Twenty years have passed since the epic battle of Blackest Night. Twenty years of heroics, adventure, and change. Heroes have hung their capes and boots up for good, though some still fight on. Others continue the fight, managing their normal life alongside the one under the cape. Many have found themselves with a new title; 'Parents'.

New crusaders, many young teens, rise from their parents' shadows. As they begin to seek out to create their own adventures, new villains and old take up arms. Battles begin to ensue, legends shall be made, and the next generation of DC comics shall be made!

Themyscira

Home to the race of warrior women known as the Amazons, Themyscira is a tropical island located in the Pacific Ocean. Hidden from the mortal world's gaze by only a magic veil, Themyscira is technologically advanced as well as a relic of the past. Here the men best watch their step, should they wash ashore. Still ruled by the queen Hippolyta, it has become the safe harbor for many women of the mortal world.

Kera Troy
Daughter of the Amazons

Noon day sun had come to Themyscira. The island basked in the heat, heady scent of the flowers blooming into the warm air and the tiniest of breezes blowing through the tropical forest. The city itself was busy as always; warriors training, others hard at work in the library, and the song of tongs against iron in the air as the smiths worked their trade.

But far from the city, on the white beaches of the Eastern coast a young girl sat staring at the dappled waters of the sea. Kera sighed, folding her legs beneath her, a serious expression burning in her blue eyes.

Off the coast, and very much further down than any could see, there rested an old-looking, blocky, and mildew-covered piece of machinery. Wedged into the sand and having a large amount of force exerted upon it, it looked as though it had rested there for ages. Which it had. In its hibernation, the machine had stored what little energy it could, all for the purpose of giving it's soul inhabitant a chance to complete it's mission.

That was the day. After all the decades waiting, the machine gave a noise. A hum, and a slight buzz in the water, along with a gentle glow from two of the white lights along the sides. A ring of light seemed to emanate from the hunk of metal, and the unheard noises surrounding it increased in pitch. Finally, the light reached it's zenith, and the bottom of the machine began to rise from the sand and muck beneath it.

The light it created was intense, and more than enough to be seen just slightly from the surface.

Kera sighed and rose from the sand. She had a combat lesson shortly, and she needed to be heading back. Brushing the sand from her shift, she turned to leave.

It was then the light surged. The water roiled for a moment and then a beam shot from the water. Kera turned, eyes wide, and watched the light grow. "What in the name of-" Without finishing the thought, the young woman slipped out of her sandals and dove into the waves.

The light grew the deeper she swam. What should have been dim water was lit as clearly as any fish tank. The only difference being there was no sea life in sight. Her brow furrowed, bubbles leaving her lips as she contemplated returning to land. But then, this could be dangerous. Better to check it out. She swam on, diving like a knife through the waves.

As the new presence encroached on the light of the machine, bubbles began to slip from each crevice, and parts seemed to shift of their own accord. The light began to pulse, and the humming grew even louder. Suddenly, the sides of the machine began to slide lower and lower; revealing a sort of half-cylinder, about seven feet tall, made of what appeared to a solid piece of metal.

The light surged before all returning to the machine, and another loud hum sounded off. Without warning, the half-cylinder groaned, and jettisoned from the base of the machine; at torpedo-like speeds it broke the surface of the ocean. Coming to a solid halt on shore, the machine laid on its back with the rounded side facing up. Sunlight glinted off the surface, and the light texture of interlocked hexagons could be seen over the entirety of the metal.

She was only a short distance from the cylinder when a wave of bubbles and jetstream of water knocked her off course. Her eyes flashed, shock coloring her features. The cylinder shot past her and Kera could only follow it's rocket course to the surface.

She frowned and then took off, her arms spinning at super speed as she raced after the object. With a loud 'pop' she cork screwed from the water into the air and swiftly transferred her movements to flight at the same moment her quarry crashed onto the beach. Dripping wet and slightly annoyed, Kera alighted on the sandy turf a few feet from the mystery object. There was a certain hesitance to her movements as she stepped closer with curiosity in her eyes.

