Copic Colouring Technique

Hi guys, sorry for the innactivity - I got a bit busy with uni. work sweatdrop

I've been using the medium broad nib on the copic marker to colour large areas and I was wondering what do you have to do to prevent streaking from occuring, as the strokes over lap and create streaks of darker colour.

According to the copic website, it says to colour in circles but I've found that it uses up a lot of ink and makes the ink much darker than it should be.

What kind of paper are you using?

WELL
you could always take more time in placing your strokes so that none of them overlap, or you could take a lighter shade to do the dark circles with?

I'm using 70gsm bleedproof marker paper.

I could do that but I can't really do that with the really light colours.

If you work quickly on marker paper, you won't get streaks. You can go in circles or push the stroke across the page very fast and keep going over it until it's even.
