Ohhh, silly prom.

Okay, so my boyfriend's prom is coming up in a couple weeks and I bought this dress few days ago for it.
MAI DRESS

I don't care too much that it is not a super fancy dress since I'm on a budget and I've already done the whole fancy hair due and dress and what not last year for my prom and boyfriend isn't making a big deal out of it anyways. However, I do still want to look good for my boyfriend and not look like a bum. So I've been pondering for days what I could do make up and hair wise.
I was thinking for my hair braiding back my bangs and then pulling my hair in a low bun, sort of to the side? Or maybe leave my hair down and wavy and do like a french braid thing, like one on each side of head...I'm not sure how else to explain it xD And for make-up, well I REALLY wanted to wear red lipstick but I'm not so sure now. I wouldn't wear any other make up really besides mascara and foundation! Or maybe gold/brown-ish eyeshadow and just lip gloss? I DON'T KNOW! There's a billion things I want to do but I don't know what would look good so I'm calling on you ladies for some help! Suggestions? Thoughts? ANYTHING IS APPRECIATED! (:

From my non-professional standpoint, with that type of top you should wear your hair down. You can wear it up, but you'd want a shnazzy necklace that would lay just below your collar bone.

Yeah that's what I was thinking with the necklace thing but I don't have any that aren't long and dangley, so unless I can borrow one from a friend, then I guess I'll be leaning more towards hair down.

One of your hair options was a wavy french braid sort of look.
Waterfall braids are super nice..., I think it'd look good wavy.

I'm definitely going to try the red lipstick now and hopefully it doesn't look to awkward on me! (:
As for hair, ahhh, I'm still unsure! I'm going to mess around with different styles while I still have the time! xD
