Almost Poetic It's illegal to dump the pennies on someone's desk without it being in a container. Any container will do, though, so anything from penny rolls to an old mayonnaise jar is fine. He could have paid thousands of dollars in pennies and asked it to be counted as long as it wasn't given in loose change.
So yeah, it was illegal. Keep that in mind the next time you decide to pay in pennies.

last time i checked pennies are still considered money and even if they are trying to make it so they aren't considered money in this country the government states that u may use any form of money printed at a u.s. mint from any year as long as it was in circulation. it doesn't matter the year. so he should be allowed to pay it in pennies, and what company doesn't take checks? i mean really all of them do! they were just trying to be difficult
