Cadian IG Restoration/Tallarn Conversion

Thanks to a very generous Christmas/birthday gift, I am the proud owner of a large regiment of Cadians. However, they took some damage during shipping, and are in various stages of paint (from bare plastic to almost-complete) and thus several need stripping as well.

Right now, about 50 minis need some sort of repair, from broken hands, weapons, bases, bayonets, to the completely dismembered Sentinel.

In addition, there are roughly 80-100 infantry models, including lots of special weapons, snipers, Commissars, officers and sergeants.

On the armor side, there are 17 tanks and 2 super-heavy Baneblades. Most of these are in relatively good condition, though 4 need to have tracks put on them.

I'll post updates as I make progress in restoring units. Right now, I'm going through the damaged ones and repairing them, gluing parts back together, replacing some pieces, and stripping paint off of some of the models so I can apply a new basecoat.

Well I've finished the repair of the heavy weapons teams, pics to follow. Now, mostly dealing with damaged lasguns and models missing hands.

Alright, heavy weapons teams. They've been repaired physically, but some still need stripping and re-priming. Of this batch, we've got:

3X Lascannon teams
2X Heavy Bolter teams
2X Autocannon teams
1X Missile Launcher team
1X Mortar team (single base)
5X Mortar teams (separate bases)

I grouped the missile launcher with the Autocannons and the mortar with the heavy bolters, and will probably do the same on the army list. I still need to pick a guardsman for the second member of one of the mortar teams... But anyway, here's the pictures!

I suppose I should put off tallying the unit count then. I got another 10 or so Guardsmen repaired last night. Mac really likes sergeants, doesn't he? xp

Quite so, but I'm not complaining! Once I have the units tallied, I'll be able to determine what I need to do with my box of unbuilt Guardsmen to balance out the units.

Right now I'm going through and stripping paint off of the infantry down to the primer. Whatever primer you used Mac, it's strip-proof, but that's fine 'cause I use black primer anyway. Once that's done I'm going to finish separating into squads and fill in the holes with unbuilt guardsmen I have set aside. 3nodding
