Name: Brenley Davis Quinn Nicknames: Bren, B-Ren by some (or one) Gender: Male Age: 19 (january 17, 1998) Height: 6'3"
Faction: Reaper Race: Sorcerer
Natural Abilities:
alumnus Did someone say enchanting? Bren's really good at it. Like, really really.
year three So much enchanting.
year two More enchanting.
year one Enchanting: Sorcerers are awful at casting spells. Instead, they excel at being able to put spells into objects. These objects can cast the spell for them: ie, a Sorcerer can enchant a fireball spell into a stick. Providing that the stick doesn't catch on fire, the Sorcerer now has a wand that can shoot fireballs... Until the spell runs out, that is.
book smart curious reserved sheltered seduced by peer pressure determined socially awkward
Hobbies: collecting stones and trinkets finding out how stuff works conducting questionable experiments
Likes: experimenting science puzzles
Dislikes: surprises large animals feeling stupid
FEAR Abilities:
Pebble Plague (Tier 3 Swift Strikes) Brenley has a thing for collecting and enchanting small, smooth stones, shells, and other desert detritus, and these treasures can often be found in his pockets. He usually carries just enough of them to be collectively considered a handful, and when he throws these randomly spelled bits at an opponent during a fight, they sting like a b***h.
Dice: 11d4 First Die: xxxxx 1: Miss xxxxx 2: HIT however the resulting damage is divided by 2. Only 50% of the damage is dealt. xxxxx 3-4: HIT however the resulting damage is multiplied by .8. Only 80% of the damage is dealt. Damage: Ignore the first die, total up the remaining dice. Divide or multiply the total by the modifier depending. Average Damage: 13 (50%), 20 (80%)
Shrapnel (Tier 2 Swift Strikes) Inch long shards of glass and sharp bits of rock have been enchanted to fly swiftly toward anyone who isn't Brenley like anxious puggles greeting their master following a vacation. They aren't terribly predictable, but when they strike, they can be quite painful.
Dice: 9d4 First Die: xxxxx 1: Miss xxxxx 2 - 3: HIT however the resulting damage is divided by 2. Only 50% of the damage is dealt. xxxxx 4: HIT however the resulting damage is multiplied by .8. Only 80% of the damage is dealt. Damage: Ignore the first die, total up the remaining dice. Divide or multiply the total by the modifier depending. Average Damage: 10 (50%), 16 (80%)
Rock Bomb (Tier 2 Battle Cry) With the assistance of a larger stone or other throwable inanimate object, Brenley can make a bomb with the potential to do more damage to an enemy than a simple strike.
Dice: 7d4 First Die: xxxxx 1: Miss xxxxx 2-4: Full Damage Damage: Add up remaining dice. This total is the damage dealt to your opponent. Average Damage: 15
Lethal Injection (Tier 1 The Mind) Hallucinations, muscle relaxation, bees, who knows what the sparkling blue powder Brenley doses you with will do. (hint: it's up to you)
Dice: 3d4 First Die: represents your Accuracy. xxxxx 1-2: Miss xxxxx 3-4: Success! Second Die: represents your Modifier. xxxxx 1 means your opponent adds +1 to their modifier. If their modifier was -6, it is now -5! This means your opponent has an easier time of hitting their targets. xxxxx 2-4 means your opponent adds -1 to their modifier. If their modifier was -6, it is now -7! Third Die: represents how many turns the effect lasts. xxxxx 1-2: affects your opponent's next turn. xxxxx 3-4: affects your opponent's next two turns.
Brenley is now proficient enough with enchanting that he can do quite a few things on the fly, including the spells needed to quickly perform his FEAR attacks. If he doesn't happen to have pebbles or rocks on hand, he can use objects in his environment to achieve the same effect.
Family
Davis Marshall Quinn A rather imposing but affable gryphon who has been estranged from his parents and siblings for the better part of twenty years for reasons he won't discuss. Currently he works in construction, heading his own company while continuing to go on jobs that take him far from home. He loves his family fiercely and dearly, but he loves his freedom too, and can sometimes seem a little detached.
Hair: sandy blond; short Eyes: blue Skin Tone: pale Height: 6'6" Build: muscular
Mira Launa [née Bahar] Quinn A much more careful and mistrustful creature than her husband, Mira long believed that the best way to keep her family safe and loyal was to keep its members close. She has only recently begun to lighten up on that front, but it is woefully slow going, particularly where her son is concerned. Mira is a sorcerer like Brenley, and she taught him everything he knows about the Patrona, the small sect of reapers to which she, and now he, belong. She is an only child, though her mother is dead and her father a bit of a wanderer whom she doesn't see often.
Hair: black; very, very long Eyes: bright orange Skin Tone: very dark brown Height: 5'5" Build: average
Tanaela Mira Quinn Brenley's baby sister. She does baby things.
Hair: brown; baby length Eyes: blue Skin Tone: medium brown Height: baby Build: baby
Homeland (declared 12/2014)
Brenley hails from a city called Nel located on the border of the Sanen Desert. I have a nagging feeling that I named the city he was from prior to this and used it in exactly one RP, but I can't find that mention now so Nel it is. If I ever manage to find that RP, I'll change the name there to make things consistent. Yay.

