Nahm (played by Prolixity), is an accomplished troublemaker and exquisite bender of truth. He has the ability to hunker down and fly under the radar when he must, but it's far more entertaining to cause problems with his twin (also his most constant and trusted companion). Ahm doesn't care for most people, though he and his brother will have amiable and/or working relationships with people that are either interesting/amusing/useful; however, none are immune to being pranked - sometimes maliciously.

matter. Eh hem, Ahm and Nahm may argue and fight from time to time, but they present a united front to the world and cooperate in most things. A friend to one is a friend to both; an enemy to one is an enemy to both. Ahm trusts his twin implicitly and will take anything Nahm says as truth, and expects the reverse to be true as well. It's relatively easy for them to be mistaken for one another, due to the fact that they must cover themselves completely to avoid the light, and they can and will take advantage of this fact.
Ahm is the plotter and planner, the devious 'genius' behind many of their pranks and much of their work. Nahm is a slacker by choice because of this: he knows his brother will pick up the slack without effort or bother. Neither of the deVarr twins could be called stupid; they just have differing ideas and feelings about work. Even though he's less of a slacker than his brother, when it comes to thinks that he doesn't care about or have a genuine interest in, he too is carelessly ignorant. No point in knowing things that don't help or interest him!
He has a long-reaching memory for facts and details, though Nahm is generally better at trivia and the like - Ahm's thought process is a great deal slower (unless we're talking Hunting or the like) than his twin's. Like many of his clan, he holds onto grudges like they were gold - if you cross Ahm or Nahm, you
will be dealt with and you
won't like it. Minipets are useful or delicious, sometimes both - he tends to keep only those that are sharp and creepy as he is; any others end up as meals for his 'pets'.

Family: Mother, father, six siblings, twin (Nahm)Personality Ahm is fairly easygoing and gets along well with other creeple, though he is not as charismatic and friendly as his twin, Nahm. He's quieter, with more formalized speech patterns (largely due to his status in the Clan) and more deliberate movements/choices. He, like his twin, has no sense of shame and a quick wit. Homework is loathed (on principle and in actuality) and he does more than his share of it so Nahm doesn't have to. Neither are stupid, though it could be argued that Ahm has a broader 'appreciation' for learning than his twin and is a far greater tactical mind (they really do function best, together).

Deeply loyal to those in his inner circle (currently Nahm and Merry), he's generally a friendly sort and willing to help out...as long as his interest has been caught. Ahm dislikes authority and doesn't give respect to anyone that hasn't earned it, though like most grues he puts family and clan above all else. Except Nahm, who is the most important person in his life - even if they have been forced to spend more time apart lately.
Ahm will (likely) one day be the head of the deVarr clanhold and has been groomed from birth for this purpose. The fact that he managed to get into so much trouble with Nahm is partially why they were sent to Amityvile and a major reason that they have been forcibly separated in the past. Book: Weird Tales: Close Encounters Why did they enroll at the academy? Ahm doesn't actually care for school, and would just as soon not be here. However, his family has enrolled him in an effort to get the twins away from that bunch of hoodlums they run around with; the gang's troublemaking has recently escalated towards actual crime, and the deVarr clan voted to send the twins elsewhere, in hopes that they might pick up some kind of useful education while being separated from their troublemaking friends. Ahm and Nahm have cooperated with the enrollment under threat of separation - a fate worse than school.
Fear: Fade (Swift Strikes Y1) Nahm seems to vanish from the target's perception, and slips in close to deliver a series of rapid strikes with his claws and sting.
More About Natural Abilities: Grues can eat anything. No, really. Anything. They can unhinge their jaws to eat any object (or creature) the size of their heads or smaller. Fully grown adult grues are said to be able to stretch their mouths wider to consume things half their own size, though this feat requires full darkness to perform, as it necessitates removal of the protective hood and scarves.
- Racial disadvantage: Grues are extremely light-sensitive. Their skin burns and blisters within a few minutes of direct exposure to any kind of light. To go out of the lightless caverns and basements in which they live, grues must cover themselves at all times in hooded robes to minimize exposure to light. Their eyes are also vulnerable; bursts of bright light can easily blind them for up to ten minutes.
Physical Description: Ahm is tall but with a broader, stronger form than his twin; he also tends to stand straight up, very proud and self-assured.

Hair Colour/Style: Blue-black, Long and kept pulled severely from his face - only Nahm and close family know he's got more than a few strands.

Clothing Style/Colours: Layers and layers of ragged, patchy clothes. Ahm wears fairly normal, if ragged, clothes, then covers up further with heavy boots, gloves, and hooded robes. He also adds onto this lots of pins, chains and things of the like - asian themed items tend to make their way into his 'wardrobe' more often than not due to how elegant they look even when chewed on.
Extra: Ahm's features are covered by his clothing, and his face is hidden in shadow by his hood. The only actual part of Ahm that others may see is the glint of reflected light from his eyes and his wide mouthful of needle-sharp teeth.
