Like the cavalry appearing before war
The storm arrives with little warning
The thunder sounding the beginning
Lightning showing the battlefield
Thunder crashes like waves on a beach
Like waves of soldiers continuing to come
Unending waves of thunder and rain
Those in the storm praying for providence
The heart of the storm rolls overheard
A place where some can weather the war
A safe haven a place of refuge for some
Yet on the outside people are calling for mercy
Lightning like prey calling to those in the darkness
Offering safety yet a dangerous whisper in the air
Vibrations fill the air as the rain floods down
Hoof beats pound as the rain continues to fall
The storm breaches the wall
Like a ship that breaks through the surf
The wall crumbles bodies break
The war is drawing to a close
The battlefield is darkened and washed
The thunder dies and drains away
The storm dwindles and moves on
The war is finished and the storm is gone
