Max was ready the moment Tally gave the teams. He wanted to get out there and get the ball rolling. After his laps around the field, Max got ready. The ball went up and he want for it just as Aire did. Hopefully he could beat her to the quaffle.

Maya listened to Tally's little speech just long enough to be assigned a team, then any stipulations. No hitting seekers, do some laps... basic stuff. Awesome. Grabbing her broom, Maya happily sped through her laps and went into position. As soon as time came, she darted after the snitch. She was so excited to be back in the air, but finally having the real probability to make the team. Searching around, Maya hoped she'd find the elusive snitch fast.

Like last year Eliza Ann was back in the land of beater. It wasn't a big deal given that Maya was a definite for seeker this year. She'd just have to bring her A game. After doing her three laps, she prepared herself. Seeing Aire and Max going head to head for the quaffle, it didn't look like he was going to make it. Either way she planned on giving Max a leg up and aimed a bludger Aire's way.

Penelope was pretty thrilled that she was able to try out for the chaser position, rather than being automatically set to try out for Keeper since she'd played reserve for that position for the past two years. She jumped onto her broom and completed her laps before joining everyone for the scrimmage. Once the balls were up in the air, Aire had beaten her to the toss up and managed to depart with the quaffle before Maxwell was able to get his hands on it.

Aire was both excited and a little guilty she had gotten to the quaffle before the older Max. She narrowly dodged a bludger as she flew for the goal posts, doing her best to dodge around players and bludgers. Ay! This was what flying was all about!

Kenna nodded as she was placed on Gold team as a beater, and then when they all took flight, she flew her three laps obediently. She couldn't wait to actually play though. When the balls were released, she immediately began searching for a bludger. When she found one, she glanced around before aiming it at Penelope to hopefully help Harmony keep a hold of the quaffle. She swung hard, and prayed she got a hit.

Kenna's bat swung through thin air and the bludger slammed into her hip instead. She spiraled in a circle for a moment, and the bludger flung itself off to some other place. She groaned. She supposed she had hit something... just not what she meant when she was praying for a hit.

Aire had no sooner gotten the quaffle and tucked it under her arm than Harmony had come and swiped it. Her younger cousin! Well, that was embarrassing!

It took her a moment to turn her broom around and regain her bearings. Harmony was having a grand old time, waving when she spotted her. A challenge! She had to steal it back! Time for some unconventional tactics!

Aire sped up and took position above Harmony, speeding up and keeping her and closing in from above. Then abruptly she pushed her broom ahead and below Harmony's, and leapt. If it worked, she would swipe the quaffle mid-fall, catch her broom, and be on her way before Harmony realized her tactic.

Oof! Aire managed to wrangle the quaffle from Harmony, and then narrowly caught her own broom. She swung for a moment--this was not quite as graceful as she had anticipated.

She spotted Penelope flying nearby though, and tossed the quaffle lightly over to her fellow red teammate. With her free arm, Aire tossed the lightly over, then pulled herself onto her broom, none worse for the wear.

Sure, Harmony could have waited for her teammates to go after the quaffle, but HER COUSIN STOLE IT FROM HER. It was only fair, Harmony had stolen from Aire earlier. She took off and tried to steal the quaffle back from Aire, she wouldn't get away too long if Harmony had anything to say about it. "Come on Decksweeper Doooooon, I won't let you win that easily." Did she just make up something completely random? Yep. It wasn't as impressive as Aire's random nickname callings, Harmony would have to work on her insults.

Just as quickly as Harmony went after Aire though, Aire passed the quaffle. Harmony growled, that was no fun. Harmony went to try and steal the quaffle by intercepting it during the pass.

Aire spotted the unmistakable blue blur of Harmony sweep in, intercepting her pass to Penelope with a call of Decksweeper Don? Aire hesitated for a moment before reasserting herself--she was senior on this ship and she was definitely not sweeping any decks if she could avoid it!

With a reckless charge, Aire pushed her broom to intercept.

It might have helped if she was fully back on her broom first. As it was, she just kind of moved slowly between the two opposing chasers and the quaffle went over her head.