Sunlight glinting off the surface, the pod began to shimmer; the hexagons seemed to shift, simultaneously, in a manner which made it appear they didn't move at all. The sounds of more parts shifting inside the machine could be heard, and the sides of the pod started to give off a bizarre hissing noise.

Steadily, the sides of the device unlocked, and the covered front of the pod slid open; revealing a humanoid figure from beneath a casement of glass. Scanning the area, and picking up on a single living entity within nominal range, the pod finished its preparations, and the glass deteriorated from before the being which laid inside.

The eyes of the humanoid opened, and slowly it began to sit up. With completely smooth movements, it approached the woman, taking in it's surroundings as well, until it was directly before her. A series of strange, radio-like, tones escaped the humanoid; it could easily be construed as an attempt at introduction.

Kera was a bit alarmed by the shifting of the pod, and the sudden rising of the humanoid. Nevertheless she appeared completely calm, a defiant and warning glint in her eyes as the creature began to walk towards her. She wasn't going to have to fight it, right?

The 'thing' began to make noises, which Kera assumed were a form of communication. She arched a brow before speaking in an archaic form of Greek. "Do you speak Greek?" If that failed she could go to English, Latin, or several other languages. Hopefully one would work.

The creature kept it's completely black eyes on the Amazonian's own; not seeming to react to her words. In truth it could comprehend none of the words the woman was saying; the Syn had no form of audible communication. The only reason sounds came from the thing were because the Tolnaar had no reason to have the ability to vocalize over radio frequencies removed.

It finished scanning over the woman then, just as slowly as it had moved before, raised a three-fingered hand and reached for her arm. Contact of the physical sort would allow for genetic material to be sampled, and communication would become much simpler. If the woman allowed it too, that is.

. "Oh uh...you want to...touch me?" Kera assumed, hesitantly extending her own arm. Her mother would have killed her. But then, the young girl was rash, a trait she had received from the father she never knew.

And so she allowed the cool metal of the creature to touch her skin, eyes wary. Hopefully she wasn't going to be tased.

Whether or not the creature was continuing because of the woman's permission or not, it took a gentle grasp of her wrist and closed it's three-fingered hand around the skin. After a few moments of contact, something changed.

The outer layer of the creature's appearance began to ripple, like the surface of water, but the shape of the whole being changed as well. It became shorter, hair seemed to sprout from the back of it's bald head, and the face which was once blank began to take the shape into the exact visage of the woman before it.

In a matter of moments, the mysterious, faceless creature reflected perfectly the girl, whom it could now identify as a woman named "Kera Troy". It blinked, adjusting it's sight to it's new form. Using the same language, Greek, as Kera had spoken to it, it responded a bit slowly. "I... am... observ... ation... un... it... unit..." The words came awkwardly, as Unit was unfamiliar with the mouth and lips it now possessed.

Kera watched in stark amazement as the creature before her began to shimmer and change. It took only moments, before the young Amazon was staring at...

"Great Hera!" the teen gasped, pulling out of the creature's-Unit's-grasp and ignoring that she had jsut uttered a rather cheesy remark. The 'thing' was no longer a 'thing'. It was...her?

"What...how did you do that?!?" she demanded, remaining in Greek. Her fists were clenched now, eyes gleaming with a hard determination.

Unit flexed it's new arms slowly, articulating every fiber of it's new appearance. It took a few moments and a quick study of the language in it's head before the mimic could word it's answer. "My pur... pose..."

In a sort of interruption of it's own words, Unit reached a hand out once more, this time gently setting it to Kera's temple. A sort of transference took place; Unit's Tolnaar mind allowing it to learn the various syntax of the language it was struggling to use. Finally, the mimic lowered it's hand and met Kera's eyes.

"I am a Tolnaar. My purpose is to learn and observe. I can adjust the structure of my body to reflect a subject of study." The words were stated simply, and in little more than a monotone, but the voice was unmistakably a copy of Kera's own.
