  Here's the story. Everybody has always said my friend Cole and I should go out. Don't get me wrong, he's a really nice guy. I even had a crush on him for a little while. Even when I had a crush on him, people said we should go out. However, I don't think he liked me then. And, I got over him.
Now, people are being more persistant that ever. One of Cole's friends keeps on saying we should go out. He just messaged me on Facebook that Cole "needs a girl." I asked him if Cole directly told him that and he said that Cole mentioned me by name, saying that he wants to go out with me.
Honestly, I don't know what to do. I don't want to go out with Cole. This would have been my dream a couple of months ago, but, like I said, I got over him. I'm afraid that if I reject him, though, our friendship will be ruined. Any advice?

Take it easy on him. Maybe if he asks you directly, tell him that you're not ready yet. Or that you just wanna be friends. Maybe if you develop feelings for him again you could go out with him or something.

This makes me sad ):
I have a guy best friend too that everyone is always saying I should go out with. I dont know about him, but Ive kind of liked him on and off, but if I ever came on to him or asked him out and he turned me down, Id be crushed. Dont break his heart, hes probably really worried about losing you as a friend. If you are sure about turning him down, please say you still want to be friends after and just go about things like it never happened.

Ugh, I know how you feel..My best friend is a guy and our friends are always pairing us up. I like him though, but in the past I didn't, so I get where you're coming from.
I say talk to him. Tell him his friend told you he likes you, see what he says, and if it's true, tell him you used to have a crush on him too but you don't feel the same anymore.
But if you think there's a chance you might start liking him again, tell him that too, but don't get his hopes up or anything.
Idk, that's what I'd do.

I think the best thing to do is to talk to him, but maybe finding out if her really does like you will spark old feelings again.. You never know what can happen
I have been in this situation.. But at the point when people where pairing me and a friend of mine together, I didn't like him and didn't want to be his girlfriend. To a point, one of my friends harrassed me about it, so I teared up emotion_donotwant
A year or so later, I developed feelings for him.. He found out.. Man that was akward, cause when he found out I didn't feel the same. But now a friend of mine is constently teling me "Hannah (I used my real name, as it is very common), you need to go out with him.. I can tell you are crushing on him" so we'll see what happens when school resumes emotion_awesome

 i think you should talk to him about it. and ask him if that is really what he said. instead of assuming that he did. so instead of worrying about rather you will have to reject him or not. see what is really going on, then you can pass the rejection or acception of being with him. if or when you come to it.

I would personally just keep being friends for right now. my best guy friend was in and still is in band. he asked me out we went out and i broke it off with him because of some personal reasons. anyway i liked him, people said we would look good together, we be together forever. stuff like that. we still friends just not as close as we used to be.
