The quiet path beckons
In the shade of towering trees
Aged and wise they stand
Witnesses to times long past
Their graceful branches waving
Welcoming the weary wanderer
My soul longs to walk
beneath their ancient canopy
Along the pebbled trail
Following the river
To feel the rush of water on my hand
The silken cool slip over my skin
To listen to the airy song
Of birds dancing above
The quiet path beckons
Inviting me to wander
In silence and serenity
To find the quiet path
Within me.
