Story Lauren's the weird kid in school. What makes him weird is that he is gay. Naturally, people make fun of something like that. But, what made him the object of ridicule was that his eyes are two different colors: Yellow and green. And he had a gigantic crush on another guy in the school. But when you're the kid who always eats alone at lunch, and is always picked last for everything, and never has a science partner for class... how can you ask out a guy who's perfectly normal?
Rules 1. No godmodding. EVER. 2. No one-liners. 3. PG-13. 4. You are the normal guy. Make him a jock, make him a nerd, make him an average guy with a sense of humor (preferred), but try not to make it too cliche'd. I purposely made sure to keep your character vague so that you have some creative freedom. 5. No excessive cursing. 6. I can't come up with everything. Unless you have a hippogriff fly in with Bilbo riding on it to help a princess get out of the highest room of the tallest tower or something equally stupid in this, I will go with it. In other words: HELP ME OUT WITH THE SCENES AND EVENTS. 7.Try to post at least once a week. Let me know if you can't, for any reason. 8. Send me a copy of your character profile BEFORE you post it on the profile thread. PM me with the subject: BLAHH I'M A KRAKEN FROM THE SEAAAAAA If I say yes, you can post it on the profile thread.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren sat at his usual spot in the cafeteria. Nobody ever sat beside him and he made sure to be in the far corner, where nobody would notice him. Well, he always hoped that no one would notice him. He hunched over his drawing, sketching out his latest creation. It was a patch of sunlight in the forest, with a few flowers and ferns over by a stream in the corner of the picture. Peaceful. It was where he wanted to be now. He hadn't seen this place before, but he imagined it must be wonderful. Nobody could see you there... and nothing would hurt you. The patch of light filtering through the trees would be warm and enchanting. A student walked by and picked up his milk, drinking some and spitting the backwash and most of the milk back into the carton... then spat in it. He blanched and pushed the tray of food away. He was used to this treatment, and he didn't blame them. His mother had always been warm and kind to him, but they both knew that he was an abomination. That was why she would have some new person come in every month or so to try and erase the 'demon' that made his eye such a strange color. The last one had been a demon hunter. She was surprisingly nice and made great peanut butter cookies.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

Mikhail sighed as He ate his lunch. He had a few friends here and there, but all they wanted to talk about were girls. his friends didn't know he was gay, so when they asked who he thought was the hottest girl in school was, he always shrugged his shoulders. "I never really notice. Not like anyone would date me." He muttered and went back to eating.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren watched Mikhail out of the corner of his eyes, blushing just a little bit. Mikhail was... he was normal. Lauren couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at Mikhail. To just... be at ease and talk with friends and to not be made fun of was like magic to him. He took his still full lunch tray and put it in the trash, not hungry after the student had ruined his lunch. He only ate two meals a day at this point: breakfast and dinner. Both were at home, but his mother put money into his lunch account, and monitored it daily. He didn't want to worry her by not eating, and there were a few rare occasions where he actually got to eat an unmarred lunch. He really liked those days. Once he made it back to his seat, he turned to a previous sketch that would be far more elaborate than the sketch of the sunny spot in the forest. This one was of Mikahil. He knew that he had a crush, but he wasn't going to dare act upon it. Mikhail was a good person. He was warm and nonchalant and had friends. He couldn't want someone like... well... the freak of the school. As if being gay weren't enough of a reason to be disliked here, his eyes provided an extra incentive. It was why he kept his yellow eye covered. He liked to pretend it didn't exist. Nobody could see it, and that helped him pretend that he was safe and normal. Mikhail had normal, beautiful brown eyes that made Lauren want to just hug him and feel happy. He squashed that thought down almost immediately. No hugging. No looking. No talking to him, and definitely no confessing to him. Mikhail left him alone and that was a blessing to him. He wanted at least one person in the school to not hate him and hurt him. He had long since given up on anyone liking him, even as a friend, but Mikhail didn't hurt him. He never bullied him or even spoke to him, and that was the greatest kindness he knew from someone his age.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

Mikhail sighed and stood up. He threw hi trash away and walked out of the cafeteria as the bell rang. His next class was art. He shared that class with Lauren. Lauen drew the best in the class. He was so good at it. Mikhail wished he could draw that good. He went to class and sat down in his seat.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren walked to his art class and immediately sat in the back, off to the side. In his little corner, he was safe. People couldn't look at him, and couldn't throw paper airplanes or paper balls at him. Another helpful feature of his spot was that he was near the door, which was an advantage. Being so close to the door, a quick getaway was always easy. Today, however, they managed to make fun of him. A few girls giggled hysterically when he spotted a paper mache figure on his desk. It was of a man's *ahem* private areas. With a blush, he quickly threw the offending item in the trash. Everyone had noticed it. Today was just going to be a bad day, it seemed. He hunched over his desk and got his sketchbook out again, waiting on the teacher. He knew the teacher usually made it right before the late bell, and he knew anyone could harm him during that time, if they so wished. He shared the class with Mikhail, but usually avoided him. He thought that Mikhail didn't even know who he was, and he certainly wasn't going to change that. If Mikhail didn't know who he was, or about his problems, then he was less likely to hurt him. If Lauren spoke to Mikhail, he ran the risk of that being destroyed and having the one person who actually left him alone turn against him with the others. He was so lost in his thoughts and the picture of the sunshine in front of him that he didn't even notice someone sitting next to him.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

