Opimus Fellah
Name: Opimus Fellah. Opimus is latin for abundant / fertile / plump / splendid and Fellah is arabic for farmer / peasant / laborer. He tends to go by his last name, Fellah.
Blood Colour: Red Blood (#C6361A)
Symbol: Bundle of hay / wheat.
Personality: Fellah is probably one of the simplest trolls you'd meet. Being such a lowblood he's lived on the far outskirts of the New Hemisect City for as long as he can remember with his hoofbeast lusus. In the wide open plains Fellah took to cultivating the land and raising hoofbeasts. However soon as his first livestock came of age to be slaughtered for sustenance Fellah came to realize that he had grown so attached to them that he could never bring himself to feast on their succulent meat. Instead he grows fields of crops that he enjoys eating and sells what's left over in the city.
While Fellah is quite simply a dumb bumbling bumpkin he has enough wits about him to know that if he tries to talk or interface with any of the highbloods without them interacting with him first could result in quite a bit of misfortune for him. When he goes into the city on rare occasions to sell his crops he keeps quiet and to himself; until someone approaches him that is. Once you start talking with Fellah he'll make it a grand mission to befriend you and has a pension for lack of personal space and will be quite chummy (ie. crushing hugs, pats on the back that are liable to knock some of the smaller trolls over and a bellowing laugh that is rumored to be heard across town). With this habit of his he rarely makes much money selling his crops, instead he winds up giving most of them away.
Fellah welcomes anyone onto his farm-hive and will house and feed any wayward traveler or lost troll that stumbles upon it. He's been robbed a couple times in the past due to his overly trusting nature and dim wits that allows him to be easily taken advantage of.
The hemospectrum is a confusing concept to Fellah, he realizes that he lays at the bottom of it but never understood the purpose of it. He doesn't tend to think about it (or much else for that matter) too heavily. He just likes to live contently out of the way of the highblooded trolls and is rarely affected by slang or slurs thrown his way.
While generally more passive than other trolls Fellah is quite able to put up a tough fight. Working on the farm and eating as much as he does Fellah is quite the opponent if his normally even temper is ever thrown off kilter. The best way to upset him is if his friends or quadratic others are threatened or hurt. Fellah will quickly rush to their aid doing whatever he can to help.
Passing time on his farm Fellah acquired his hobbies of: lounging around hay piles and watching the Alternian sky. He knows very little about the stars and moons but enjoys relaxing and watching them glow and twinkle. He also enjoys carpentry, building additions to his farm, wagons, barrels, all sorts of things. He has become handy with a hammer and nail. Fellah also likes nothing more than sitting down to a feast he prepared for himself and gorging himself until he hears his chair start to creak. He's lost quite a few pants buttons this way. The simple troll doesn't have much technology though he does enjoy his handheld gaming device of which he owns and plays a plethora of quadrant dating simulators which he saves up to buy when he goes to sell his crops in the city. At a young age Fellah's lusus began to worry that his troll would be cut off too much from other trolls and that he wouldn't be able to develop proper troll emotions. So as an aid to his troll the lusus went out and returned with Fellah's first dating sim, since then he's been hooked. This taste for over-exaggerated dating games branched it's way out into trashy television soap operas that he watches on an old television that he had also gotten from his lusus many sweeps ago.
Fellah is happy on his own but dreams of the excitement and drama that comes along with his trashy shows and games. It has transformed him into a bit of a romantic, favoring the redder sections of the quadrants but also pining for the great dramas and turbulent emotions that come with the blacker ones as well.
Strengths:
Caring: Fellah will easily open up to others and can find a way to care about most any troll. Most others don't understand this aspect of him because it is unusual for trolls to have a pleasant attitude towards strangers in place of a more competitive 'dog eat dog world' attitude. However because of this other trolls benefit from his kindness and can receive food, shelter or a friend for nothing in return. Fellah doesn't think much about the fact that he is so caring, it's just the way he is. His upbringing had conditioned him that way, both from living in such a rural area as well as having a gentle hoofbeast as a lusus.
Sturdy: With a massive and well built body Fellah can withstand a lot of adverse conditions physically. He can also easily hold his own in a bare knuckle brawl if in the rare occasion he is ever made to fight or defend. Fellah is quite happy with his size, it's very helpful for his work and life-style. He'll joke about his physique with other trolls some times.
Honest: It is quite unusual for Fellah to lie. His simple mind doesn't see a need for weaving deception. The few instances that he may lie would be to save someone important to him or to save himself if it doesn't hurt anyone. To Fellah honesty is a very important way of life. Seeing where lies get other trolls in his soaps and dating sims he is adamant to try and avoid those same mistakes. Flaws:
Dumb: Fellah is by no means a smart troll. He knows what it takes to run his farm and few other things here and there but he has never been taught much about the higher education of troll society. Math, Science, Literature, it is all lost on the dim witted Fellah. He's aware that he isn't the most educated of his kin, he'd like to better himself and he's tried to learn on his own; unfortunately Fellah just isn't the best student and often only comes out of a text book confused and befuddled.
Passive: With a very passive attitude Fellah is easily taken advantage of and walked all over. He also has little opportunity of climbing the ladder of society because he wouldn't be able to find it within himself to walk over other trolls to get anywhere. Being out in the rural plains Fellah doesn't realize just how passive he really is. He assumes that it's a city thing that makes trolls so aggressive and competitive, though he doesn't hold it against them or find it wrong. He's just unaware of the harsh real Alternian world.
Aloof: Fellah is mostly unaware of the problems and politics in troll society. He partially ignores it because of his blood color and partially doesn't understand it. He tends to space out and has difficulty taking certain things seriously. Fellah has had few run ins with the politics of the world, the worst often being just that he's degraded for being a lowblood. So he is quite content being aloof and unaware.
Appearance: Fellah wears simple practical clothes. Usually in varying shades of black and grey he will occasionally wear an undershirt or handkerchief that matches his blood color. Overalls, flannels, jeans, boots, work gloves etc. He lives and works on his farm, he wears whatever is best for the weather and best to work in. In the warmer months he wears as little as possible since most of the time he will be doing heavy manual labor, in the colder months he'll usually throw on a flannel or sweater. He is a sturdy built troll, he has a strong body but it's a bit more doughy around his middle. He's a cornfed farm boy and looks the part. His horns are just short of being stubby and come out the side of his head right above his ears. He has short scruffy looking hair and sideburns, it's rarely combed or maintained. He has a big smile to match his jolly laugh and has a bit of a gap in between his front two teeth.
