So the story begins...

Forever lost to wonder the world was one of the most tragic yet beautiful gifts possible. In the eyes of a ghostly girl, it wasn't completely a living nightmare. There were moments and points in time that brought a smile to Maura's face. Though, since her death, she has endlessly wondered the world for two hundred years. She's seen the ever changing world, knows the secrets that hide within the shadows, and embraces the experiences. In her eyes, not all is lost. Over the years, she has mastered the ghostly techniques of getting by in this afterlife. Though, the one things she hasn't mastered yet was having a happy ending. An impossible dream that she can't seem to reach. She's stood by and watched others around her find their love and have the happy endings she wished to have.
That was all just day dreaming to her now. Maura knew she would never have a happy ending. She accepted that. Her transparant figure floating through the city. She acted as any normal human; walking the sidewalk and viewing through the windows. It was meaningless motions that kept her busy through time. If there ever were a human or being that knew she was there, they didn't show it. Maura knew that spirits weren't interesting enough to others. She stood at the corner of a fairly busy street and watched as life passed her by. Some humans unknowingly walking through her in this process.

Heading down the street Nero followed his daily path to work. A task that bored him to death but also made him nervous. He checked his hood, making sure it wouldn't fall off and reveal his lupine ears that were hidden underneath. He didn't always live in the city, he used to live on the edge of a small town with his parents, where he didn't have to hide who he was. He was a werewolf, a creature of myth and legend. His late parents had been the same but even with the three of them they were able to hide their secret easily enough. He however wasn't like other werewolves. Where most appeared to be human and gained wolf like features or simply became wolves when they changed he could never remove his ears and tail. Since the death of his parents he had never found anyone else remotely like him, so instead he simply hid it as best he could, and it worked, even if it was uncomfortable with his tail shoved in his pants and ears pressed against his head from the hoodie.
He let out a soft sigh as he turned a corner, accidentally bumping into a girl. When he turned to apologize however he realized that not only had he just walked through her, but it seemed he could quite literally see through her, to a degree. He stopped where he was, curiosity getting the better of him as he tried to get the girls attention. "Hey, you okay?"

Maura was unphased when a boy had walked through her. She was use to it afterall. Though, what did catch her off guard was the fact that he stopped and was now asking if she was alright. This didn't happen often to her, considering she's a spirit and most beings didn't pay attention to her. Her eyes widened as she turned to look at him. One was an emerald green and the other was a sky blue. Her hair was midnight black that reached to her mid back and swayed with her every movement. A shocked expression playing on her face. She started wondering what sort of being he could be. Human? No, it was rare for a human to have the ability to fully see her. Other being? Possibly, but again, she was usually ignored by other beings. A small smile began to spread across her lips as she moved closer to him.
"You can see me? Really see me?" She asked, her voice soft and sweet. Maura was trying her bezt to contain all the excitement that was bottling up inside her. It wasn't often that someone paid attention to her. Well, someone that wasn't another spirit. Then again, other spirits weren't exactly sociable. It was a lonely after life and Maura was pleased with anyone that would actually talk to her.

Nero nodded slowly, looking her over as he thought about what she said. "Yeah I can't see you, plain as day. Other people..." He trailed off as he watched what seemed to be a business man walk through her, "can't. That must get weird. C'mon, I must look like an idiot sitting here talking to nobody in general if I'm the only one who can see you." He motioned for her to follow as he started walking down the street again, ignoring the odd glances he was getting from the people that had just passed him as he spoke to the girl.

She began following him, understanding that people would think it strange that he was talking to himself. "If you're worried about other's staring, then pretend you have one of those mobile ear devices. I've seen people do that in movies. As for everyone walking through me, I'm use to it. Though, I'm not use to living beings seeing me and responding to my presence." She replied, saying more than she had planned on saying. Maura could become a bit chatty when it came to interacting with others. It was just her friendly nature to seek out friendships. Being alone for so long usually made her talk someone's ear off. "So how can you see me? Were you gifted with the third eye as a child? Most humans don't have that ability, and if they did, they tried their best to not interact with spirits. It's not often that a have a human walk through me and ask if I was alright." She continued to speak, forgetting that she should give him a chance to reply.
