NAME OF CLASS: BEEN FIGHTING BEARS ON THE MOUNTAIN.
PROFESSOR NAME Malcolm

General information: Malcolm had always been one of those professors who always seem to take things to the extremities; this training session was no exception. Held on a mountain that is located just 5 minutes' walk away from the school, there was also something about fighting bears...

~Image here, I guess~

The Course:
The Garowl Mountains, located just 5 minutes' walk away from the school. Yes, this mountain had always been there; don't question it.

Mechanics:

Phase 1
The climb up the mountain was a really tedious one; it was absolutely freezing, and the strong winds did not help your cause at all. Unless you actually liked the cold, walking to where the training session was supposed to be held was a test in itself...

Note: If your student is cold/frost/ice-based or is used to living is extreme cold, you may skip this phrase and move onto phrase 2! Just leo strut your way up!
Note 2: If your student is heat/fire-based or cold-blooded, you will use 1d8.
Note 3: Everyone else will use a 1d10!

1 : You were frozen on the spot, resembling a live ice sculpture, as you failed to beat the cold; that night, Malcolm would find you and carry you back to your room to thaw out. Shameeeee. Major fail!
2-5 : You almost got there, but unusually strong winds and what was probably an approaching snow storm nearer to the peak forced you to turn back. Fail!
6-10 : You made it! You're tired (and possibly grumpy) but you made it- Hey, where did your clothing go? If you are a boil, you lost either your shirt or your pants to the winds. If you are a ghoul, your clothing had been ripped up pretty badly by the winds. Pass! But at what cost?

Phrase 2
Despite your missing/ruined clothing, you had walked too far to back down. You are a man! A MAN. Or a woman... But you can't spell woman without a MAN. Nearing the ice cave, you could hear faint growling coming from inside as your challenger stepped forward... And give you the grumpiest look known to bear-kind. Hah, what a lousy, weak looking thing...

Note: Roll 2d6 to fight!
-> Subtract 6 if you are Y1, 4 if you are Y2 and 3 if you are Y3/beyond.
-> Example of damage: I am Y2 and I roll a 6. My damage is 6-4=2

< 0 : Bearel practically ravaged you, and you might had screamed loudly like a little ghoul in the process. Fail!
2 - 3 : You managed to land a weak hit, but Bearel managed to get the best of you before escaping back into the cave. Pass!
4 > : You managed to land a strong hit after summoning your inner man, sending Bearel flying back into the cave with tears streaming out of its eyes. I hope you're quite satisfied. Great pass!

Phrase 3
Before you could recover from your encounter with Bearel, you hear even a louder, but more feminine growl coming from within the cave. Soon enough, Bearel's mama stepped out of the cave and made a gesture at you with her tint fists of fury; come at her, bro. Funshine is ready for some fun-time...

Note: Roll 2d6 to fight!
-> Subtract 6 if you are Y1, 4 if you are Y2 and 3 if you are Y3/beyond.
-> Example of damage: I am Y2 and I roll a 6. My damage is 6-4=2

< 1 : Funshine beats the crap out of you, and you couldn't even land a single hit. Shame... So. Much. Shame. Fail!
2 - 4 : You managed to land a weak hit, but Funshine managed to pretty much put lots of tiny fist-shaped bruises on you before collapsing into the snow. Pass!
5 > : You managed to land a strong hit after summoning your inner man, sending Funshine stumbling and face-planting into the snow. You feel a small, pitiable sense of pride. Great pass!

Final phrase
Just as you thought that your training was over, a series of angry-sounding clicking noises came from the direction of the cave. A second later, an adorably white and furry teddy walked out, picked the fallen Funshine up in its arms, and carrying it back into the cave. It then reemerged from the- OH JACK WHAT IS THAT EVEN?!

