So I just got called by my mom. She said that there's a boy who wants to meet me. She showed him my picture and talked to him about me apparently. She wants me to go meet him but I'm scared. I've never had luck with boys and I feel that he might just want to make fun of me or something. I have no idea what to do...

This is totally funny. As long as she doesn't hurt herself or you b/c of it.

I mean, how old are you? It should be fine... just make sure you're in a public place and don't go if he asks to bring you somewhere private. It's only first meeting, so there should be none of that. Like tanqela said, you could bring a friend. Tell your mom to make it a double. If all else fails, tell your mom to call it off. You have the right to that decision.

I'm 17 -.- and yea it'll be public I think , My mom will be there... my mom just wants me to meet ppl but I just o-o dont trust guys.

Oh gosh, just like me. I'm 17 and still pretty asexual at this point. The men in my life haven't exactly been perfect poster children. Then I see a couple paths here: meet this guy just to meet him (have your standards predetermined but be approachable) and see what happens, or live your life and start mingling when you feel like you actually want a relationship. I would probably decline, because I'm not a fan of the blind date scenario, but your inkling could be different from mine 3nodding

First, be flattered that your mom cares enough about you to want you to be happy. Not every parent will put themselves out like that. I know it looks like meddling, but I'm sure she means well. wink

Second, meet him in public. Bring your phone. Make sure the meeting is closed-ended (like, one walk around the lake or something) to avoid getting sucked into a whole day of uncomfortableness. You can always extend the date if things are going really well.

Finally, try to have an open mind. I would hate you to miss what might be a good opportunity because you are too anxious about it.

It is okay to be anxious, by the way. But you can acknowledge your anxiety and go for it anyway. He may be nervous too. smile
