Chance crossed his arms as he looked over the pitch he'd just set up. He wasn't having fun with trying to pick his vice captain, that was for sure. Heck, he was pretty sure that he was going to bungle it all up. However, he had two choices in mind, but he had to figure out which he was going to ultimately go with. Just... He had a feeling that his choice wasn't exactly going to go on record as being the best choice. Sighing, he rubbed his face and leaned against one of the goalposts, thinking that he might as well wait beside the box for people to fill out the forms to try out.

Her parents hadn't thrown her out of the house or anything, but they clearly had no idea how to act around her now that they knew she was gay. Which was a bit ridiculous, but she just had to wait and hope they got over it before she graduated. She'd always been close with them, after all. Offering Chance a polite smile, she took a form to fill out.

Lucien was ready to go with his new broom, courtesy from abuelita's family in Argentina. It was kind of sad that Candace graduated, sure, but he was looking forward of working with the new captain. Chance was a great guy, especially in the music club, so Lucien cannot see himself and the team being in a slump. spaceSher got out to the pitch on time, though he felt like he was running late anyway thanks to the number of people on the pitch. He took a form from Chance and filled it out quickly, feeling nervous. Liddie was graduating after this year, which meant that this might very well be his last year on reserve. He was going to have to train extra hard, then, so that if he ended up first string next year, he was prepared to do his best. At least he wasn't contemplating quitting the team before that could happen, he supposed. First year he definitely would've considered it.

And not for the first time as she arrived and waved to those she knew and recognized, she was glad she had gotten over her crush on Chance. Not only would it make things uber awkward since he was her captain but also...it was just uber awkward in general now that she sat back and thought about it. He was best friends with her brother, he probably only saw her as a friend of Desi's or worse as his friend's "baby sister" as Dris kept freaking calling her (as if she weren't dealing with pimples and "joy of womanhood" as she went through the Willy Wonka tunnel known as puberty). All that aside, Laili hoped Chance thought her awkwardness around him had more to do with her cringing over how'd she'd acted towards him the last few years than with her still having a crush on him. Boy wouldn't that be the cherry garcia on her sundae.

Nani skipped onto the pitch, looking at all the people around. She grabbed her paperwork, then a slightly chewed on quill to fill it all out. Her broom was carefully balanced on her shoulder, the girl not minding if it were to fall, but trusting it wouldn't. Once all her information was written down, she handed it back, then sat in the grass to begin stretching. The girl grinned, just happy to be in the autumn sunshine.

Dagrun smiled at the sight of Mary; the girls shared a dorm and while not close friends, obviously had spoken to one another fairly often last year. And Mary was very extroverted and bubbly, so talking to her was easy. Plus, her accent always amused Dagrun, since it seemed so out of place in the Scottish highlands. "Thanks, Mary. I'm trying out for keeper. My brother's a chaser reserve for Gryffindor, and my sister's the Gryffindor seeker, so I wanted to do something different, I guess," she shrugged. "Plus I'm not sure I could keep up with the chase and everything. Keeper seems a bit more relaxed." Unless you had terrible chasers, in which case the keeper had a lot on their plate.
