Also I find it funny that an animu version of the same concept (crossover RPG) is coming out for the PSP? Though that contains Darker than Black, Sergeant Frog, Slayers, and Orphen instead of .hack// BUT STILL. I just find it interesting!

Honestly, that is awesome. I am legit looking forward to that, but the fact that Ban-superrobotwars-presto is involved with this one... It's not just going to be a powerhouse of everything we know and love, it's going to be a legitimately good game.
It's too bad that 3DS's are apparently ALL ABOUT the region locking, because if this never does come stateside, as it very well may not...
Well, have fun buying a Japanese 3DS if you ever want to play it. Sigh.

But this concept is extremely attractive to me, especially since, graphic- wise, it reminds me a little of Golden Sun meets Final Fantasy Tactics. Though I am definitely relieved to see that it is Kite rather than one of his thousands of incarnations that have occurred over .hack// history.

I WILL TELL EVERYONE Slate, I've missed you! And ditto for the Kite thing. About the only Kite clone I have tolerance for any more is Azure Kite because he at least has a plot reason to look that way besides "WELL HEY LOOK AT THAT YOU LOOK KIND OF LIKE KITE ISN'T THAT COOL!!!"
@[Dill] - I don't own a 3DS, so that puts a damper on my plans even if it does come stateside! But I'd say between this and //Versus, we probably have more of a chance of seeing this since it has much more than .hack// in it. At least that's how I feel seeing as how apparently //Link never got a US release? I am not up on my .hack news, so feel free to correct me on this. Though that might not mean much, since PSP RPG =/= PS3 fighting game so maybe //Versus will be more marketable that way?
That and who doesn't want to beat up Haseo COME ON he was such a jerk in the first game

chapter 16 has another .hack theme:
a form of goblin tag. you have to kill 4 stehonies before they get to skeith with a key... you have to use certain skills to catch up. normally I don't use skill, so this was hard.

Chapter 19: At the end, Kite uses Gate Hacking to help everyone escape the level.
Chapter 20: Megaman world and Skeith again. Skeith has apparently fragmented Aura again, and chapters 21-23 will be collecting the pieces.
Xiaomu and Erica also make some jokes about area word combinations. Xiaomu: Doctor Balrog's Misery! Erica: Flan Melon Crepe! (yum!) Chapter 21: Even has the original R:1 area load screen! It's supposedly a .hack level but themed on RE zombies. Delta Raging Haunted Mansion. Chapter 22: Delta God-Eating Fools' Carrier (God Eaters) Chapter 23: Delta Transporting Merciful Goddess (Resonance of Fate)
Chapter 24: Skeith escapes with the 4th fragment of Aura... Chapter 28: Aura's fragment is recovered. Oh, and Kite/Black Rose learn Meteor Strike multi attack at level 38.
Chapter 29: Infected Mac Anu, with 2 Skeith clones and a Skeith Zero?

btw, that first post mentions that Sanger doesn't have a partner. That's correct; he's a support character for the pairs.
More info on game attacks:
Basically, the game is set up in pairs that each can have a support character equipped as well, and can also get assistance during a battle by another pair who is adjacent to their square. You start with 3-5 directional attacks (+1 bonus if you use each one once) plus up to two more attacks using L and R. These become cross attacks if you use L/R while attacking at the same time as the directional attacks. Finally, at 100% or more, you can do a special attack with your main team by pressing Y during the attack. Some pairs also get a multi-attack special, but you have to have 100%, be within range of multiple enemies, and switch to the attack instead of starting combat.
