about:
Alrighty, hey all! The name here on gaia is phloid (you can call be phlo if
you so please) and irl it’s Amanda. I’m eighteen, just finishing up my
first year at university which I’m kinda probably doing quite terribly in
because of my serious lack of motivation which is also what has impaired
me from losing my weight in the past. I’ve always had a bit of chub on me,
it fluctuated slightly over the years, but I’ve never been at a weight that I
felt totally comfortable with. I was hoping having free gym access at
school would really help me out but the gym felt too far away and too
much of a hassle to get to with all my schoolwork and whatnot. So
needless to say, I basically maintained the weight I had coming into
school (at least I had no freshman fifteen!) It’s now my last week of the
year (exams, that’s why I put a bit of a hold on starting things) and I’ll be
heading back home for the summer. Back home my house is located like
actually in the middle of no-where! It’s really boring. I usually have
nothing to do which should translate to lots of time to workout. But…
living in the middle of nowhere I don’t have much close gym access so I’m
left with jogging outside which… well I don’t prefer but I don’t mind either. I
tried making last summer my “get hot for school” summer, but it didn’t
turn out. I ran every once in a while, not regularly enough for results. But
I’ve been wanting to change my lifestyle for soo long now, I really,
really want to make this summer the summer that changed my life!
I want to lose weight not only to feel more confident and comfortable in
my own skin, but also I am currently in the process of being tested for
likely having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (not gonna go into insane
detail, I'd only have a mild case and it's not all that serious) and the
symptoms of it are lessened when you are in a healthy weight which I
currently am not. So it'd be great to just feel HOT and be healthy so I'm
hoping to record my progress in here and stick with it this time!

stats:
Height: 5’10”
Weight: approx. 185 lbs
(no scale in my dorm)
BMI: 26.5
Waist Measurement: 36"
Hip Measurement: 44"
Bust Measurement: 40"
Thigh Measurement: 27"
Calf Measurement: 16"
Upper Arm Measurement: 13.5"

goals:
I want to be at 150 lbs (at the BMI of 21.5) I’d love to reach that by the
end of August, when I am going to be coming back to school but that’s
approximately 4 months to lose approximately 35 lbs which equals out to
a tad over 2 pounds per week. If I manage to do that, it would be
AMAZING. But for now I’m just gonna take it slow and steady and aim at
1 pound per week, getting me to around 170-165 lbs by the end of
August.

progress
184 183 182 181 180
179 178 177 176 175
174 173 172 171 170
169 168 167 166 165
164 163 162 161 160
159 158 157 156 155
154 153 152 151 150!

the plan:
~ Drink water! (8 glasses/ 64 oz/ 2L per day)
~ Stop the late night munchies!
~ Exercise daily, even just a short walk
xxxx(aim for heavier workouts 4x per week)
~ Limit sugary drinks!
xxxx(so glad I wont be at my current job for the summer.
xxxxIt’s at a bubble tea shop and with the amount of sugar in those
xxxxAnd the amount that I drink… it would not have helped
xxxxThis process)
~ Don’t eat straight from the package, grab a serving size then leave
~ Eat more fruits and veggies
~ Correct my sleep schedule. (try sleep from 1am-9am daily)
xxxx(I’m currently practically nocturnal)
~ I think I'll track all food on an off-Gaia site then do a daily journal here.
xxxxI like using off-Gaia sites for tracking calories
xxxxthen I don't like copying all that info over twice.
xxxxSo I'll leave you all with a link to my myfitnesspal
xxxxprofile if you wanna check out specifically what I eat

(happy birthday daddy! ^ ^)

So, In order to study for my final this evening (and somewhat to help in straightening out my sleep schedule) I pulled an all nighter today. So unhealthy. But... if I didn't, I wouldn't be tired until ungodly hours of the night as usual. Hopefully this'll straighten me out.

