Name: Ebon ColdWell

Age: 21

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 250 lbs.

Hair color: Black

Eye color: Icy-silver blue

Skin tone: Pale white

Seen (and unseen) Markings: Always seems to have darkness around his eyes.

Bio: Ebon was born into a pack of Lycanthrobes, however most were turned, only two were pure. Three now counting himself, his parents tried to keep them being pure a secret, Some of the neighboring town's folk had heard about some strange howlings, and sent a small hunting party around the time of a full moon. It did not end well, as the hunters all died except the one who ran before even meeting up with the pack. However, he made up some rant about demon worshipers and got the local lords to raise an armor to weed them out. It was a bloody battle, and most of the pack died except Ebon, and his mother. Despite his fathers love for her, he made it seem like he had made her a prisoner, so she was spared, along with her child.

His mother, Morinth was taken in by a local lord not knowing what she was, nor what her son was. But his own wife had passed recently, and he did not have a son of his own, though he would try for a few years to make one with his mother, it was not going to happen, well not easily. But when she finally did get pregnant, Ebon was already around 18 and his 'father' was using him to lead his small army against a neighboring lord in an land dispute. Of course, People had been hearing rumors about the lad with a rather large b*****d sword, but swinging it like he was not holding a blade at all. Quick, and deadly, many already were falling into line when he came around, and the dispute was quickly over. However, this got the noble into thinking about expanding more... But his ambition was growing to much, and the King of the land stepped in, his army seized the keep in which his mother was in while he was campaigning up north. Of course this made him resent the king, as he found his mother dead, to set an example about over stepping ones bounds. After that, the noble had to send the boy off, and off he went, up to the north where he was waging war before, but this time as a mercenary... the taste of war was to grand, and insatiable, but deep down he still harbored hatred for this 'King' whom killed his mother.

She walked into a tavern and sat by herself. It was not abnormal for men to stare at her. Of course she knew most of the reason why. They would stare at her since she wore baggy pants and a baggier shirt. Her hair was put into a braid which hung over her right shoulder. Most men knew not to approach her, though most who did got turned down after a few minutes of talking.

When a lady came over and asked her what she wanted. She told her,"Just the normal would be nice.", she replied. Now she looked at the hearth and watched the fire. When the lady came back with her food and drink. She continued to pay no mind to no one else. Unless if they sat beside or across from her.

Ebon ColdWell was sitting far from the fire, in the darkest corner of this tavern. He had just been paid from a bounty he collected on. His large b*****d sword, rested beside him, both for easy use, and to intimidate people to leave him be. Of course he did not mind the tavern's help, a large jug of mead, and a roasted chicken rested in front of him and he simply watched the tavern wench strut her stuff in an attempt to calm the fiery tempered man, and to get better tips. Most people in his profession had scars and were more like animals then men. He of course really was an animal, and less of a man, but he acted almost like a noble would. Though probably a bit more, cold, and disheartened. He shooed the young girl off, and started to enjoy his meal. The bard played her lute and started to sing about the king... that however was getting on Ebon's nerves.

Today, she picked at her food more then eating it. And looked around the place. Not many people in her and she ignored the bard. A couple of young kids came up to her, both were no older then eight or six. "Miss Ava' a bully is picking on my older brother.", the little girl said. She wore her hair in braids, as her younger if not twin brother looked at his feet. Sighing she stood up,"Okay, let me handle it.", she said, then patted the kids on their head. "If you want you can eat my food, just save some for your brother.", she added on. Her normally cold face, was gentle, like a Mother's. She then gone outside and seen a couple of young lads pushing another lad around.

"Hey!", she snapped at the boys. All of them looked at her. Though the boy whom was getting pushed around had a few bad bruises. "If you're gonna pick on someone, pick on someone whose closer to your age.", she said. Though she knew the boys were nearing sixteen, as the little girl's brother was about twelve. The three boys whom picked on the one looked a bit, scared when they looked at Avalon after daring them. "If I catch you pushing him around again, I'll make sure you're hands are so raw. That when you piss you'll cry!", she looked up at all three of the young men.

Some would say her 'bark' was worse then her bite. Nope, she gone through with nine out of ten things she swore she would do. The three young men and a crowd had looked at her, but not to shocked. She helped the little kid's brother up and led him into the tavern. Some people looked at her like she was nuts. But she knew if she had any siblings, she would of been protective of them. And since she had no children of her own to watch, she watched out for the kids who did need help. "Eat child.", she told the young boy in a gentle tone, after she sat him in her place. Her drink was water since she did not drink liquor, unless if it was the stronger stuff on nights she could not sleep.

The young boy she brought in, ate a little bit. She said nothing else to them. But allowed the little girl onto her lap. Sorrow and grief was in her eyes. Then the little girl's younger brother climbed onto Avalon's other knee. They children explained that the older boys seemed to hate their family. Maybe because they were bastards. But Avalon shook her head,"Because someone is a b*****d is not a reason to hate them. The beauty of a person is on the inside, what they look like never matters. Remember that you three. Stone, River, or Snow, you all are meant to do things that'll help others. And those others can help you reach heights of an eagle if you have faith.", she told them. Her voice was gentle. It was hard to tell in her clothes, but she had a body of a Mother.

" Faith... that is a joke." Ebon muttered, mainly to himself. Then again, he was raised with the concept of a strong sword arm, was all you needed in life. Though that concept was flawed, since he was naturally strong. That is how he handed such a large blade with ease, though it was modeled for two hands, he could easily use it with one. He finished his mead and set the jug upside down, a sign to send another. The chicken by now was mostly gone, but he was not to much of a pig, insatiable, but he knew no normal human could just sit there an eat all night. And he had to act human, else he would not find work.

