So yeah I've been writing a manga series, and now that I have seven chapter complete, I want to post it to the web to share with people. Since I've not published it into a book-format, how can I license it online to share with my friends who I may not talk to in daily life or who may not have time to read it offline? As in how to get a legal license so that I dont have to pay but people cant franken-doll or claim my work as their own while still sharing to a group of people?

Anything published online, from art to written content to website coding, is subject to certain copyrights laws depending on the material. With or without a license, the idea could be ripped off (the same way there's a million magical girl manga out there) but it would be entirely possible to sue someone who steals your artwork or your story on the basis of copyright infringement. I suggest publishing your manga online with a watermark (signature), and always keeping the original files/sketches in case you ever need proof that it was yours. You don't need a license, and you can post it virtually anywhere online.