Note: Roll 2d6 to fight!
-> Subtract 6 if you are Y1, 4 if you are Y2 and 3 if you are Y3/beyond.
-> Example of damage: I am Y2 and I roll a 6. My damage is 6-4=2

< 4 : TeddyWeddy probably beat you senseless and made you scream like a little ghoul while crying for mummy repeatedly. You also feel a sense of shame. Fail!
5-7 : You managed to land a weak hit, but TeddyWeddy had gotten several scratch marks across parts of your body; well, battle scars are cool, right? Even temporary ones? Pass!
8-9 : You managed to land a strong hit after summoning your inner man, causing TeddyWeddy to go back to its original, cute and harmless form. Great pass!

Optional finale
Having proved your worth and strength as a real MAN of MANLINESS, you were allowed into the cave, where a treasure chest was...

Note: This part is completely optional!
Note 2: Roll 1d10 to determine your prize!

1-2 : A pair of socks, decorated with images of Bearel, knitted by Funshine Mama bear herself. You're steal baby Bearel's socks? )8
3-4 : A giant bear suit. Hey, at least it's warm?
5-6 : A delicious pie with a filling that you like! How mysterious!
7-9 : A trophy with the words "I FOUGHT THE 3 BEARS AND LIVED" on it.
10 : A silver seed! Hurray! Please quote "Dragain" with your Minipet sn for your prize!

You stole from three minipets! I hope you feel fantastic about yourself!

Bonus Mechanics:
THIS IS THE WILDERNESS, TOUGH IT OUT. Oh yeah, these minipets are rather oversized, by the way, but still smaller (and cuter) than you... With baby Bearel being almost minipet-sized and papa TeddyWeddy being close to grizzly size!

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS RP WHEN...

You defeat Teddyweddy and drag your a** back to Amityville. Any less is failure because you are not a MAN.

Petro had been feeling... unpleasant lately. That little revelation of Needle and Ulmuka's status, the recent visit from his Aunt, they hadn't been exactly... happy-inducing things. Which was why the horse boil was itching for a fight. Not just a spar. Not just a simple match. He wanted a brawl. He wanted to hit and to be hit, he wanted to push himself to his physical limits, he wanted to hurt so bad on the outside the ache carving its way through his chest will feel like a jacking tickle.

Which was why he was here. On the mountain where Professor Malcolm held his Open Class. Why rather than bundled up like everyone suggested he do, he was in his real form, and dressed the way he always was. The only hint he was taking any sense of precaution for this class was that he'd asked his friend Sheridan to join him.

Sheridan had been willing enough to join his friend in professor Malcom's class, despite the fact that he hated those damned bears, oh how he hated those bears!

But it was a smile he gave his friend as he saw him approach, leaning himself against a crag of rock, his long tail flicking behind him. Sheridan knew that Tro had always been the physical type, therefore he had not been surprised by the request, nor had he thought much about the reason for it. But now he wondered, suddenly realizing that there was more to the request than a class or training. There was something else, something that was troubling his friend, though he did not know what.

"Tro."

A gruff nod to his friend as the only acknowledgment being given, the horse boil wasn't in any condition (or mood) to waste body heat with words. Instead the grimace and the attempt to scale the mountain was all Tro needed to do, because he understood and trusted Sheridan would know that it meant he'd meet his friend at the top.

The wind buffeted tiny shards of ice against the monster horse, ripping not into clothes and fabric but into skin and flesh. By the time Petro reached the top, he was breathing hard, harder thanks to the thin air. He was bleeding where the shards cut but Tro did not care. He barely felt the stinging.

He attributed that to the cold more than his current state of mind. Brown eyes searched for his friend, knowing that the celestial dragon would have no trouble with the cold.

Sheridan's eyes narrowed, shooting a look at Petro, a look that said he -knew- something was up and that he had every intention of weaseling it out of Tro later. If his friend thought he'd get off with no questions asked, he was mistaken. But for now, Sheridan only returned the nod, spread his wings, and with a single leap sailed toward the top of the mountain.

