[End] Getting back into the swing [Riley/Jericho]

While he had some practice, Jericho figured he could always use some more when it came to using his fear and defending himself in general. Some of it was muscle memory, in the least. But, it was still more ideal for him to actually put his body to use.

Fidgeting a bit at the gym, he was swinging some punches in the air as he waited.

When would Riley ever turn down a chance to spar? It was practically bred into her, that desire to rip and shred and punch and tear and kick and bite and...

But this was Jericho she would be up against. She didn't remember ever fighting him, and had no idea whether he had any skill in the subject, so she promised to try not to kill him. It would be uncomfortable to have to apologize for it later when he re-surfaced.

Hey. She pinged at him gently, when she entered the gym in her workout gear. Warming up without me, I see. I'll forgive you, you'll need the advantage.

Talking trash was always one of her favorite parts of a spar.

Hearing Riley's voice, Jericho turned around to see her coming on into the gym. As she taunted him, he let out a small laugh.

"Oh really? We'll just have to see about that. I hope you're ready, Riley, because things are going to burn soon."

For a moment, his wings flared out, possibly to try and make himself look bigger. Though, he soon drew them back in towards himself.

Riley moved closer, standing at close ranged fighting distance, and her body tensed, before bending slightly into position. Her arms were raised just enough to block any initial inflection; a typical fighting pose.

That's a strange thing to say to me. She murmured, her eyes crackling with mischief. You, of all people, know how much I enjoy when it burns.

"Oh, I know," Jericho grinned before he charged at her. He beat his wings down hard to help propel himself forward quickly. As he closed the gap, he drew back a scaled fist before launching out to try and deck his best friend in the face.

Jericho came down swinging, landing a solid hit right on her jaw. She swiveled to the side, skidding to stop herself from turning around, and her tentacle slithered out to slice across his cheek in a strange sort of slap. Ow. She growled out playfully, turning her head back and rubbing her jaw. You hurt.

Her body went back into defensive position. Dare you to do it again.

And then Jericho got slapped by a tentacle. Rubbing his cheek a bit, he grinned and shook his head, "Come on. You can take more than that!"

As he shouted this, he lunged out once more, aiming another punch, though with his other fist.

He was right. She could take much more than that. And when she took his next hit, her head turned back to him once more, looking absolutely delighted. And hungry. And most of all, completely feral.

The mindflayer screeched wildly before she leapt at him, her claws and tentacles all aimed to wrap around every part of his body and slam him down, hard, to the floor.

Jericho was practically stunned when Riley suddenly unleashed herself upon him. He hit the floor hard as she took him down, and it knocked the wind out of him for the moment.

With a sort of grimace, he tried to suck in air back to his lungs while sending a punch at Riley to try and get her off.

Even with the punch, she remained pinning him down, refusing to get up off of him. She chuckled darkly, leaning in to stare him down.

Ah ah ah, Jericho. You can fuss all you want, but if you want to continue this fight, you're going to have to figure out a way to get me off of you. Otherwise..

The barrage of attacks to his gut and side was like a gatling gun, pounding away from her tentacles with the rhythm of a drum beat. It mimiced her heartbeat, which quickened with each continued second fighting her best friend. Adrenaline flowed free and hot in her veins. Fighting with Jericho made her feel alive again.

No, more than that.

She just couldn't place what.

Grunting, Jericho huddled in as she continued her onslaught. It was a bit more of a defensive position. Or at least as much as he could given the current state of things. In any case, he tried to shove her off. His attempt may have ended up a bit futile, however.

He just barely pushed her off of him, and she remained lying on her back, laughing up into the air. But it was unfair of her to find it all so funny. She wasn't really laughing at Jericho, or at the fight. In fact, when she thought about it, she couldn't tell what she was laughing at.. or why she felt so giddy.

Let's go. She barked out, pushing herself back up to her knees and immediately trying to wrestle him back down to the ground. Stop holding back, Jericho! Kick my a**!

Jericho scrambled back to his feet. Letting out a snort, he stared down at Riley then decided to take a sort of gamble. He was going to try and call upon his Fear. It wasn't something he has had much practice with, so he didn't know if this was going to work out.

In any case, he raised one clawed hand up to form a flaming die over head. He poured quite a bit of energy into this before sending it barreling down towards the mindflayer.

Riley slowly stood back up, and watched him pour his fear into his attack. It was impressive, and eye catching, and.. maybe just a little flashy. Not to mention unstable.. it looked like it was hurting him more than it would hurt her.

And then she was proved wrong.

As the fear attack slammed into her, it sent her flying up into the air, knocking her many feet away until she finally slammed back down into the ground, bounced twice, and skidded to a stop. Her body didn't move. She didn't even look like she was breathing.
