Hi there, I'm kind of new here, but I figured hey~ Why not jump right in? XD
Anyway, in honor of Disgaea 2 later this summer, I decided to make a YOUR FAVORITE RPGs thread. Zelda games won't be mentioned because I don't consider them RPGs, though I do luff them so^^
...the second Zelda, Adventure of Link was pretty RPG-like though. Hmmm... *ponders*
Whatever. Doesn't matter. Well, here's my top five...er, seven!
1.Disgaea (PS2)
2.Earthbound (SNES)
3.Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (GBA) -or- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC) I can't decide which sweatdrop
4.Lufia II (SNES)
5. Skies of Arcadia (DC, GC) -or- Breath of Fire III (PSX) Another tie xd

Oh, and feel free to chat about what games you like, what games you don't, and why for both cases!
I love Disgaea, for instance, not only because it has uber-slick character designs, but because the gameplay is really deep. Every weapon, item, character, character class, spell and whatever else can gain experience and increase in power. That is so awesome. XDD
I have sunk hundreds of hours into it, and I still can't beat some of the hardest levels and bosses yet! ARGH! Level 2500 dragons?!
Earthbound was my favorite for many, many moons. I bought it when it first came out, and it has been number 1 ever since. The story is just...so much fun! A very fresh, very fun game. 1st one I ever played that was set in the modern day, so it instantly gains points for that XD
It's a long game, and I know a lot of people didn't "get" it, but I really don't think there's anything to get! It's a good game, with funny characters and situations. Go RUNAWAY 5!
I was heart-broken when a drug-addicted friend stole all my SNES games and sold them, and I didn't stop until I finally bought this again, years and years later.
I'm a new convert to the Fire Emblem series. I passed over the first (6th) Fire Emblem they brought to America, and I only recently was able to find it used! A very fun series! I'm glad they woke up and finally started bringing them over! Definitely not a game you could import and understand what's going on sweatdrop Copious amounts of text!
The "dead and never return" aspect makes it really unique, though it is such a pain to restart a battle because someone, somewhere got their butt handed to them! rolleyes
Lufia II. This game is just...amazing. The ending was a real heartbreaker, the first game to ever make me cry! Of course, I was pretty young at the time, but I think it's still the only game to do that to me. Its superb translation was a real shocker considering the time it was released, and it really gave this game a nice extra coat of polish. Funny characters, and some puzzles that could actually make you think!
Skies of Arcadia was the first game I bought on the Dream Cast that actually made the purchase of the system worthwhile for me! I think you can count the number of RPGs on there with one hand, so that's quite the feat^^;; Anyway, a very traditional RPG, but Air Pirates are the coolest thing ever so...yeah. I liked it so much I bought it for the Game Cube, and I'm glad I did! The added stuff was fun too^^
Breath of Fire III gets its spot because I liked the first 2 games but thought their translation was just...bad. Plus, I like dragons, and creating your own through genes was just genius! I loved that. Even though two more have been released since, I think Breath of Fire III is the best of the series. Momo is just...awesome whee

Here is my favorite:
Chaos Legion (PS2)
-From the makers of Devil May Cry-
Hard game to beat, still fun though!
It's graphics are top of the line, the music is pretty cool and the action never stops, there is no part where you aren't hacking and slashing at someone. And don't think it's one of those just plain action games, the story is pretty good, it ties in, makes alot of sence and there is even a love story tied in with it. It's also kind of a mystery, where you don't know who done it until the very end.
Anyways, that's my fav RPG.

RPG games are my favorite type to play. <3 They can be time consuming so I haven't played any in a ...good while. x.x
My favorite RPG is Star Ocean 2.
Though I had played other RPGs before that game, I consider it the first RPG that I got into. With multiple endings and different party members depending on the actions you take, I've played it over and over and over... ^^
I loved it so much that I was dissappointed with Star Ocean 3 and haven't even finished that game...

Usually I hate battling when the control of the other characters is taken away from you, but I don't recall having too many problems with the system. I have 3, but I haven't gotten a chance to play it^^;; I picked it up because it was 15 bucks new, and you really can't go wrong with a price like that^^ Ashton FOREVER! whee His obsession with barrels was both creepy and funny^^;

my fave RPG huh... hard ta say... i like almost all the RPG's i play... but i do have one to recomend... it's liek the old ones and is text-based... it's called Achaea

i'm not an RPG type gamer (own i think 5 rpgs) i'm more of a fighter type or adventure.
Harvest Moon back to nature is something i love though
FFX FFX2 Harvest Moon Kingdom Hearts forgot the name lol its a DC game
i'm startin to see why people think Sony is evil...hmmm
i'd like to play Animal Crossing someday
