speaking of sinking ships.......
We now have a sneak peek at the new Gaia Interactive website. I will not link you to it out of respect for any member here who may be underage because it is wholly inappropriate. But its name is similar to an octopus leg ninja
I, for one, am disgusted with this and sincerely glad that I haven't financially supported them since the Cashocalypse started. This is what Gaia Online users money went to. Sure not all of it, but the fact remains that we don't get as much attention here as we used to, and now a new site is up. At least they did something else they promised *flips table* emotion_donotwant
gaia_spoons I recall someone saying a while back that gold cap increases probably won't contribute to inflation..... And now we are sitting at a 2 - 3 tril marketplace revenue
I gave up on announcements so I haven't really been following, but I know they pushed out another 2bil max gold gen this week, along with another 1bil max gen, so I wonder what the MP will be like next week....
gaia_spoons How are the items coming out of Drink Me vs. the gold from Eat Me? I hear a few say the item generator contains mediocrely desirable items. Others are looking at this Item-Gold Gen combo as a test to see which one sells the most, or is chosen over the other. Really does give a lab rat feel to it all stare

There are so many things that you can do as a member to get your voice out even if you are not a thread maker.
-Dress your avi and submit a statement to the Avatar Arenas. Heck! Write something or draw something! People will see it.
-Use that Aquarium Message in a Bottle to tell other Gaians about something important
-Tips and up-votes can really help those who are trying to make a valid point.
-Make your statement in your signature for everyone to see, why not? everyone else is doing it, take a look see.
-Sign those petitions! They are waiting for enough members to just say "hey, I sign'
Even the little things that we do as Gaians, to support each other, will bring more voices to the forefront of the Gaia staff.

So about this sinking s**t I mean ship.
I found Gaia's adult site, & there are so many, many things wrong with it!
Upon entering the site through a google search, there's no disclaimer that says, "Hey, you must be over 18 to enter". There's pornography & nudity right on the front page, & I didn't have to agree to be over 18 or even login to view it.
When I made an account, yes, they asked me to input my age, but there still wasn't a disclaimer stating an age limit to view the site.
For those who will understand this terminology, this seems like it will become the vanilla version of Fet. (No, I will not explain that statement, Fet is not the full website name on purpose, if you get it, you get it.)
There's even a section of the site where you can earn gold by guessing aspects of another users personality, & if you guess correctly, on top of gold, you are rewarded with pictures of that user, which don't have to be clothed. This SCREAMS privacy violations & potential stalkers, if you ask me.
So, Fet has this thing where, if you support the site by sending them $15 a year, you can view videos that other users upload. If you don't, you can still view pictures & blogs & writings, etc, all to your heart's content. I can see this Gaia-owned site going in the same direction.
This is far, far from good.

Pornography... especially of the nature I just caught a glimpse of (it was a violent rape scene, possibly involving a teenager)... that's my line in the sand. |

eek I didn't see that. This is not a thing that vanillas should be exposed to without
1, verification they are over 18
2, a trigger warning
3, a choice to click on something to view it, not just BAM right there on the front page.
Holy s**t, I am so sorry that you had to view that. On behalf of the community that makes such videos, both paid & unpaid, & as a member of both communities, I am so sorry that you've been exposed to that. |

TS Sailor Cronus Cranberry-Conundrum So I visited that site maybe an hour ago. I don't even know what to say. Way too emotional right now. -_- Exactly. Infuriating. I've been shaking, I've been crying, I've been gritting and grinding my teeth. 13-year-olds on this site spent money which was pushed into that site. Illegal business practice? Nope. Not because of the technicality that you are given what you ask for. Immoral and just wrong in every other way? So much. No limits. So that's it. I'm done.