I've been on campus all night and day so food options were limited, had to eat out at the Tim Horton's (yes, I'm canadian) and the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch (whilst studying) and then my friend asked me to eat at the caf again with her after the exam. I cut like at least 200 cal. off my breakfast sandwich by choosing better options at Timmies (I got bacon and english muffin instead of sausage and the homestyle biscuit, makes a big difference!) Also got sweetner and milk instead of sugar and cream in my coffee... still bad, but better! I'm not one for coffee but on this all nighter I took some, not a regular enough drinker to want to attempt drinking it black. Then at lunch I made good Subway choices; one of the <6g fat ones on whole wheat, no fatty dressings. Then dinner was bad. It was asian fast food style; everything fried and covered in sauce.

Ended up almost 1,000 calories over my goal. There's a little first journal wake up call. Hopefully things brighten up with home cooking tomorrow. yikes.

Yeah, so much for a healthier sleep pattern. after my all nighter, I still managed to stay up till 4 am. My friend and I wanted to finish of the 7 episodes we had left in the first how I met your mother series we'd been watching together all year before we left back home for the summer. He made me finish them all! D: haha, but it was fun.

Then after I woke up I did a little shopping, got some shorts and skirts since summer is coming! (: Got home from that and went straight to work (just in time, I was almost late thanks to busses). I decided to allow myself a little indulgence in a bubble tea at work (I get a free one each shift) since I only had that shift and one shift more before I go back home and wont be able to enjoy any delicious bubbble teas for four months! Then I also munched on a small bag of chips when I got home, but other than that I had pretty decent food today, stayed in my calorie goal.

PS: I know this isn't the usual kind of weight loss diary format but...
I dunno I guess I like it better personally. As stated before, I don't feel like
punching all my stuff onto myfitnesspal.com then coming back here and
repeating all the same stuff... and I also just like kinda taking a minute at
the end of the day to reflect on my day and share highlights and stuff, my
own personal journal kind of. I guess I'm sorry if you try to read this and
just find an abundance of pointless rambling about my life and not much
else, hahaha.

Calorie Total: 1,382
Exercise: a couple hours shopping and a 6 hour waitressing shift
Water Total: only 2 cups D:

I used to watch this video often and, no matter how boring it seems I find
it strangely intriguing and while trying to think of my favourite youtube
videos it came to mind again (:

Yikes! Today was bad. I was working until 2 am, then when I got home I just sat up, relaxing a bit. I believe I finally went to bed around 6 but I forget now, hehe.

Then, obviously slept in late the next day, woke up at 4 pm... oops. I made a big pot of ramen, frozen veggies and an egg then ate half, watched Coraline with my roomie, then ate the other half and watched Corpse Bride, we're having a bit of a Tim Burton marathon. (: It was quite a big meal, but it kinda counted for all my meals of the day since I woke up so late. Then had some icecream and popcorn with my boyfriend, probably not best. At least it was just a 100cal popcorn bag!

A bit of a low cal day, but I wasn't up for all that many hours...

Again, a late night. But this one has a better excuse! It was my boyfriend's last night in town before we spend the next 4 months 7 hours apart. So we were up late, watching movies and talking. Then we had to wake up early for him to leave... maybe I'll be tired enough to go straight to sleep tonight?

Anyways, not much else exciting today. Was probably my last shift at work for the summer unless someone needs a switch this week. I had Greek food tonight for dinner, didn't seem too bad, like a big salad, souvlaki, some rice and potatoes, and pita bread. I just guessed at calories by finding a similar meal on the calorie counter website from a different Greek fast food chain, came out to like 1000 calories in the end! Then had another bubble tea tonight, so it was a heavier night. Not awful, could have been worse.

Calorie Total: 1,805
Exercise: walking across campus, probably 45minutes total, 7 hour waitressing
Water Total: again, only 2 cups! D:
Bedtime: 5:00 am
Woke up: 9:30 am

Yay~!

Good luck!

I love your format.

You can do it and it will be great.

Lol. If you don't see your boyfriend for a while it'd be sweet if you got down to 150 and he went 'damn!' (not that I know him but I think that'd be a great response if it was from your boyfriend of from your great grandmother. "Damn~!" "Grandma!")
