Portrait Contest Nov.6- Nov. 21 (may extend?)

In this contest you shall draw a PORTRAIT!

For the purpose of this contest I'm defining a portrait as a headshot or bust of a person. But it's not just a simple headshot- the focus should be on the face and expression. Which is why, while backgrounds are awesome, you don't want to add too much detail outside the face.

Draw yourself, your avatar, your OC, a celebrity, the boyfriend of your dreams, whoever the hell you want. lol Traditional or digital, realistic, abstract, or anime/manga style- anything is fine as long as you follow the aforementioned definition.

Judging will be based on effort, originality, quality, et cetraaa but most importantly the expression or character of your subject. Your portrait should tell a story, or show an interesting side of your character! You may submit as many entries as you like, but I suggest you give it your all on one piece. Also, you will only be eligible for one prize.

1st- 50K
2nd- 25K
3rd- 15K
4th- 10K
5th- 5K

Winners:

Choosing the winners was very difficult and everyone was really good at something, but here they are (along with my thoughts and my reasoning for the ranking... which you are welcome to comment back on.) Thank you all so much for participating, and I hope you learned something new while drawing your entry! surprised

1. Tachanne
Although it's simple and a little sketchy, I gave you first place because her pose and expression show character (the raised eyebrow is a nice touch!) The one-color palette is nice too. It made me feel like I was on the other side staring back at her lol you have a unique style!

2. Pandiecakes
It's well drawn and very balanced; I like the bold colors, which give it more impact. The angry expression is well done and overall I thought it was really nice!

3. Melody Gogyu
Awesome embarrassed/helpless expression; you really captured that well! And the eyes are really well colored. soo great job!

4. Sapphirianna
You drew Edward with a really sorrowful (or is it thoughtful?) expression, which is really cool; the overall balance is good too. It's a shame it's on lined paper though, I think it'll look a lot cleaner if you draw on white paper. but overall, nice job!

5. Coco Kitty the Killer X
You showed effort on your lines and coloring! It's a lovely drawing of your friend :>
