Leanne began to change into her normal clothes and headed to the local pokemon mart to do some shopping but found the herb shop near the Gym. The herbs had a reputation for lowering the friendship of Pokemon yet, they might be worth the investment.

But one thing that caught her eye, was two pairs of goggles, one in black, the other in red. One pair cost as much as one Revival Herb and the investment may lead to more pokemon. She bought them.

Zane began to grin and chuckle as his Marshtomp continued her relentless assault on the gym leader's Ninetails with her Mud Bomb attack and Water gun until eventfully claiming victory over the quadruped Pokémon covered in thick, luxurious golden-white fur that was drenched and covered in mud. ''Looks like the first round goes to me and my Marshtomp.'' Smiled Zane giving his Pokemon a celebratory high five. ''Getting my fifth badge should be a walk in place'' Zane thought to himself in his mind.

Leanne smiled coming out of the shop, her skin refreshed from the springs, her team switched around with her Swablu, Mashtomp, Torchic, and Skitty in tow. The odd stone was nestled into her belt with her new attire. She looked at herself. A ponytail adorned her head, a long yellow and white jacket without sleeves with a black crop top and a skirt that was tired off to the side and the goggles around her neck. Dark grey boots on her feet.

She nodded at her new look and headed out to have her team toughen up as a merchant came out smiling. "Hey there, boy... I have the rare stones for sale." He held out a black as night stone, showing it was a Moon Stone as well as stones with a strange pattern on them.

Zane smiled coming out of the gym with the heat badge in hand, his sense of accomplishment higher than it was previously and his newly evoled Swampert, his team remained the same with his Flygon, Swampert, Kirla in tow. ''That wax too easy. Flanney's Pokémon didn't even manage to put up even a fight against you.'' Zane said laughing triumphantly as he then set out to find where Leanne was. He wanted to show and brag to her how he managed to beat the gym leader with only his newly evoled Swampert and ask her if she had any idea about who the next gym leader was.

Leanne was in the pokemon center grooming her Swablu as the other pokemon enjoyed some food she made. A new look means a better chance. The next contest was in Petalburg City with a surprise guest judge. She contemplated on who to use and was leaning towards Skitty or Marshtomp.

"Maybe Zane will have some ideas and do some training before the contest, Hmm... looks like the quickest route is through Meteor Falls. But I want to check out the desert... Marshtomp, are you ready to handle that?" She asked as he looked up and smiled raising his fins
