wasn't to heavy for them, as big as it was. They were really really strong. Of course Saeki wasn't weak either thanks to all the martial arts training he did, but he didn't think he'd be able to carry a bag that big and filled. He blushed lightly when Patrick complimented his outfit. "Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I tried to keep it a bit in between. Good for a date, good for a night outside." he admitted and hoped he wasn't mistaken about being prepared. The weather forecast mentioned a warm night but still, you never knew.
But then their camping trip began in earnest. "Just let me know what you need me to do and I will do it." Saeki said cheerfully and followed Patrick to see where they would choose to put up camp though he also kept in mind what he had just said about placing and looked for places that might work out. Once Patrick picked a spot it was clear it wasn't as close as he imagined. Good thing the other had the lead right now or they might have been washed away. It was a nice spot too. At this place you didn't hear the Palooza as clearly and what you did easily fell away to the background but you still heard the waves very well and it was soothing. When Patrick took out the tent, Saeki got confirmed what he already had thought. The thought of sharing a tent caused his heart to skip a beat but he didn't feel against the idea.
Regardless a chuckle escaped him when Patrick promised he didn't snore. "I don't mind. I don't snore either." Saeki ensured the other. No one told him he snored either, not even his family so he could be certain of that. In fact he was known as quite the silent sleeper. Seeing Patrick was going to set up the tent, Saeki put his bag on the ground as well and walked to them to help them out. He had no clue how the tent was built but he could follow instructions perfectly and he was eager to pull his weight for this camping trip. Once the tent was set up Saeki turned to Patrick again. "You also managed firewood, do we just get those from the beach here or do we need to search in the forest?" he asked curiously. Not that he minded if they did. The forest had seemed safe enough.

"You're welcome. You haven't worn anything I disliked" Patrick said to him. The wind and shade today helped him stay cool enough in the outfits he wore today. "Helping with pitching the tent so far. I will show how it's down and we'll share the hammer since there is only one" he responded. "I'm lucky he is able-bodied and capable in following my lead and instructions. Not like I lack leadership skills though" he thought to himself. He demonstrated how to link the parts together for the tent and hammer in the nails into the solid ground that he cleared off thanks to his earth abilities. After hearing the younger male doesn't snore either he was even more interested in seeing his sleeping face. Was a matter of who falls asleep first or wakes up first the next day. Once the tent was fully up and secured, he measured the distance from it for the fire pit by several feet for safety reasons. They had access to the water station so they could put out the fire when they are done with it later on tonight. "Just the outskirts of the forest will be fine. Get the biggest ones you can carry and make sure their dry which they probably are since it hasn't rained in days" he answered. "While you're away I will be setting up the fire pit and watching over our belongings" he tells him and gathered up nearby stones and rocks.

Saeki smiled a bit, he felt good hearing that Patrick didn't dislike anything he worn so far. Of course he always did wear what he liked to wear and only made an extra effort when he was meeting with Patrick. Soon though they started with setting up and Saeki focused on the other's instructions more than anything else. With Patrick's help it didn't take him long to get the hang of how it worked and soon enough they were exchanging the hammer and securing all the pins so it stood safely for the night. The young man caught himself looking forward to this night. But they still had things to do before they could relax for the evening. Saeki got up and looked at Patrick as they spoke what to do next and he nodded with a smile. "Alright, I will be right back then." he said and went to the forest near the beach.
The young man was humming to himself a little as he looked around and gathered the bigger pieces of wood that he came passed. He had no comparison if it was big enough, but the young man just made sure to bring the big chunks that he generally needed two hands for. At some places he had passed particular large branches which he broke in two, aided by his training, before he picked the whole batch up again. It was kind of surprising how bountiful it was. Once he gathered his arms full and really couldn't put more on the pile, he returned with his arms full of wood to their campsite. It was getting pretty heavy too. Once he made it back to the tents he placed the wood down for now between the tents and Patrick, though closer to Patrick.
Saeki had a few scrapes from the sharper pieces of wood, but it was nothing that he wasn't used to from the beginning of his training years so he ignored it and instead walked to Patrick's side to see how far they had come. He was also kind of curious to see how they would set it up. After all Patrick had all the experience. "I've brought wood and placed it nearby, if we need more I can always go look for more." he said and stopped next to Patrick, smiling at him calmly. Already this promised to be an interesting night.

"Please be careful, Saeki" said Patrick when the younger male went off to get the firewood for the campfire. He collected enough rocks to make two circles of them. One was the outer circle that was as big as his fists and the other was the inner circle with half the physical size. With earth manipulation he deepens the ground around the inner circle by three feet. Tried not to steal any glances to the outskirts because it would have broken his focus of what he was doing with the fire ring foundation. He believed the other can handle the task after knowing for almost a month now and has seen a lot of what he is capable of accomplishing on his own. Hearing footsteps coming near him, he didn't look right away and remained kneeling. Looks to the wood pile before looking up to Saeki. "It's a fair amount since its just the two of us. You did very well" he responded. "You didn't get any splinters, did you?" he asked because it's possible to get if the person isn't wearing gloves. Stacks the small wood to a cone formation around the inner circle to start off with for the campfire. "Once I get the fire started it will take about half an hour to be ready for the cooking. What do you want to do in the meantime?" he asked him. He got out the camp grill and set it up to be on one side of the fire ring so the other side is accessible for the stoking.

"I promise." he had called when Patrick asked him to be careful. Not that he expected anything bad to happen. It hadn't taken very long before he returned however and was standing with Patrick again. In this forest it seemed like it was offering it's fallen wood to travelers. Of course Saeki didn't completely rule out a benevolent Kami. Saeki smiled happily when Patrick said he had done well. It meant he had brought enough and for his first foraging he felt pretty good about it. "No splinters that I know of. It was pretty easy to find good wood here." he replied to the question though he wasn't concerned about splinters himself. The young man watched how Patrick stacked it over the fire pit. It looked deeper than earlier. Perhaps they had used their magic to create it. He would have loved to see that too but this wouldn't be the last time they would hang out, so there wasn't any rush.
"Hmm" he said softly as he looked around them a bit to get a feel for their surroundings. The Palooza would be to far away and even this being his first time with an actual campfire, even Saeki could tell they wouldn't be able to go look through the outskirts more of the forest. The fire needed to stay tended. That left the ocean for one, but Patrick didn't swim. "Well what do you usually do when waiting for the fire to be hot enough?" he then asked the other and smiled. "I do know the fire needs to stay tended, so we can't go to far away or we could have explored some of our surroundings while waiting. Of course we can also just sit and hang out a bit until it is ready for cooking." he replied and chuckled a bit. Maybe they could just sit and talk. That would be fun too Saeki was sure.

"That's good because splinters are annoying to remove" Patrick exclaimed and felt relieved the other didn't come back with splinters. "Hm, usually working on my crafts since people usually left me alone. Although the first time I was talking so I could get to know my old friends better" he said looking down at the fire ring. "Well, not at the same time. Like when one of us needs to use the portable pottie" he said with a chuckle. "Guess we could start off with the date question since we didn't last time" he said as he got the kindling ready. Taking a match out from a matchbox, he set the kindling on fire to start the campfire. "What's your favorite joke you ever heard?" he asked and moved over to him. "Personally I wouldn't know since there hadn't been a joke that was still passed the moment that it was told. As for comedy in the media, it's only funny to me the first time around" he said answering the ice breaking question. He decided to move on to a different topic thinking the joke topic might not go on for long. "When it comes to friendship intimacy, do you allow handshakes and fist bumps or high fives?" he asked next. He was trying to find out what is allowed in their etiquette of friendship without embarrassing himself.
