Sure, there were daily conversations and little moments, but, they never beat a good old visit and sit down after a little time had departed. Thus, Lifen had decided that they were sorely due for a quick little tete-a-tete, she was always wondering how the noble was doing - so much had already happened to him, and, she constantly worried.
Ultimately, she found herself at his not-so-humble abode once again, the size and beauty of it making it very obvious that someone of a higher rank lived here. He probably wouldn't have it any other way. Chuckling softly, she went to knock on his door softly, hoping she had not caught him out, the one time she'd like to catch up.
"Mengyao, are you in?" She called out after a short moment, eyebrows raising lightly as she waited for an answer.

He was in, of course, and at the current moment a black calligraphy bird was floating around the little enclosement that Mengyao currently lived in. He'd painted it earlier that day, and now he'd just finished, letting it flit soundlessly above his head.
It paused, however, at the sound of a familiar voice, and then flew to settle on Mengyao's shoulder. He pushed himself to his feet and smoothed down his robes, crossing the little home to the door and pulling it open.
A small smile spread across his face, though of course he remained as calm as ever. "Lifen," he said, a note of warm affection in his voice. Mengyao stepped aside to allow the shorter horseman to pass, gesturing for her to step through. "How lovely to see you. Please do come in."
