This man was incredibly brave. I could never do something like that. I'm surprised he wasn't concerned about his own life up until he actually saw the man and thought about him having a gun. Even though I do think it's wonderful that he went and saved that little girl, he did risk himself getting hurt or killed and his family losing him, which is pretty reckless.
I'd like to say, just because someone doesn't rush to the rescue of somebody doesn't mean they aren't decent. You may not have meant that, but that's how it sounded.
