Does anybody know of any resources on Alchemy? I have this friend who is a complete novice, and is attempting things that are way too advanced for him without getting a full understand of what he is doing. He's already screwed up several times and suffered some ill effects... I disagree with the practice of alchemy and hermetics in general, but especially so by those who have not been in the game for over a decade and have not studied under someone qualified and experienced. I need some resources to help him understand what some of the consequences of his actions could be. Please...

Yeah- spiritual or physical alchemy?

Furthermore- what ill effects? If you are working with elemental compounds (as in, things on the Periodic Table), the side effects are not a function of the Alchemy, but of the mishandling of the chemicals involved.

I assume you mean spiritual alchemy. In that case, what the hell do you mean by ill effects? Listen, I'd love to help, but your stance on all of this makes you seem incredibly biased. If I give you any information I expect you pick it apart and only show your friend the bad things about it and not just the good.

Scroll down to alchemy. Instant knowledge. I believe they are missing some books from their arsenal, however. The word that comes to mind is Magnum Oppus...don't know if it's significant, but I believe that it is a book.