Someone grabbed the tavern wench by her waist, and pulled her to his knee, and made her drop the jug of mead meant for Ebon. though they would just as easily send him another, That plus the bard's 'chanting' about the King was setting his nerves up, and heating his temper. a drink would be how he was not splitting the bard in two... and now he had to wait for his rage elixir.

She seen the man whom grabbed the tavern wench. "Damn it, Phil!", she snapped at the man. "Leave her alone, if you want skirts to chase you know wear they're at!", she said. Of course after covering the two youngest kids ears. Despite their other ears being against her chest. Yes, she did mean whores too. The man named Phil, whom was not good looking to start with looked at Avalon and grinned. "Well put one on and I can chase you.", he replied. "How brave of a mouse challenging a cat.", she gave him a dangerous smile. Being a widow made her more dangerous.

Looking at the bard lady,"Please play us something different! Fair Maiden and the Bear! I don't care!", she growled. The kids seemed to keep more of her anger at bay though. The little girl now sat on the table and played with Avalon's hair, when she allowed it. The young boy still sat on her lap and talked to his sister more then Avalon. Though this family-less woman seemed to have power over some locals. Maybe it was her eyes, the way she set her jaw, or the clothes.

Ebon slowly stood, and wondered to Phil's side. " Phil, was it." He muttered lowly not even bothering to take his sword. He reached into his ouch and drew a small scroll, and looked at it. " interesting." Ebon grinned wolfishly.

" and what is it to you? can't you see i am busy here ya over grown farm hand? " Phil spewed out as he continued to grope at the tavern wench, who at this point was trying to get away, Ebon was not well known, but she heard rumors about a man in blackened armor, that carried a huge sword... a bounty hunter and a sword for hire.

" you're head is worth fourteen gold alive, but thirty for just the head." He said loud enough for the 'cat' whom was sheltering the children. As if a foreboding warning that something was about to happen.

Before Ebon finished talking, Phil pushed the wench into Ebon, and pulled out his boot knife, attempting to stick Ebon like someone would stick a pig, however, Ebon simply grabbed the girl with one hand and moved her aside, while grasping the man's hand with the blade. " not a smart idea..." he said coldly... " i guess i am getting thirty pieces for you." he stated as he clenched his fist, a crunching was heard in the tavern, as Phil's fingers cracked under the pressure of Ebon's grasp, And that weakened his grip to the point Ebon pulled Phil's knife into his throat. From there on he smirked, watching the man gasp for air, however where he had pierced made the man start to drown in his own blood. Quick, efficient, and seemingly not caring... to the untrained eye at least. " time to take him to the keep down the road i guess" he muttered as grasped the man's shirt, and picked up the now soon to be corpse, and dragged him closer to the door. His eyes lurked to the bard, and he glared for a moment. " i will be back later for more mead." he said simply... Grabbing his sword with his free hand, he wondered out the tavern into the night.

She heard that Phil was worth more dead then alive. Well having the children, even the oldest look away. She was watching this herself. It was not the first time she seen a man killed. After the man left she sighed. Some people have her a dirty look, but she gave a meaner look back. Soon enough she walked the kids back to their Mother's stand. Heading back to the tavern knowing the man was to come back. She waited, and waited. Only to sing a couple of songs when the bard took a break.

Her voice was a gentle alto. She knew how to make it raise and fall. The songs she sung, were older ones her Gram'mama had taught her. They seemed second nature, as she leaned against the wall well sitting on a bench. Though she took up most of her side of the table, or tried to, despite how small she was to some men.

If someone used a cart, it would take roughly four or five hours to the closest Keep, So waiting that night may not have been a took smart of a thing to do, however, Ebon was rather proficient at his life choice, and of course, when no one was around was faster than a good horse. and, unlike horses, he could take to the woods, and navigate them. So it was about six hours later when Ebon slowly wondered back into the tavern, he placed his blade back in the corner, in the dark corner, and sat down. He didn't make much of a scene when he came back in, but the tavern wench noticed him, and already was bringing him a large jug of mead.

On his way back into town, a few of the towns folk watched him, he had just killed one of their neighbors, of course before he got to that town, the man was part of a bandit group, and a known rapist. So, He had done them a favor.

She had asked for a room, though she barely slept. Most of the night she had her eyes closed and rested. Finally sometime later, she got up and put her clothes back on. Her hair was in a braid this time. So one could not tell how much sleep she fought off. Though shadows under her eyes did. Death did not really bother her, but it was what happened during life that did.

Going down stairs, she looked around. And noticed the man was back. Squaring her shoulders, not in a fighting way. But to make herself more appealing though the thought it self never crossed her mind. "What was Phil wanted for?", she finally asked the man, with the b*****d sword, but her voice was gentle. She knew compared to him, she was petite. Though this time, it was still hard to tell she had curves. Her eyes were curious but not stupid. She normally had a bad feeling when being to close to Phil.

" Rape, murder, thievery, and banditry. " He stated simply setting the now useless scroll on the table. " see for your self." Ebon said, then started to drink the mead he had just gotten. Though he drank absorbent amounts, it didn't affect him, and there was a similar darkness under Ebon's eyes... though he never did sleep. He tired, on a few occasions, but it never did come. Setting the jug down he looked to the woman talking to him. " would you like something else?" He stated. " or do you want someone else taken care of?" he asked. perhaps she was looking to hire his blade. That happened a few times in the past, where someone saw him dispatch someone from a warrant and then asked him to take someone else out.

She nodded hearing it and then looked at the scroll. Okay, so she could barely read. Her line of work, rarely made her do so. "I maybe the only one to say this. But thanks, I had a bad feeling about him from when I met him two years ago.", she said. So, she was not a local of this village until two years ago. Her former farm was one more village over. "Is it okay if I sit with you?", she asked him. Something about him lured her to him.
