Narumi, status changed to "Gaia Staff"

Apparently Narumi, our in charge of Gaia sales, was demoted to community member a while after the Pick a Card release. His name was changed to black and seemingly no longer has any forum privileges. What do we suppose this could mean? Is it meaningful?

I'm still working for Gaia. Since I am no longer programming for the company, I decided to remove my developer status.

I've been pretty diligent about posting what I do on my Profile, Facebook and Linkedin. If people want to see all they need to do is go look.

Why now? Mostly so I don't keep getting requests for dev help when I'm not a dev and haven't been for nearly a year. I didn't want to introduce a whole new title and color to the Gaia ecosystem so instead I just removed mine entirely.

So why not just use the staff title? Same reason as above, to avoid being sent help requests for things that are handled by other departments.

I expect other staffers with the dev title who aren't actually programming, or whose roles don't involve them being active in the community may also follow suit.

At the very least this might get some attention to the fact that there are some wonky things going on at HQ. Maybe there will be more people paranoid about this enough to stop buying GC

This news is a little unsettling. I honestly don't think Narumi gave us a complete answer; it's possible he only gave a partial answer-- the part he's allowed to tell.

If you are given a severance package and signed confidentiality contracts, you are still working for Gaia, even if your not. wink
