Spelunking good time! [PRP Ice_Dragon_Demon & I]

Ailith had been studying the maps of this area for month visiting time and again to make sure they were as accurate as she needed them to be, she wasn't sure what she was going to find but she was ready for anything her gear carefully packed, the caverns below her had once been inhabited and she was determined to catalog her discoveries, there were great finds down there she could feel it, things that hadn't seen the light of day in centuries. Little was known about who once inhabited the caverns but she was going to find out. This could be one of her greatest discoveries and the board of directors was sure to be impressed. She opened her pouch to double check she had everything and doing a mental check for items too far down in the pack to see without pulling everything back out, yep it was all there, she was ready. She squirmed back into it and followed her map to the mouth of the caverns, it was time to go spelunking!

Ailith turned at the sound of someone speaking and saw what appeared to be a rather peeved kitsu, was she the protector of these caves? She seemed to be a warrior by the armor she wore but she hadn't heard of anyone coming to these cavers the locals seemed scared of them, she of course didn't believe in ghost stories. "I'm Ailith" a warm smile was her best bet in staving off the warriors aggression. She didn't want to have to fight if she could avoid it. "I'm an archeologist, I was hoping to do some work in these cavern" She looked over the warrior trying to gauge her reaction and noticed she was either pregnant or fat, either way she was going to be slower and if it came to blows Ailith felt more confident now in her chances "I didn't think anyone came around here, glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't believe in ghosts" she smiled hoping to warm the warriors cold exterior.

"pleasure Marcia, it seems you are quite the embodiment of your name" she smiled chuckling a bit "no spikes, I'm excavating some ancient settlements in the hopes of finding artifacts and learning more about the inhabitants" she thought for a moment about the offer now if she was pregnant it didn't seem like the best idea... if she was fat she wasn't sure about her abilities, it might be best for her to go alone ... but what could happen in a cave no one has been in in centuries? Not that she hadn't told herself that before and still wound up in trouble "I wouldn't mind the company if you would like to join, save me from talking to myself" she smiled only half joking. If Marica had come here to train often she would know the caves and any possible dangers so why not right? What's the worst that could happen?

Ailith smiled, she thought she might just like this kitsu, it was hard to find good friends who would put up with her moods but this kitsu seems a bit like herself and she couldn't help but like her for it. I was planning on going a ways in, there should be a branch of the caverns that go to the left and down to a fresh water lake inside, from the research I've done there was a temple build in that chamber the lake seems to have been a holy place a dwelling for their god and they would offer sacrifices to it by throwing items into the lake. I was hoping to find the temple and learn more about the people and this god of theirs. She followed Marcia into the cave entrance trusting her to be the guide, she was getting rather excited about this dig already, what would she find? What would she learn?

Ailith ignored Marcia's stumble she was sure now that she was pregnant her belly was too firm to be fat and she really hoped allowing her to come along wasn't a mistake, she would hate for something to happen to those eggs, she smiled when Marcia spoke passion was the one thing she had in aces and spades. "I most heartily agree, passion is quiet important" she followed closely behind having spent much of her time excavating in dark places her night vision was quite accute, plenty of carrots and all that.

"Quite alright" she smiled not sure if Marcia could hear the smile in her voice or not, but she appreciated the concern. She stopped when the rocks fell listening closely, it was hard to tell where exactly they fell the echoing in the cavern masking the origin, she only hoped it wasn't blocking their path, she had to blink protecting her eyes when the light appeared and then to try to clear the spots from her vision, that was rather unexpected where had it come from? Perhaps there were metals in the rocks and they had struck so as to spark, perhaps there was oil or some flamable liquid seeping into the cavern with the water that momentarily held a flame from that spark? It was too easily rationalized for her to give it much more thought. "Hmm looks like the water here might be flamable we will have to be careful not to cause any sparks"

Ailith went over and took a sip, she was right there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary mineral taste to be expected from cave water. She swished the water around in her mouth like someone tasting a fine wine trying to detect all the subtle flavors but she simply couldn't detect anything that might be flamable. "You're right, hmm, perhaps so, someone playing a trick on us. Let's not give them the satisfaction of getting a reaction." She watched the light only briefly before determining not to acknowledge it at all, it would only encourage the prankster. "Yes lets, I am quite excited to see what secrets these caves hold" She could only imagine what these caves could teach her

She gave a skeptical look something so small was hardly dangerous. As it flew up and lit the structure above she tried to make out what it was, why would the ancients have constructed something up there? How did they get up there? She searched for an entrance in the dim light but couldn't see a way in until the light brought along friends "hmmm must be some kind of cave firefly.. interesting. I'd like to study one some time." An old ruined stair case crawled along the wall of the cave large sections missing and completely unusable, good think she brought climbing gear. First thing was first though, she wanted to excavate the old temple "They are quite beautiful"

Ailith wondered if her companion wasn't the nervous type, that would certainly be no good, but when she heard the scream she stopped in her tracks looking in every direction trying to find the source of the scream, echos making it impossible her ears still swiveled independent of her head until something told her to look up "Oh shi- MOVE!" she leaped up hoping to avoid the giant rock heading for her then she saw a girl clinging to the rock, Ailith made a desperate grab to catch her hooking her paw into the girls red belt but the momentum of the girl and rock brought Ailith down with them only succeeding in slowing the girls fall enough to save her from any massive injuries, broken bones was still possible but survivable. Ailith knew her arm was worse for wear ripped from its socket possible tendon tears she landed with a thud on the ground next to the girl certainly not pleased by how things went but glad enough she was still alive and in one piece.

She took a moment lying there to collect herself and asses the situation before getting up with a groan and a wince, yeah definitely dislocated she frowned then looked to the girl on the ground beside her "Are you alright?"
