Karma was born into a family of werewolves, but never had the chance to fully indulge in the life style. She was orphaned at the age of seven. Her parents died in a car crash and with no living relatives, she was put into foster care. Karma knew what she was and tried so hard throughout her life to keep it a secret. She grew up being more human that what she was meant to be. At the age of nine, she was adopted by a nice couple that treated her like a princess and gave her a life that would help her succeed in the future. Karma was a straight A student in high school and now attends the University of San Diego. She has wonderful friends that she can count on, but could never tell them what she really is. She's use to being the only werewolf in the city, but things change for her when Kody appears.

'Unfortunate Privilege', thats how Kody describes her life and upbringing. Born into the prominent pack of the midwest, she has called Kansas home for most of her life. Kody got off the San Diego city bus and looked around at her new home for the time being. It smelled funny to her, but she figured it was from the lack of trees. She looked down at her map and started to walk the six blocks to campus. She was glad she refused the town car, moving van, and escort to campus. It would have been tiresome and imposing, besides she rather not have all glitzy things her mother wanted to send with her. She rolled her eyes just think of it.

Karma sat in a cafe just three blocks away from the University of San Diego. Her four close friends sat with her, peering out of the window. She sipped at her cup of tea, sitting right across from the window so that she had the best view of the street. After taking her sip, she checked her wrist watch and smiled. She had plenty of time to enjoy her tea before class.

Kody noticed a coffee shop and decided to get something to go, she'd need the energy after not being able to sleep on the plane. She crossed the street, nearly getting hit, and cussed out the cabbie. She sighed and walked into the coffee shop without looking around.

Karma nearly choked on her tea when she watched a young girl cross the street and almost get hit by a car. She was about to run out there to help, but situations had settled before she could even move. Karma watched as the girl finally crossed and walked into the cafe. There was something odd about this girl, but she couldn't figure out what it was. So, she went back to sipping at her tea and listening to her friends talk on about a teacher.

Kody ordered a house coffee with room. She was a little surprised at how long it took to pour a cup of coffee but finally made it over to the condiment cart and added her cream and sugar. Thats were she felt something a little odd, but brushed it off. She couldn't pick out what it was but figured it didn't much matter. She sipped her coffee to taste it, once she was satisfied she replaced the lid and walked out. she crouched down outside the window and tied her shoe, getting a little look around as she did so.

Karma was intrigued by the girl. That little voice in the back of her head and the hairs standing on the back of her neck were annoying her. The feeling had come and gone, just as the girl did. Pretending to listen to her friends some more, her eyes followed the girl as soon as she had walked out of the cafe.

Kody sighed and headed for campus again. She still had to meet with her councilor and find her room. thankfully her father had arranged for a single dorm room. the only plus of having money lately. but she was never going to admit it to anyone.

Watching the girl walk down the street, Karma realized that she was heading in the same direction as the campus. A small smirk spread across her face as she finished her tea. "Hey guys, I'll chat catch up with you later, I'm going to head to class early." She said sweetly as she grabbed her bag and stood up. The group said their goodbyes and waved to Karma as she walked out of the cafe. She wasn't afraid to start conversations with strangers, especially if they were cute girls. Her sexualaity wasn't a secret, practically the whole city knew. Catching up quickly to Kody's side, Karma smiled sweetly. "Hey, you must be knew in town."

Kody was on guard as the girl approached her. "What gave me away?" She did have to say the girl was cute though, but she still felt a little odd. It was the same feeling from the coffee shop cropping up again. She tried to be a little friendly and less for her brooding self.

She giggled lightly. "Well, I know most of the girls in this city. Plus, you don't have the cali tan." Karma said with a smile. That odd feeling was back and making her nauseous. She took in a deep breath, trying to not puke. There was definitely something strange about this new girl.

Kody glanced down at her arms. "I guess I stick out a bit. " She rose her eyebrow a little. She sipped her coffee and tried to take in some of the scene and noticed everyone was a little tanner then back home. But then again people had more color back home then she did too. She looked back at the girl, "You feeling sick or something?" She noted that the girl looked a little green around the edges.

Karma nodded her head slightly. "Yeah, I'm fine. It'll pass...hopefully." She said softly while trying to ignore the feelings. "So, are you headed towards the University?"
