The Chapter: The Targons
Information is spotty on this chapter at best. But it is known to only recruit from its home system of Targon. Once a Feudal world run by a Imperial Governor a warrior society grew out of the primitive Agri world. The warriors were often picked to become Guard regiments. This world also produced skilled artisans known through out the sector.
However some time in the past due mostly to isolation and ignorance the technocrat nobility fell to the ruinous powers and indulged in unspeakable acts in devotion to Slanesshi. When this was fully apparent the Warriors of Targon united to defeat the Heretics. Armed with melee weapons and some modern Las weapons they fought to save there land for the Emperor. However seeing the end coming the traitors sought the help of the Emperor's Children to save them. Once the Blood Angles arrived the Warriors of Targon were losing badly.
With their help the outbreak was contained but the final blow was not from an Astarties but from a Mortal man. He sank the smile his axe into the neck of the Chaos sorcerer who lead the Emperor's Children.
The he collapsed, his home and kinsmen were all but gone. His need to live ended with the smile of his axe in the body of the traitor.
The Blood Angels saw this. A whole world and culture destroyed in an attempt to stop the ruinous powers in service to the Emperor. They were moved.
It has been said they took that young warrior and made him whole again. Some say he went on to say he became the founder and Chapter Master of the Targon Chapter, others say that it was one of the Blood angels who saw the honourable sacrifice and was so moved he became the founder.
But what is know is the Chapter rebuilt not only Targon prime but moved out into the systems other worlds. Now sporting 2 Forge worlds 3 Hive Worlds based on the Moons of Targus (Gas Giant) and 5 agri worlds along side Targon Prime.
The Chapter is also known to field large Imperial Guard Regiments to bolster its power when the battle brothers go to battle.
Recruitment practices:
All potential Neophyte are recruited from Targon Prime or other worlds along as the individual is of the Targon gene pool.
It begins with potential candidates are brought together to Targon Prime and undergo checking by both the Chapter Librarium and the Apothicarium so check for mutations or taint from the ruinous powers. If they pass they are then made to compete in an event known as the "Grand Games." A public event Held on Targon Prime that pits the potentials against one another. The events generally do not end with the death of an opponent but it has happened on occasion. The top 20% are taken away to partake in the Blood Duel.
The half that remain are whisked away to one of the Hive cities of Targus. There they are given a dagger and orders to kill 10 members of a specific hive city gang. This not only shows his skill in combat but also how he is able to adapt in a unfamiliar environment and to stalk and watch to make sure his kills are on the right gang.
After that he goes through the trials to become an Astarties.
Chapter Culture:
The Chapter, being made of 100% Targon males comradeship is easy to come by. The chapter also has a deep focus on artistry. Brothers choose artistic disciplines. Much spare time is spent on this. This also helps the brothers hold the flaw in check. A by-product of this is an incredibly artistic Fortress-Monastery. Simple things like tables have been turned into works of incredible art.
As far as the Chapter's interaction with the populace the intermingle with them freely. Going to markets to buy crafting materials, eating and being social. Some brothers have even married mortal women. When the first incident came to light it caused a stir among the Chapter. But the Master just laughed at the news, ever since it has been common around a quarter of the Chapter have some sort of relationship with a woman and 4/5ths have social relationships outside the Chapter.

Sergeant: Player: WalrusM3 Name: Markus O'Reilly Race: Space marine Age: Unknown Appearance:http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff389/Walrus2D/My work/IMG_0081.jpg He has long black hair, with its fringes that hang over his face and chisled face that is gaunt and long as a Space marine can get. Allegiance: The Imperium, but with question Rank: Sergeant of the Second company Wargear: Boltgun, combat knife, power armour, frag and krak grenades, the usual really. Personal History: Its really unsure what sergeant O'Reilly was before the planet Targon had suffered its first chaos insurgent. Many speculate he was a simple artisan of some sort, its what he would tell you anyways. But as you can imagine, once the chaos had came to destroy everything that the planet held sacred, Markus was still picked to serve as a warrior of the company. Some say he was a part-time exceptional warrior, others that he stood at a defiant moment in battle to defend his homeland to protect it and there are those that strongly believe, but least like, that it was his fervent hatred and anger at the things the chaos had destroyed. Once Targon had been reborn, O'Reilly had became aware of what he had become. While joining the ranks to protect and save his world, he had realized that his humanity had been stolen from him, his free-will had been stolen from him and all his futures and dreams had been most of all stolen. Although he still proved to be a valiant and gifted warrior, others around him could tell he was being affected by the fate he had became aware of, something most unusual and not trusted to a space marine. This didn't stop him from gaining the rank of sergeant, where he trained fellow warriors, led them on campaigns to the unknown and fought and bled alongside them. As O'Reilly looks to how his life has become and how it has been turned to nothing more than a weapon of mass death, he is watched with suspicions by his brothers, especially that of his fellow 2nd company. Most of his squad is still loyal to him and admires their sergeant, that they will normally stick up for him and suggest his personality is more of an affect from the Red thirst that seeps inside them all. But his those squad members admit to themselves that it most likely isn't. Nevertheless, O'Reilly fights to this day as what he has become and an unknown fate awaits him.

Death Company:
Targon Guard Regiments:
The Targon Regiments are mostly drawn from the populations of Targon warrior clans. They form the backbone of the systems armies. However there is an issue. The core is made up of ethnic Targons but many from the hive cities form almost half of the forces. they are Sidelined and put into separate regiments. there regiments are often treated as expendable by Targon commanders and are quite often sent to their deaths to save casualties for ethnic Targons. These other regiments are given Cadia pattern gear. Targon regiments are equipped with customized standard weapons. Artistically inscribed but functional. Often use gold inlay and accented with red to represent association with the Targon Chapter.
Targon Regiments:
Ausländer (non Targon) Regiments:

It was also at this time that he earned his moniker when an enemy grenade blew away a chunk out of the right side of his head destroying the eye and most of his memory, now his past gone and his regiment crushed he now serves with the Targon Guard and continues to fight the enemies of the Emperor.
The Targon Fleet:
The Targon fleet was first made up of older Imperial Navy ships given to the Chapter. The brother marines labored to repair and maintain the ships to full working order. Now with forge worlds to support them the chapter passed them on and formed a system defense fleet. In spite of te name the fleet also go to battle with the chapter in other systems.
