I need to figure out how to delete my account. I am leaving gaia and can't figure out how besides simply not logging in. I don't want this here for gaia to say "See look how many members we have~"

I only ran into the question once before, and I've forgotten where it was. I don't know.

Ugh, I agree, this post makes me sad. orz But if you go to the help center it says that they'll never completely delete accounts. You can contact them to close the account for good, but it will always be there, even if it's inaccessible.

To be honest there is no point in me being here anymore. Seeing how my friends are horribly upset by this site and many have already stopped logging in. I don't like anime that much and don't have the money or the time to keep an account on a site that doesn't care about it's consumers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to run a social media site without hurting your consumers or upsetting them. Take for example Mark Zuckerburg.
I'm just wondering if there is a way to delete accounts? Or does gaia make this site a forever commitment once it's attached to an email and given a name?
Anyway, with friends dwindling on this site, RP's dying and such I feel like taking my leave too. I just want to delete this account so that it doesn't compromise my email, and so that no one can hack it to steal my info and stuff as well as maybe showing Gaia that Gaians really need a way out if the Admin say "If you don't like this site there are other social medias so go there". Why do they say that and make it difficult to leave? All the more reason this site is a scam.

But that must be hard since Admin aren't doing their job to ban people for breaking the TOS. They just ban people now for having an opinion against them who happen to post in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I was told that you cannot delete your Gaia account? I mean, you could always file a customer support ticket and request immediate deletion. I doubt they'd actually delete it, but you can try?
If you don't want to do that and you're absolutely positive that you don't want to get back on Gaia, you could always speak negatively about the CEO and get your account banned.
That's as close to deletion as I know. :<
Sorry.

Sorry. I would ask at the ATA how to delete my account this Monday but... they canceled it. I should have asked at the last one. emotion_facepalm

I believe banning would just make it so that you can't log into the account. It would still exist, but as with closing it nobody would be able to get onto it.

I don't think it was ever possible to completely delete your account. Even if you get banned, the account is still there (even your username remains, I believe), although the avatar seems to be deleted, and you can't log in. If you just don't log in anymore, that may be good enough, at least for their records. Plus, I don't think there are really any other ways to quit other than just logging out permanently (not that I've heard, anyway). I don't think the number of users would be very impressive if they counted users that have already left, so I would think they can only count active users.
If you ever found Gaia fun at any point, you may want to just log out for a few months and check back. If it's still bad, maybe log out again and check back in another few months. At the rate things are going, I'd say there's a good chance Gaia will either be shutting down or be going back to normal in the near-ish future. I don't see how the guys in charge would remain in power that long if the company is losing money.

I don't want this here for gaia to say "See look how many members we have~" I hate to hear this on so many counts, and it truly makes me sad that it's come to this for so many members of Gaia. Unfortunately, you cannot "delete" your account on Gaia. They've never allowed this option, so your options are limited at best. Maybe just walk away and if you ever decide to log back in for some reason, your account should still be there. I'm truly sorry to hear that it's come to this, but I completely respect where you're coming from in every way.
