Dorcheira’s ears twitched. Again. There. Something was on the other side of the snowdrift. Something large, and clumsy.
Something that shouldn’t be there. On her territory.
She bristled. Dorcheira knew she wasn’t the biggest B’alam in her tribe—most males and some females were larger—surprising the thing would probably be her best bet. Dorcheira charged over the snowdrift and roared. The thing barely moved.
It was a B’alam. A B’alam with stupidly short fur and… horns? And he was shaking terribly. Dorcheira cocked her head. “Who are y—”
Her eyes met his for a moment, before rolling back as he fell to his side.