By the time Petro reached the top, Sheridan was already waiting for him. He stood with his arms crossed, a glare in his eyes as he gazed into the cave, a definite show of irritation in the lash of his tail. Stupid bears, he -hated- those bears.

He did not turn as he heard Petro's footsteps.

"Ready?"

Phase 2

Perhaps Tro had been a little too eager to get into the heat of things. But it was exactly what he was looking for. It didn't matter if the end result was his loss and defeat against a miniscule bear. He felt claw and teeth and fur fly. The only thing that would have made this better if the bear had wings that he might be able to tear out. Possibly one more reason why he couldn't ask Sheridan to a spar instead.

"Y' AIN'T GONNA GET RID'V ME SO EASY!" Petro swore upon his forcible descent from the mountain.

phase 2

Sheridan raised a brow, a snap of his tail as he watched Tro. Well that was...unexpected. He had never seen Petro as he was, what the jack was up with him anyway? He'd have to find out later it seemed.

Eyes narrowed, a snort, Sheridan leveled a glare at that stupid little bear. His jaws parted, released an ear-splitting roar that echoed off the mountain, through the cave, and sent that stupid bear scurrying right back into the cave where it had come from.

Hmph, stupid bear, get out of my sight!

Phase One

From the spot Petro fell, the tikbalang woke with a start, eyelids flying open and he was immediately on his feet. There was a crazed gleam in his eyes, bloodied lips pulling into a wicked grin. Oh. Oh that bear was asking for it.

And Petro didn't care how many time he would have to climb this jacking mountain. He wanted to have his brawl and by Jack he was going to get it!

phase 3

Sheridan stood with his arms crossed, tail twitching impatiently. Stupid bear, get out here! A moment passed, another, he heard a rustle in the cave but saw no sign of the stupid bear.

An angry snort, a lash of his tail, Sheridan turned. He wasn't standing around waiting for any stupid bear! Turning on his heel he stalked from the cave, he really hated those bears.

Phase Two

After the trek back to the top at breakneck speed, it wasn't long until the tikbalang found his friend stalking away from the cave. "Y' beat 'em up good already?" he asked of the large dragon, the tikbalang's tongue idly licking at bloodied teeth. "Heh," a chuckle, and an audible crack of knuckles later, and Petro made quick work of the bear from earlier. "'S THAT ALLYA GOT? HUH?" he roared, stomping with solid hooves against the snowy ground.

Sheridan shook his head, looking decidedly grumpy as he leaned against a rock, the tip of his tail twitching like an angry cat.

"Stupid bear wouldn't come out."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 28, 2012 7:37 am

Petro turned to Sheridan, clenching and unclenching his fists that were, to the monster horse, decidedly not covered in enough blood. "The way y' are now? Ain't exactly a smart move to tangle with y', Sheridan. Can't say the same 'bout me though." he snorted beneath his breath.

Sheridan gave his friend a look. Okay, what the jack was wrong with him? He had seen his friend upset before, he remembered how they had all been affected and nearly destroyed by the trails. But this, he had never seen Petro like this.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

Was that a challenge? If Tro had wanted to spar he only need to have asked. There was no need to use the stupid bears as an excuse. Hmm, no, there was something else there, and he was quickly concluding he did not like the way Petro was acting.

The horse boil quirked a square-root brow up at the dragon, "It don't take a genius to see one ain't got a chance against a dragon." He wasn't sure why Sheridan would take his words to mean something else. "Thought we were here to tear some bears apart?"

"Maybe."

Sheridan was confident enough, no longer the reserved dragon he once had been, no longer one to simply fly away from conflict rather than face. Now he was bold, determined, unafraid. But he knew he had his faults, that he was far from invincible, and though he had grown stronger, he still had much to learn.

"We did. But is this is really about?"

He stood straight, a twitch of his tail. He knew there was something more, and he intended to find out what.