"hi." Mikhail said with a small smile. "I was looking at your drawings and wondered, if maybe you could teach me how to draw that good?" Mikhail asked. 'I can't draw all that good and would love to learn." Just then the teacher came in and everyone became quiet. Mikhail sighed silently. He would have to wait till after class.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren started in surprise at a voice beside him, looking at who was talking to him. He froze when he saw Mikhail. Sitting beside him. Talking to him. What was he supposed to do? Mikhail had seen his drawings? Oh no... no this couldn't be happening. He was supposed to ignore Lauren's very existence! That was why he made the rules! And now... now the rules had been trampled on. He was shocked and confused and had no idea how to respond. He managed to nod shakily and hunch over his sketchbook again once the teacher came in. Mikhail wanted to learn from him? That meant talking. Talking was against his rules. Hell, eye contact was against his rules. His mind was in a frenzy, trying to understand what to do and how to react. This was new, and new was never safe. New meant different. He was different, and he wasn't received well by others, so being different was bad. He was in trouble. So, so much trouble. The other would hate him within the week, he just knew it. The teacher was saying something about an art project, but he didn't register anything she said, trapped in his worries and scenarios. First it would be drawings, and what if Mikhail saw all the drawings he'd done of him? He didn't need to think long on that. Mikhail would call him a freak and be like the others. Torment him. Perhaps if he found out, he would try to woo him and lead him to some private place... and have a group of people beat him up in order to crush his spirits and hopes once he let his guard down. No, he had to be careful about this. Just teaching him how to draw, right? Then he could go back to his corners and silence. It would be like nothing had ever happened.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

The art teacher had decide to have the class do a project with partners. "ok..um..Mikhail and Lauren. You two are partners." He then went on until everyone was paired up. he then explained the project. They had to draw a portait of their partner, but in their own way. Whether it looked like a picasso, a pastel or a caricature. "This sounds fun." Mikhail said as he wrote down the due date.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren's eyes widened. He certainly registered that he'd said their names together. The teacher had his full attention then, and his heart sank as the project was explained. Oh no... no this was bad. Partners. Project partners with the man he had a crush on, and had at least ten different pictures of him hidden away in sketchbooks that could easily qualify for the project. He wondered why he bothered at this point. He was dead. No, he was beyond dead. His entire plan was shattered to pieces as though the universe decided to pick one being and thoroughly screw them over. Not only would he have to talk to him now, but Mikhail would probably expect to see his house in order to work on the project, or for Lauren to visit his. He would learn more about him. The 'relationship' of them both keeping away from each other could no longer exist. The talk of the project and the pairing up process had taken up a good fifteen minutes, and they had the rest of class to talk and work on the project. Steeling himself, he turned to his partner. "S-so... I-I... we're p-partners..." He said weakly, trailing off. He knew it was a weak opening to a conversation, but he had no clue what to say. He had never planned for this, or considered it as an option. His head was down and he did his best to avoid eye contact with him. He knew most of the class was sending sympathetic looks towards Mikhail, and he wanted to curl up somewhere far out of sight. Hm... maybe if he just went far into the woods and never came out... that could work.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

'Yeah. This sounds like fun. i'll do my best drawing of you.' Mikhail said. "Do you want to come over to my house?" Mikhail asked Lauren. he saw some of the looks people were giving him but shrugged them away. lauren was a nice guy. he didn't know why he was hated so much.

Don't look at me. Don't stare. Lauren nodded at the suggestion, his heart pounding. He wanted to both run and stay at the same time. Mikhail was being nice to him at the moment, but that could just be because of the teacher. Faculty usually didn't mind him and some even made sure he wasn't bullied while they were around. He thought of it as a charity from them. "S-so... u-uh... wh-what should we do n-now?" He asked meekly. He couldn't very well start on some new picture of Mikhail at the moment. He technically hadn't looked at him all period. Starting on it now would only blow whatever shambles of a cover he had left. People who din't notice each other much didn't have their faces engraved in their minds. It would have been a huge give-away, and he couldn't make himself look at Mikhail either. Did Mikhail know about him? About how he was a freak? He hoped that Mikhail was oblivious to it. It would explain why he was being so nice, and it would also mean that he wouldn't be harmed by him during their time together. "U-um... wh-when you do th-the picture... p-please only show one e-eye." It would be his only request. His green eye was normal enough to be seen, but the yellow one... that was unnatural. It had to be concealed behind his hair, and he intended to keep it there.Forget my face Pretend I'm not there

'yeah of course.' Mikhail said. He wondered why the other only wanted his one eye shown. To Mikhail his green eyes were beautiful. "Do you want to get a bit to eat after school so we can get to know each other better?" Mikhail asked right before the bell rang. It always seeed that art class went quickly.
