You may notice if you are observant that my signature is a scene from "Maid Marian and her merry men" written by Tony Robinson, regarded as Blackadder for kids and possibly the greatest kids tv show ever.
I truly believe that I was a very lucky child indeed to get the plethora of great kids programs that were around in the early-mid nineties.
There was Playdays, Postman pat, Fireman sam (which is back on and RUINED. They make him actually do hero stuff, rather than get cats out of drainpipes and fit Bella's smoke alarm) Fun House, Danger mouse, Super Ted, Family Ness, Art attack, Finders Keepers, Trapdoor, That one with the tower block and it had levels where kids would be in a huge bowl of alphabetti spaghetti or on a chess board with a scary darth vader guy going Moooooove, Knightmare, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, AQUILLA, Live and kicking.. then later on SMTV live, which was just genius.
So many fantastic theme tunes! which I, of course DO NOT know the words too *cough*
There were also many fantastic offerings from overseas by way of Transformers, Thundercats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-man, She-ra, Power Rangers! (I remember watching the first episode ever aired on British TV- it was quite an emotional moment) The Racoons
(The quote in my sig is true- I was a big Robin Hood fan as a kid and used to go around with a bow and quiver of arrows- except being a girl Maid Marian was always a bit wimpy and pathetic. This Maid Marian however was an rolemodel worth looking up to!)
I watched too much TV as a child.

I'm not sure if it's actually British, but Pingu was God.
Live and Kicking made me feel physically ill.

The scarey guy terrorised me so much I could barely watch it but it was great. I didn't like Live and Kicking either. Or any of the other breakfast shows. It wasn't a childrens show but there was a review program on that had little cartoonish film strips and they were always the same but I remember it really well. Didn't actually watch the program but I loved the little bits of cartoon strip.

I just might be digging myself a burial hole when i say 'Blue Peter and Art attack'... I've wasted countless hours ranting about the fearful man on Art Attack, something about him just gives me the creeps. Also, Blue Peter showed me several important lessons: 1) Recycle. 2)If you fish somebody who can't swim out of a pond and then boast about it, you can go to Lego land for free (regardless of wether you were actually the one who pushed them in or not). 3) Make sure you have your assistants prepare stuff earlier, just like in Art Attack.
(NOO~! Not d**k and Dom! gonk They killed all that was remaining funny in the word 'random' and served it up with profane screaming of nasal fluids >.> )

I never found out how to apply though, and I seem to recall it only ever allowing shaven-headed working-class types to take part.

(NOO~! Not d**k and Dom! gonk They killed all that was remaining funny in the word 'random' and served it up with profane screaming of nasal fluids >.> ) I liked Blue Peter too. At least until they had that girl who collected fourleaf clovers go on. I was utterly disgusted at her, you do not go out with a magnifying glass and try to find four leaf colers with incredibly small 4th leaves. You let them come to you. It worked. I didn't like art attack but I did like Smart. And I wanted to be on Funhouse too.
