Both involve the rendering of names in English releases.
The first is replacing the person's personal name with an American name.
The second involves the person's personal name being the Mandarin or Cantonese word for "mountain" or "wolf" or "war horse" and WHAT DOES HIS NAME END UP AS? Liu Mountain/Wolf/Warhorse. IT SOUNDS RIDICULOUS.

i know what you mean. the subtitle- people( not sure what one calls that kind of job ) do weird things to the names...
like... in this comedy, duke of mount deer, there is this guy named wei xiaobao, somehow the name got changed to Wilson bow or something like that.
It was weird.
