This Valentine's event has reminded me that I really enjoy reading poetry--so, let's take this thread as a chance to share poetry--silly or otherwise. Written by you, or someone famous. I really don't care. I just want to look at some poetry, yo.
FATHER WILLIAM
by: Lewis Carroll
"YOU are old, Father William," the young man said, "And your hair has become very white; And yet you incessantly stand on your head-- Do you think, at your age, it is right?" "In my youth," Father William replied to his son, "I feared it might injure the brain; But, now that I'm perfectly sure I have none, Why, I do it again and again." "You are old," said the youth, "as I mentioned before, And have grown most uncommonly fat; Yet you turned a back-somersault in at the door-- Pray, what is the reason of that?" "In my youth," said the sage, as he shook his gray locks, "I kept all my limbs very supple By the use of this ointment -- one shilling the box -- Allow me to sell you a couple?" "You are old," said the youth, "and your jaws are too weak For anything tougher than suet; Yet you finished the goose, with the bones and the beak-- Pray, how did you manage to do it?" "In my youth," said his father, "I took to the law, And argued each case with my wife; And the muscular strength which it gave to my jaw Has lasted the rest of my life." "You are old," said the youth, "one would hardly suppose That your eye was as steady as ever; Yet you balanced an eel on the end of your nose-- What made you so awfully clever?" "I have answered three questions, and that is enough," Said his father; "don't give yourself airs! Do you think I can listen all day to such stuff? Be off, or I'll kick you down-stairs!"

I wrote this a long, long time ago when I was piss. The troublesome tango
We keep dancing on the dance floor leading each other wrong.Lack communicating and not allowing both to share to lead. We keep messing up the dance move and going back to the beginning .Tripping on each other because we refused to listen to one another. So we are on the dance floor not balancing , not steady but as two people lack communicating so we fall apart. It takes two to tango I feel I'm only one.
another old one- IF only, if only, I had somebody to call my own If only, if only I had somebody special and I was not alone If only, If only, someday I had a lover Somebody I can be with forever If only, If only my dreams would come true Then I wouldn't be feeling so blue If only if only this tricked called love wasn't so cruel If only, if only hopefully someday somebody
"forgettable" another-We were friends, we told each other jokes and told each other stories. I was there for you when you needed somebody to talk to I was always cheering for you and cared so much for you But you took my kindness and abused it and for that I can't forgive We had a row and I pleaded to you to have our friendship back. But you ignore it and reject it and turn your back. You fear being forgotten you have no one but yourself to blame You chose to ignore the problem and block me from your life. You create your own fear to come true because you ignore anyone who hurts you You are easily forgettable because you make your self be that way. Mr. invisible because he can bare to take the truth. Your fear soon will come true, you'll be alone You hurt me you brought me nothing but tears But I am sick of you I laugh at you because soon everyone will forget you. You will never feel my pain, all I did for you and you forgot it and push me away Mr. invisible things could never be the same You think I am in vain, but that's not me at all You act like a little child run away when things go wrong Your a fool to ignore it and hide from it and to treat me the way you did. So I forgot about you I can't stand you. Mr. invisible who is forgettable.
of wait did you just want cheerful poems?
