So, I need help/cliffnotes on how to applique. My school doesn't exactly tell us how to do that and I'm trying to do something with a certain rainbow-pooping toaster cat an unicorn.
Also known as making patches.

Well I've never technically DONE any applique. I sew quilts and what I'd do is dependent on your patches.
I end up zig zagging boyscout and cubscout patches on shirts. They are thick pre done patches that are a PAIN to hand stitch.
If you've made these items out of fabric and they are thin enough, get an iron on interfacing to adhere the "patch" to the fabric. Fold in the sides and blind stitch the "patch" on. Then afterward you can add a decorative embroidery stitch if you want to dress it up.
Hope that helps.

I have so many started and not completed projects it's sad really... I've just been to tired lately! I'm hoping scheduling a workout routine and just organizing things in general will get me motivated again I'd LOVE to see any finished products that you would like to share.

Sadly the only finished things I have are samples and design projects TT.TT I don't have a sewing lab this year...unless I sneak into Danielle's...
Thanks for sharing about to contest though, it looks pretty cool (also has me thinking about a nyan-cat quilt)

My brother and I still have the quilts our grandmother made. Mine is worst for worn but it still manages to keep me warm. 3nodding I can do a normal stitch and some embroidering but that's pretty much it.

It really just takes practice. I dunno how many bean bags and pillowcases I made, lol.
Embroidery takes a lot of practice, btu there's a cool site that teaches you how to do all the basic needlework stiches.
