It had been a while since Jerry had done a solo mission... in fact, he wasn't sure if he had EVER been to Halloween on his own. Roar wasn't entirely sure it was a good idea, but the Hunter was insistent. He needed to get off the island, get away, and he wasn't sure leave-time would clear his head properly. Trying to be normal when the problems screaming their peace in his battered mind just didn't mesh.
Allan was right. He needed to embrace his kokoro, there was a lion in his heart and it was ready to erupt outward in a howl of glory-
Roar. Lions roar.
Jerry ignored the weapon as he stepped through the portal...
It would do him well to bring back a Halloween-creature personally, right? Score him some points with the labs. Maybe they'd throw him a bone. Or it could impress Teressa over in Pod Processing... No sooner had he stepped off of Deus and into the dreaded haunted house he felt his stomach clench. The hallway was dim, the lights flickering with the wind outside and for a moment he caught sight of a window leading out into the yard beyond... that field. Those cliffs. The thick knots of scarred flesh across his face ached in wary memory. Had it really only been a year ago? It had been easy to ignore those thoughts when he had been here with Candace and her group's mission. That had gone well, hasn't it? Maybe he'd get lucky.
Maybe doing this was a bad idea. He glanced back to the window again, but it was gone, replaced by a sudden wooden doorway. Deep breaths. He was a bigger man than he had been back then. He wasn't a trainee anymore. His hand went to the knob and as he stepped inside the large room on the other side, dread gripped his stomach. Immediately he summoned Roar, the canon's burst of existence casting green light across the place enough for him to frantically lunge for a light switch.
Deep breaths. He was beyond that.
The lamp showed antique furniture and an ornate rug... all faintly familiar to the man.
Rolling a 5: ALL PLAYERS AT ANY POINT CAN FORFEIT THEIR ATTACK TO ROLL 2d12. If you roll odd, you do this damage to your opponent. If you roll even, you do this damage to YOURSELF - no modifier, you can ONLY DO THIS ONCE. You feel an uneasy unsettling feeling, as if something is coming, but you can't place what or when.