pets
Screech Brenley invited Screech to live in his dorm after the dromaiusaurus spent a weekend stuck in the tree outside his window, screeching at all hours of the day and night. Screech is much quieter now that he is being regularly fed, but the origin of his name is still apparent when he is startled or displeased.
Hornsby If Bren had to guess, he would say that Hornsby was left behind when the previous occupant of his room graduated. It's a fairly educated assumption considering the creature was left with a collar and minipet bed. The koobo is a pleasant enough companion, but he and Brenley aren't really friends. Hornsby comes and goes as he pleases, occasionally bringing interesting trinkets back for the boil who loves interesting trinkets, and so he has been allowed to stay.
Despair (a.k.a. Des) Upon returning from his ordeal at Parker Freeman's hands... or paws... Brenley found this pygmy wish peacefully sleeping on his bed. He's tried several times since that day to rid himself of it, but it keeps coming back, a fuzzy, adorable reminder of the fact that he's a murderer.
(i have permission from ende to use her SE ICly! yay!)

mounts
Orbit Rarity: Common Size: 4-6 feet Weight capacity: 1 person max. Speed: Medium Weight: Moderate (120-150 lbs) Special ability: Are extremely sturdy and can carry up to 3x their weight. Are good at traveling through rugged and mountainous terrain. Flying: Cannot fly. Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals. Temper: Slightly aggressive. More aggressive mounts of this type like to butt heads with each other.
Lemesk Rarity: Uncommon Size: 10 - 18 feet Weight capacity: 1 person max. Speed: Fast (flying). Weight: Medium/Heavy (150 - 250 lbs) Special ability: Bladed Wyverns utter a shrill noise to signal to others that it is around. It has extremely talented aerobatic abilities that give it the nickname, the pest of the sky, as its talons are fashioned to be able to drop from the sky and attack other flying creatures. Flying: Yes Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals. Temper: Tiresome. This high energy creature is hard to wear out and will often fly circles and screech loudly. Will often be accidentally summoned instead of the mount you are trying to summon.
Rarity: Rare Size: 10 feet Weight capacity: 1 person max Speed: Fast Weight: Medium (150 -250 lbs) Special ability: This mount is virtually indestructible. It will not be dissipated even in the hardiest of situations, though it might run away if it gets mistreated/takes too much damage! Being made entirely from vines, it can dissolve when taking too much damage and reform into vine form again. The flowers that bloom from its body can also be used for love potions (whether this is true or not has to be yet tested) Flying: Yes Teleportation: Teleports from Miasma Village to Halloween Town only through portals. Temper: Makes a lot of noise that gives away it's area. Whinnies a lot. Likes to run around. Rambunctious.

Quote:
The Walrus’ Oyster Shell A shell shaped clasp containing some self-replenishing silver powder.
Status Effect When the powder is sprinkled on any food it makes it taste wonderful regardless of how horrible it may well be. Doesn’t negate poison, inedibility etc.
dreamifacts
learned abilities
Quote:
Beginner Disguise: Difficulty level: Beginner Pre-requisites: N/A Battle Effect: N/A Non-battle Effect: Your character can temporarily alter their appearance to look like anyone they have traded student pins with (as long as they are wearing the pin). This only lasts 5 minutes for Y1, 10 for Y2, and 30 for Y3. This is an illusion and is broken if they are attacked. They still sound like themselves though okay, it isn't that advanced. The illusion appearance is only of their student form and not their natural form. Requirements: Successfully complete Disguise for Dummies (aka the TL;DR class)
Quote:
Beginner Speed Boost Difficulty level: Beginner Pre-requisites: N/A Battle Effect: Once per battle, a player may choose to roll a 4-sided dice. Their accuracy is raised +1 for the next rolled amount of turns. For example, if I state this used effect and roll a 4, for the next 4 turns, my damage calculated is now -5 instead of -6. You forfeit your normal battle attack turn if you want to use this attack. Non-battle Effect: A character can obtain a small speed boost/ speed surge to seemingly "teleport" a foot, but it can only be used once without them getting super tired. Requirements: Win a single round of the open class of the course Thunder Road.
Quote:
Beginner Desperate Chance Difficulty level: Beginner Pre-requisites: N/A Battle Effect: Once per battle, you may choose to roll 2 12-sided dice and subtract six from the result. However, due to the sudden change in your outfit from invoking this ability, you skip your next 3 turns (the outfit remains all throughout the battle) Non-battle Effect: A character acquires the ability to randomly sparkle. Ooh-ahh... Requirements: Finish/defeat the final boss in "Make a legal document and..."
Quote:
Beginner Evasion Difficulty level: Beginner Pre-requisites: N/A Battle Effect: Once per battle, a player may choose to roll a 20-sided dice. If they roll a 1 or 20, they avoid all damage done to them next turn, UNLESS IT IS A GM BOSS. You forfeit your normal battle attack turn if you want to use this attack. Non-battle Effect: A character can sense easier an oncoming attack/hit and avoid it. Requirements: ???? (i think this is the learned ability for ninja-san's class but i don't know wheeee)
Quote:
Beginner Battle Aura Difficulty level: Beginner Pre-requisites: N/A Battle Effect: This is an ADD on effect! You cannot use it with your Fear. Once per battle, by using this effect (please state so), instead of rolling your usual 2d6/8/10, you will roll THREE dice. - The first two dice behave as normal, simply add up the damage and subtract 6. - THE LAST DICE, if even, is the additional damage you do DIVIDED BY TWO. If your last dice is odd, you do all of the damage of the THREE DICE ROLLS (the third roll amount divided by two) to yourself Non-battle Effect: A character acquires the ability to create a menacing aura, perhaps enough to lightly startle others. Requirements: Finish/defeat the final boss in BEEN FIGHTING BEARS ON THE MOUNTAIN.
