Dark Royalty

Starting myself another Dark Eldar project, theming the force around "Royalty".

I don't have much planned around the army, other than it will include Duke Sliscus, Baron Sathonyx and Prince Yriel.

I'm still currently in the stage of deciding my colors for the Sky Serpents and Yriel's force (probably going for something like a Corsair/Iyanden force, or just plain Iyanden).

Here are my first 10 Kabalite Warriors.


And since I'm building my Kabalites out of Dark Elf Corsairs, why not build my Eldar out of High Elves?






I'm still in the stage of deciding wether this one shall be used as a Guardian or not.

What happened?

It had a frosting effect on n the minis.

Considering it isn't old, I haven't stored it wrongly, nor sprayed too close/far from the minis... It worked perfectly yesterday on an Incubi where I tested my color scheme. We're talking about spray turning bad in a day... :/

Also I don't think I've ever had any good experience with their spray... It usually yet too thick. And compared to GW spray their spray bonds with plastic, that's why I'm so scared I've lost the minis... If that's the case I'm afraid I'll leave this project in the gutter... @_@

The surface is slightly "scrubby", seemingly a side-effect since Armypainter spray "bonds" with plastic. It's better than they were with the spray on at least, so by Monday I'll be able to start painting!

As my allies will be Iyanden, I reckon I'll use Blue (going for Hawk Turqoise) with yellow details, reversing the Iyanden colors.

I really should sit down and write some lists of what I want to use in this army...

All I know for now is that I want the army to have a nice feel to it, and work on the tabletop, but giving the choice of characters I feel that it'll be a combat heavy one... Not really the Eldar/Dark Eldar way to be honest... :'D

Happy to hear it isn't a complete loss!

Are you going to play your Iyanden as vanilla codex, or are you going with the supplemental list?

I'll be using the supplement... Even though it won't change a single thing for the allied force. razz

As I will use Yriel, I don't get access to any other HQ's, and being a special character he don't get to use the Gifts of Asuryan or any warlord traits. I also won't be able to use the Spiritseer council nor the Wraith-Warlord... So why even use the supplement? So I can say it's Iyanden~<3

I think I have found a color scheme for my Eldar Allies.
Yriel's Eldritch Raiders. A test mini should be finished within a near future.

Anyhow, just finished the test mini, I'm pleased with the result. Now starts the process of painting the whole unit before I can buy another one!
